Exodus- "The Way Out"

Pastor Roy E. Richmond

PART FOUR

THE GLORY OF GOD ATOP THE MOUNTAIN

Chapter 24 gives the account of the time God called Moses and the seventy up into the mountain and they saw God.

Lets read it, verse 9,

Then went up Moses, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: 10 And they saw the God of Israel: and there was under his feet as it were a paved work.....
Matthew 7:49 says that the earth is His footstool. Therefore this is talking about something they saw in symbolic form. It was the earth. And on the earth there was a paved work of sapphire stone.

Sapphire is the stone that was to bring us to remembrance of Simeon on the High Priest's breastplate. Simeon means "the hearing".

... of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in his clearness.
Here's what he saw. They saw God. And under His feet there was a heavenly body IN HIS FULLNESS. Do you hear this? They saw God. And under His feet was a heavenly body with a paved work that went right through the middle.

We can take you to Revelation 21 and show you that same heavenly body. It is nothing short of the Body of Christ that they saw! Awesome! Why have we missed this for years? We've been too lazy to study. We have just taught what we thought that it said, or we have been "Outer Court" people who just look for how this might affect our flesh. We are Spirit, and we must be looking for Spiritual truths!

Chapter 25 begins with the building of the Ark. We have the Ark of the Covenant, and we have the Table of Showbread.

THE TABLE OF SHEWBREAD

Let me give you some characteristics. The table of Showbread had twelve loaves. How many things did Jesus do for us? Six. He was Crucified, He Died, was Buried, Quickened, Raised, and then Seated.

The leaves were in two stacks. Six loaves over here, and six loaves over there.

The first six shows what Jesus did, and the other six show what that means to us.

The only people who ate those pieces of bread were the Priests. The bread was called "shewbread." What does that tell you? When you eat it, it's meant to show you something! This table had a crown around its rim. The crown was the breadth of a mans hand wide. What does that tell you? It's the Fivefold ministry again. That gift ministry is mentioned throughout

THE CANDLESTICK

The candlestick represents the Branch-man, Jesus Christ.

Secondly, He is the word made flesh. The Word of God is implied because the candlestick had many ornaments on the candlestick. 66 ornaments just as many books of the Bible that we have today. It was placed in the Holy place and it was lit up quite beautifully. It was the only light in the Holy Place. It pictures the Branch Man, the Word made flesh. Jesus was the Word made flesh. And when we grow up into Him, this Word will be made flesh in us.

There is an interesting thought here. Chapter 27:20 shows us where they got the oil that fueled the candlestick. We are called to be the light of this world. You see, the candlestick had oil in it and they would light it. Where they got that oil from would tell us a great deal about what anoints us to minister light to the world.

Exodus 27:20 And thou shalt command the children of Israel, that they bring thee pure oil olive beaten for the light, to cause the lamp to burn always.

OLIVE PRESS

It's olives that were beaten that provided this oil. It is depictive of Gethsemane, where Jesus sweat as it were drops of blood. Gethsemane means "the olive press." And that's where the oil that lights up the light of the world comes from. Everything revolves around what He did. We're looking around for what we can do. But we need to be taught how to properly light the world. And it's through His death, burial, and resurrection. He went through the "olive press" and it was that oil or anointing that came from Gethsemane that lights up this thing.

THE BRAZEN ALTAR

Chapter 27-30

The Brazen Altar is a picture of the cross. It was five cubits high, and the number five is the number of grace. His work was a work of grace. It was three cubits wide. This refdsr to the length of time that it took -- three days -- to get the job done.

It was made of brass and wood. Wood speaks of humanity, brass is judgment. It was when the man Christ Jesus was judged, that we were brought into redemption.

THE GARMENTS OF THE HIGH PRIEST

Chapter 28 recounts the garments of the Priest. There are nine of them and they were in three layers. Everything is in three's. The tabernacle was three outer court, holy place, most holy place. And we begin with the description of the smallest to the largest objects.

Who is our High Priest today? It's Jesus, and he is in us. He wants to come in us in His fullness.

These garments were in three layers. They had one layer of Linen, and then they had the blue robe, and then the golden Ephod.

We have salvation and the Holy Spirit baptism in the Church. Now God wants some people to grow up, to be mature. When the clothes are made, and we're His clothes, the High Priest will come and fill up His clothes just like God is going to come and fill up His house when it's finished. It's the same picture from one end to the other.

CONSECRATION OF THE PRIESTS

Chapter 29 recounts the consecration of the Priests.

There were three offerings. The Priests were ready to be consecrated. Consecration is something that God does. You find out by hearing what God is doing, and about what He does.

There are three offerings. First of all there was a Bullock for a sin offering. It's Jesus made sin for us, 11 Corinthians 5:21. Then there was a ram for a burnt offering, which speaks of what happened to Jesus after He was made sin. He was totally consumed. The burnt offering was an offering where nothing was left. Everything single portion was totally consumed.

When something is totally burned up it then ascends. It speaks of what happened to Jesus. He became who we are and was consumed and raised and ascended to the Father.

The third thing was a ram called the consecration ram. They took the blood of this ram and put it on the Priest's ear and thumb and large toe. This caused the hearing of the Priest to be consecrated, the services of the Priest to be consecrated and the walk of the Priest to be consecrated by the ram's death!

GOLDEN ALTAR AND LAVER

Chapter 30 recounts the Golden altar and the Laver.

The Golden altar was at the center of the cross, if you superimpose the figure of the cross over the furniture in the tabernacle. The Tabernacle furniture numbered seven pieces. There was the brazen altar and the brazen laver, the Golden altar, the golden table of showbread, the golden candlestick and the Ark of the Covenant. And right in the center of that shape of the cross was this golden altar, which speaks of a people.

It was in the center of the cross, and was made of wood overlaid with gold. This it speaks of a people a human nature. It refers to a people who have been covered by a divine nature. Gold indicates the divine nature.

Thirdly, it had a crown of gold which speaks of the renewing of our minds to the understanding of possessing the divine nature. The fire that lit the golden altar came from the brazen altar, which speaks of the cross. It's the only part of the Tabernacle that will produce fire without death. It was cleansed on the day of atonement. When the Priest went behind the veil, he cleansed the altar. He cleaned it up. It speaks of a people who were cleaned up by the day of atonement.

In Hebrews 9 it says that the High Priest took that altar with him behind the veil on the day of atonement. The idea is that we are experientially living in the day of atonement. It means "at-one-ment"! It's when God showed us that we are at one with Him in all He did. And when He went behind the veil with that Golden altar, that's a picture of us finding out who we are and what we have in Christ today.

THE BRAZEN LAVER

This piece of furniture was made from the looking glasses of the women. After you went to the cross it was the second piece of furniture that you experienced spiritually. It was a reflection, or a picture. It was a type of the Word of God. It is where you get cleaned up. Where you get washed.

OTHER DETAILS

Chapter 31 teaches us about the kinds of people who fill the tabernacle of God. There are two men here Bezaleel and Aholiab. If you study these principles in chapter 31 you will find out what God wants in people.

Chapter 32, the broken covenant and golden calf.

Chapter 33, restoring of the law.

Chapter 34 is the restoration of the law, the second tables.

Chapter 35 the offering

Chapter 36 making of the curtains, boards and vales,

Chapter 37 is the making of the Ark, the furniture in the Holy place.

Earlier in the book, He told them how to make the ark and this is where we read that they actually made it.

Chapter 38, making of the brazen altar the laver and the court.

Chapter 39 is making of Aaron's garments.

Chapter 40 is when Jesus comes and gets in His clothes.

Chapter 40 is when the Glory comes.

THE HANGINGS

Verse 33 says,

And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.
Listen to this. Look what happened right before this. We read "and he set up the hangings thereof."

The hangings. If I can only set up the hangings in this place. There is a hanging on the old rugged cross in all of us that most haven't found out about. If we could set up the hangings thereof, and get it set in our minds that we have already hung, and have been judged, we would enjoy so much more victory.

The truth of the matter is there are still a bunch of "Judas''" who still want to kiss Jesus and go hang themselves. We have that temptation constantly. The Bible says that when they set up the hangings...

34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the Lord filled the tabernacle.
I think that is what God is waiting on.

Something is true of us, that we don't yet understand. We are still trying to understand and figure it out. How far does grace go? How far does mercy extend? What does God think of you and I?

If you got home today and an angel met you there and told you that God wanted him to come and take you before His throne to tell you right now what He thinks of you, I wonder what your attitude would be? Many would be fearful. Why would they be fearful, though?

What would your attitude be? Would your attitude be determined upon what you have done today and in your past? Or would it be based upon what He did two thousand years ago?

God is not pleased when we miss this. Being right with God doesn't depend upon what you daily do. It depends upon what He did! He put you in right standing with Himself. The only thing that the death angel is looking for is whether there is blood on the door or not.

Is the blood of the Lamb on your door? This revelation is not an excuse to go out and do whatever you want and live in this world-system and choose to sin. In fact, it will do exactly the opposite to you. Jesus did righteous things because He knew that He was righteous. When you find out you are righteous in Him, then you will do righteous things. You need to know that your old man hung on the cross Him. When you know that, then there is nothing left but for the Glory to come.

As part of the hand ministry, I am going to keep preaching those twelve loaves to you so you will know and so that the Glory of God can move in.

Pray this prayer if you would, and let God plant this understanding in your heart and mind and in your spirit.

If you're not saved, make Jesus Lord right now.

If you are saved and you've been sinning, ask the Lord to forgive your right where you stand.

If you are saved and you haven't seen this yet, then ask the Lord to give you a Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of those twelve loaves -- in the knowledge of Jesus. That's "showbread." You need to eat some "showbread."

There is something that you need and that I need to be shown.

Prayer: Father, in Jesus Name, I bless and thank you Lord for your redemptive work. I thank you that I am free and that I am the righteousness of God. I thank you that the more I know that the more I will act like that. I ask you to forgive me in those situations in my life where I haven't acted and responded like Jesus. Father I thank and praise you that the more that I know who I am by the Spirit of God, show me, give me a Spirit and revelation in the Knowledge of Jesus Christ, Father. I thank and praise you that as a result of that, I will not only be somebody, but I'll know who I am and I'll act like that. I thank and praise you that the moment I begin to respond in an uN- Christlike way in any area of my life, speak to my heart in the power of the Spirit and in your power I will be temperant in all things. Amen
