THE
DEVIL CANNOT CROSS THE BLOODLINE

Genesis 1:27-28 KJV So God created man in his own image, in the
image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful,
and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion
over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every
living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Romans 5:12-14 KJV Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned: (13) (For until the law sin was in the world:
but sin is not imputed when there is no law. (14)
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had
not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the
figure of him that was to come.
Man was intended to rule the world.
· But DEATH dethroned Adam.
· Adam was told he would DIE the day he ate of
the forbidden fruit.
· Satan tempted the woman to eat it so she
would DIE, and she did.
· So instead of MAN ruling, DEATH STARTED TO
RULE.
So DEATH had to be dealt with.
· Jesus came to deal with death.
Hebrews 2:14 KJV Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of
flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that
through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that
is, the devil;
Jesus would destroy the one who had the power of death.
· And He destroyed him BY DEATH!
· Take that slowly and think of it again.
· The Lord used the devil’s own power of
death to defeat the devil.
· He used the thing that the devil had as his
power!
· He took the devil’s own power and
destroyed him with it.
He had to be able to DIE in order to do this.
· Unless he had taken on flesh and blood,
Jesus would not have been able to die.
Here’s how the Lord used the devils power of death to destroy him.
Sin brought death into the human race.
Romans 5:12-14 KJV Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the
world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned:
DEATH CAME INTO THE WORLD BY SIN.
How?
· If you sin you have to die.
· That is what the LAW OF GOD said.
· So Jesus CAME TO DIE AS US.
· If His death could count for our deaths,
then this penalty of death that sin caused man to experience would be
experienced by man, and man would be out from underneath that
DOMINATION.
All that SIN could do was cause us to die.
· We could not have dominion any more because
of sin.
· So death ruled instead of us.
· But Jesus died and we are baptized into that
death so that His death can be said to be our deaths.
· That means we fulfilled the death penalty
that we had to pay for our sins.
· So if the penalty has been paid for our
sins, then SINS ARE ERASED!
· Death can do nothing more to us once we died
ONE SINGLE TIME.
Since the only thing that ruined our dominion was sin and death ruled
instead, and now the sin is gone and the death penalty is paid, WE ARE
BACK IN DOMINION AGAIN!
The blood of Jesus is mentioned everywhere in the Bible.
· Mention of it represents the overall concept
of HIS DEATH.
· Since His DEATH is what paid our death
penalty and set us free from sin, and since His blood stands for that
death, then we can say HIS BLOOD CONQUERED THE POWER OF THE DEVIL.
· BY HIS BLOOD we are now in the kingdom.
· That’s a spiritual way of saying that
His death paid our death penalties so that the thing that caused us to
lose the Kingdom is gone, so we are back in power again!
The Exodus started with blood put around the doorways of the
Israelites’ homes.
· It was like ENTERING THE DEATH OF THE LAMB
when the Israelites walked through the doors surrounded with blood.
· We are baptized into Jesus Christ’s
death.
· Since we already died ONCE, and because ONE
DEATH is all that is required to pay for our sins, death can do nothing
more to us after we enter His death.
· The penalty was not to die and be disallowed
to resurrect.
· The penalty was only death.
· No one said you could not resurrect from the
dead!
So when the death angel came to kill the firstborn Hebrew in the home,
THE DEATH OF THE LAMB STOOD FOR THE DEATH OF THAT FIRSTBORN.
· A death already occurred there.
· That is such a perfect picture of how Jesus
died for us!
· If DEATH could not claim that
firstborn’s life because the death of a lamb occurred, and the
proof of it was putting the blood of the lamb around the doorway, then
THAT LAMB’S DEATH COUNTED AS THE FIRSTBORN’S DEATH.
· It was like that SON was INSIDE THE LAMB and
DIED WITH THE LAMB by entering the doorway where the Lamb’s blood
was splattered.
Jesus STRIPPED the devil of HIS POWER OF DEATH when Jesus took the
experience of DEATH, and then resurrected!
· For the simple fact that HE RESURRECTED, He
conquered death!
· He took all that death could dish out to
him, until death could do nothing else, and then STOOD BACK UP ALIVE
AGAIN!
· HE SURVIVED DEATH!
· Nothing can survive the power of death
except RESURRECTION LIFE!
· And Jesus is RESURRECTION!
John 11:24-25 KJV Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall
rise again in the resurrection at the last day. (25) Jesus
said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth
in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
So, DEATH COULD NOT CROSS THE BLOOD LINE.
· The blood line is the line where DEATH has
already occurred.
· Death cannot do anything beyond the LINE OF
DEATH.
· Death is the furthest extent that sin can go
in destroying us.
· So if we RESURRECT after DEATH, then SIN
CANNOT GO THAT FAR!
· It stopped at death.
Goliath was KILLED in a place called EPHESDAMMIM.
1 Samuel 17:1 KJV Now the Philistines gathered together their
armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which
belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in
Ephesdammim.
EPHESDAMMIM means “boundary of blood drops”.
· It reminds me of the BLOOD LINE at the
doorways in Egypt.
David went running after the GIANT IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
· Being IN THE NAME OF THE LORD is connected
to Jesus Christ’s death.
· Going in the NAME of someone is going IN THE
POWER of someone.
· And it is interesting that BAPTISM IS IN THE
NAME OF THE LORD JESUS.
· Because, BAPTISM into Jesus is baptism INTO
HIS DEATH!
· And because He resurrected after He
experienced HIS DEATH, to go in the name of the Lord is to GO IN THE
POWER OF HIS RESURRECTION THAT HE EXPERIENCED AFTER HIS DEATH.
· And HE IS THE RESURRECTION!
· So we get baptized INTO HIS DEATH and also,
because HE IS THE RESURRECTION, we are inside of RESURRECTION POWER.
· We GO IN HIS RESURRECTION POWER FROM THE
DEAD when we go IN THE NAME OF THE LORD.
So when David RUNS after Goliath in the BOUNDARY OF DROPS OF BLOOD, and
cries out IN THE NAME OF THE LORD and kills Goliath, that represents
someone baptized INTO THE DEATH OF JESUS which SAW Jesus RESURRECT
afterwards!
· It is someone WHO KNOWS they have power over
satan because they KNOW their deaths and resurrections from those
deaths WITH JESUS is power that satan cannot handle!
· Jesus is greater inside of me than the devil
in the world because JESUS took the devil’s attack of death and
RESURRECTED FROM IT, conquering the devil’s very power!
EPHESDAMMIM was between SHOCHO and AZEKAH.
1 Samuel 17:1 KJV Now the Philistines gathered together their
armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which
belongeth to Judah, and pitched between Shochoh and Azekah, in
Ephesdammim.
SHOCHO literally means SHUT IN or FENCE
AZEKAH means FENCED ABOUT.
So we have the BOUNDARY OF BLOOD DROPS speak of Jesus’ death that
conquered the devil, that is between a place called TO FENCE and
another place called FENCED ABOUT.
· And it is all in a LAND called JUDAH which
means PRAISE!
Saul’s army and Saul’s armour could not defeat GOLIATH.
When GOLIATH was called a CHAMPION, CHAMPION literally means THE SPACE
BETWEEN TWO ARMIES.
· Killing HIM would be as good as KILLING THE
WHOLE PHILISTINE ARMY.
1 Samuel 17:9 KJV If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me,
then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill
him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
Killing ONE MAN GOLIATH would be like DEFEATING ALL THE PHILISTINES.
· And DAVID would stand in the same position
for Israel.
· CHAMPIONS.
· So when JESUS destroyed the ONE PERSON
CALLED THE DEVIL, all of the demons and hell put together BECAME
SERVANTS TO ALL OF US!
· Jesus’ single act against the devil
caused all the demons to become OUR SERVANTS.
Romans 5:19 KJV For as by one man's disobedience many were made
sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.
If one man defeated Goliath then all Israel could be considered to have
defeated Goliath.
· How did Jesus defeat satan?
· BY DEATH
· So, one man’s death was the way one
man defeated the goliath.
· And that means it was like ALL OF US DIED to
defeat the devil, and then we all resurrected.
· See how 1 Sam 17:9 hints to us about OUR
DEATHS WITH JESUS FOR OUR VICTORY?
Saul had impressive flesh, but no faith.
· David’s flesh was unimpressive,
BUT HAD GREAT FAITH!
So, GOLIATH representing satan was in the place called BOUNDARY OF
BLOOD DROPS, hemmed in on both sides, and in a land of PRAISE!
· All the ingredients for a boy like DAVID
with LITTLE FLESH but LOTS OF “IN CHRIST” FAITH to destroy
the enemy!
David praised God just by NEGLECTING MAN’S WEAPONS AND POWER and
going in the name of the Lord!
· When you can abandon all of fleshly power
and simply go in the name of the LORD, you are giving SO MUCH PRAISE TO
GOD since you are saying all mankind’s power is useless against
the enemy, and God’s power ALONE is the victory, and I believe it
so much that I am actually running after the enemy IN HIS NAME!
· It’s easy to talk about it, but to
actually ACT LIKE IT in the midst of troubles and storms of life is
something else!
· If you truly believe it so much that YOU
LIVE IT in the problems of life YOU ARE PRAISING GOD as much as anyone
is able to praise Him!
· AND SATAN IS FINISHED!
GOLIATH MEANS STRIPPED.
Colossians 2:14-15 KJV Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances
that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the
way, nailing it to his cross; (15) And having spoiled
principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing
over them in it.
SPOILED means STRIPPED.
· Jesus’ crucifixion STRIPPED THE DEVIL
of all his power.
· And made a show of the devil.
1 Samuel 17:45 KJV Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest
to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to
thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel,
whom thou hast defied.
I COME knowing I DIED WITH JESUS in HIS DEATH that destroyed YOUR POWER!
1 Samuel 17:50-51 KJV So David prevailed over the Philistine with
a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but
there was no sword in the hand of David. (51) Therefore
David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew
it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head
therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they
fled.
1 Samuel 17:54 KJV And David took the head of the Philistine, and
brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent.
I think of the same principle in Rahab’s story.
Joshua 2:18-19 KJV Behold, when we come into the land, thou shalt
bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which thou didst let us
down by: and thou shalt bring thy father, and thy mother, and thy
brethren, and all thy father's household, home unto thee.
(19) And it shall be, that whosoever shall go out of the doors of
thy house into the street, his blood shall be upon his head, and we
will be guiltless: and whosoever shall be with thee in the house, his
blood shall be on our head, if any hand be upon him.
The scarlet line stands for the BLOOD LINE that the enemy cannot cross.
· Leave that boundary and you are fair game
for the enemy.
· Do not deal with satan by the death and
resurrection of Jesus, and you are open season for the devil.
