Forgetting God Is With Us
SIN LESS Part 8
October 12, 2014

Law of works in the Old Testament had a FLAW IN IT.
Hebrews 8:7-10 KJV For if that
first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been
sought for the second. (8) For finding fault with them, he
saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new
covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
(9) Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers
in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of
Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them
not, saith the Lord. (10) For this is the covenant that I
will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I
will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I
will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
That flaw is repeated by Paul in Romans.
Romans 7:12-14 KJV Wherefore the
law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
(13) Was then that which is good made death unto me? God forbid.
But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is
good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
(14) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold
under sin.
The flaw was intentional to teach man that we can do nothing without the Spirit’s empowerment.
Like Israel facing the giants, OUR OWN FLESH is something that can be BIGGER THAN our will power.
Our flesh cannot overcome something as powerful as sin, either.
• But God was with Israel!
• Look at how Israel thought and analyze the response by Caleb.
Numbers 13:30-31 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and
said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to
overcome it. But the men that went up with him said, We be not
able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
Numbers 14:6-9 And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of
Jephunneh, which were of them that searched the land, rent their
clothes: And they spake unto all the company of the children of
Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it, is an
exceeding good land. If the LORD delight in us, then he will
bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk
and honey. Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye
the people of the land; for they are bread for us: their defence is
departed from them, and the LORD is with us: fear them not.
When Israel doubted God, He told them they would remain in the wilderness until their deaths.
• Until we learn to trust in the Spirit to
handle things that we cannot deal with on our own, then we will live in
a spiritual wilderness.
• No true Kingdom living.
• Then Moses said they’d die, so they did something foolish on the opposite end of the spectrum.
• They felt it was better to risk it and enter the land to fight the giants rather than die.
• God told them not to go.
• They went anyway, and look what happened.
Numbers 14:44-45 But they presumed to go up unto the hill top:
nevertheless the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and Moses, departed
not out of the camp. Then the Amalekites came down, and the
Canaanites which dwelt in that hill, and smote them, and discomfited
them, even unto Hormah.
It is frightening to face enemies that are stronger than us, after we
have only known the way of dealing with only the things we can
personally handle alone.
• But we will never really live by faith that way.
• We can be saved and go to Church every week, but spiritually be very dry.
Genesis 8:7-8 And he sent forth a raven, which went forth to and
fro, until the waters were dried up from off the earth. Also he
sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters were abated from off
the face of the ground;
Would Noah depend upon the message the raven would relate, or the one from the dove?
• Like Noah we Christians have TWO sources of leading in our lives.
• The RAVEN that feeds upon dead bodies stands for the flesh.
• The DOVE, as with the Baptism of Jesus, speaks of the SPIRIT OF GOD.
Romans says there are two elements that can direct our lives, too.
Romans 8:5-7 KJV For they that are after the flesh do mind the
things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of
the Spirit. (6) For to be carnally minded is death; but to
be spiritually minded is life and peace. (7) Because the
carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of
God, neither indeed can be.
We find that if Noah followed the raven he would have died.
• He relied upon the DOVE.
Like the SPIES OF ISRAEL IN CANAAN, Noah sent the dove see what the new world he would enter was like.
Genesis 8:9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot,
and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face
of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and
pulled her in unto him into the ark.
Since the dove could find no rest, this man who was named
“rest” would follow its lead and remain in the Ark as
well. We must feel at home where the Spirit is at home, and not
where our flesh feels at rest.
The dove indicated by its return or absence whether Noah should leave the ark yet.
Genesis 8:10-11 And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he
sent forth the dove out of the ark; And the dove came in to him
in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so
Noah knew that the waters were abated from off the earth.
After having sent the dove a second time, Noah saw it return with something in its mouth.
• He received a message, word, as it were, from the mouth of the Spirit!
• A foreshadow of a Word from God!
• Since it was an olive leaf, we see the
relationship to the olive tree that supplied the anointing oil for
kings and priests in the Old Testament.
• Oil represented the Spirit’s empowerment!
• KINGDOM.
It was a message that said there was a whole world of anointing waiting for Noah!
• As the raven fed on death and found comfort
there, the dove showed the indication of anointing, and it would lead
Noah to that sort of destination and place of rest.
• People who walk after the Spirit are drawn to
a life of anointing, which is empowerment of the Spirit.
• Grace!
• They rest where the Spirit rests.
The MESSAGE of the OLIVE LEAF is like the MESSAGE in Song of Solomon.
Song of Solomon 2:10-14 My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise
up, my love, my fair one, and come away. For, lo, the winter is
past, the rain is over and gone; The flowers appear on the earth;
the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle
is heard in our land; The fig tree putteth forth her green figs,
and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love,
my fair one, and come away. O my dove, that art in the clefts of
the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy
countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy
countenance is comely.
Genesis 8:12-13 And he stayed yet other seven days; and sent
forth the dove; which returned not again unto him any more. And
it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first
month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off
the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and,
behold, the face of the ground was dry.
A veil in the Bible was referred to as a COVERING.
• Rebekka COVERED with a veil herself when she saw Isaac.
• The veil in the temple covered the most holy place.
• So, it was literally an unveiling of the new
world, like opening up the veil of the most holy place when Jesus died
on the cross.
IT IS NEWNESS OF LIFE.
The new world and all the plants out there was newness of LIFE.
Romans 6:4 KJV Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into
death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of
the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
To walk in newness of life is to walk a life led by the Spirit dealing with things our flesh is too weak to handle.
The year was the 601st year of Noah’s life.
• Man was made the sixth day.
• The seventh was when God rested.
• 6 represents man in the bible.
• Did you know it was SIX CLAY JARS that were
used in the wedding at Cana where Jesus did His first miracle?
• They were DIPPED IN THE WATER and the water was TURNED INTO WINE!
• Water baptism and Spirit baptism.
• God does His first miracle in us with WATER AND SPIRIT when we’re born again into the KINGDOM.
7 is REST.
If we have a sets of TEN apples in front of us, the first SET has TEN.
11th is first of SECOND TEN.
• The eleventh is the beginning of the SECOND SET of TEN.
• Similarly, a CENTURY is when you have ONE YEAR and 99 more.
11th set is FIRST OF 2nd 100
The NUMBER 100 is the FIRST SET CALLED A “CENTURY.”
• FROM 1 to 100.
• Not 0 to 100
• 0 is nothing.
• The first year that makes up the SECOND CENTURY would be 101!
• The LAST DIGIT 1 always indicates the beginning of the next set.
• Many people misunderstood the logic in using the term NEW MILLENNIUM.
• The NEW MILLENNIUM did not start in the year 2000.
• The Number 2000 is actually the LAST number of the century that started in 1901.
• You start with 1 and end with 10.
• Or 1901 and end with 2000 for a millennium.
• So since Jesus Christ, the SECOND MILLENNIUM ENDED in 2000.
• The THIRD millennium started in 2001.
• The NEW THIRD millennium started in 2001.
• 2000 is the last year of the SECOND MILLENNIUM.
• 200 is the last of a complete set, not the first of an additional set.
That means the 601st year of NOAH’S LIFE STARTED HIS SEVENTH CENTURY!
• The seventh CENTURY of his life would END on 700.
• NOAH LEFT THE CENTURY OF HIS FLESH AND
HUMANITY, figuratively speaking, and ENTERED THE CENTURY OF REST!
• The FIRST DAY OF THE FIRST MONTH OF THE 601st year of his life!!
Everything about NOAH speaks of REST!
• His name means rest.
• The dove found REST for her feet.
• The ark RESTED on Ararat the SEVENTH MONTH.
• The dove came back he waited 7 days.
• Let dove out again and it came back with leaf, waited seven more days.
• 7 days, plus 7 days, and that second 7th day was first day of the 7th century!
• 7 – 7 – and a big 7!
Peter spoke of NOAH and the flood like baptism today.
1 Peter 3:20-21 KJV Which sometime were disobedient, when once
the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was
a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by
water. (21) The like figure whereunto even baptism doth
also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but
the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of
Jesus Christ:
Jesus went into the KINGDOM!
1 Peter 3:22 KJV Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right
hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto
him.
1 Peter 4:1-2 KJV Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us
in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that
hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; (2) That
he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts
of men, but to the will of God.
No coincidence baptism is associated with NOAH and mentions Christ
resurrected to sit at the right hand, having suffered in the flesh
ONCE, which is the concept we must to ARM OUR MINDS WITH!
• We cease from all the slaving works of fleshliness and REST IN KINGDOM ENTHRONEMENT WITH HIM!
