God Remembered Rest
November 10, 2013
Genesis 5:28 And Lamech lived an
hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:
Genesis 5:29 And he
called his name Noah, saying, This same shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our
hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.
Genesis 8:1 And God remembered Noah, and every
living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God
made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged;
Noah's name
means REST or COMFORT.
- He was foretold to
bring comfort mankind in regards to the ground that God cursed.
God sent a flood to remove the sin
from the earth and thereby remove the curse that Adam's sin brought into the world.
Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he
said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of
which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the
ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
It seems Lamech may have thought
Noah would be the Messiah first promised to when God cursed the serpent and said the
seed of the woman would crush his head.
- Noah was a
husbandman and a planter of vineyards that no one had done before.
- Ploughing the earth
would ease man's curse of labour.
- Wine is said to
give man cheer to his heart.
- Noah invented
farming.
- Invented wine, it
seems.
But spiritually, he carried
creation out of sinful world into a cleansed world.
Like Jesus, the true Noah, would do
in the ARK OF HIS BODY THROUGH THE FLOOD OF DEATH.
It is said that the flood mentioned
by Peter is not Noah's flood but a previous one after satan fell.
2Peter 3:5 For this they
willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth
standing out of the water and in the water:
2Peter 3:6 Whereby the world
that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God
moved upon the face of the waters.
We read of the waters receding the
third day.
Genesis 1:9 And God said, Let
the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land
appear: and it was so.
Genesis 1:10 And God called the
dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that
it was good.
Genesis 1:11 And God said, Let
the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit
after his kind, whose seed is in itself,
upon the earth: and it was so.
Genesis 1:12 And the
earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose
seed was in itself, after his kind: and
God saw that it was good.
The third day was the day Jesus
resurrected!
Dry land appeared.
Notice that when Genesis 1:2 said
earth was void and without form, we find the same terms here:
Jeremiah 4:23 I beheld the
earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
Jeremiah 4:24 I beheld the
mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
Jeremiah 4:25 I beheld, and, lo,
there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
Jeremiah 4:26 I beheld, and, lo,
the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the
presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
This occurred when the earth was
void and without form.
Notice the same circumstances are
mentioned here when Lucifer fell.
Isaiah 14:12 How art thou fallen
from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which
didst weaken the nations!
Isaiah 14:13 For thou hast said
in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of
God: I will sit also upon the mount of
the congregation, in the sides of
the north:
Isaiah 14:14 I will ascend above
the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
Isaiah 14:15 Yet thou shalt be
brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Isaiah 14:16 They that see thee
shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made
the earth to tremble, that did shake
kingdoms;
Isaiah 14:17 That made the world
as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of
his prisoners?
And if Jeremiah said those events
occurred before the earth was void and without form, making it void and without form,
then Lucifer seemingly fell at that time.
God did not make the earth without
form.
Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the
LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath
established it, he created it not in vain (Heb. "WITHOUT FORM"), he formed it to
be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:2 And the earth was
without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God
moved upon the face of the waters.
God flooded the earth in judgment.
But Noah came to give rest like
Jesus!
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all
ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Hebrews 4:3 For we which have
believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter
into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the
world.
Look at this CHIASTIC PATTERN found
in Genesis' account of the flood.

The above is a CHIASM of Genesis 6 through 9 covering the entire story
of the flood!
Even the numbers of days is in
chiastic pattern here...
7 - 7 - 40 - 150 -- 150 - 40 - 7 - 7
What a miracle of God's Word!
- Genesis is not a
bunch of legends thrown together that were man's nonsensical ideas of religion.
- God had his hand in
this, that the writer did not even realize, by the way we see this ingenious pattern.
Notice that Noah's entrance into
the ark is paralleled by the raven and dove leaving the ark.
- Flesh and Spirit.
- Raven and dove.
- Led by the flesh or
walk after the Spirit.
The shutting of the ark is parallel
with the opening of the window.
- The window pointed
up to heaven and not the ground, because Noah released the birds through them to see if the waters
were abated, which he would not have done if the window let him see the earth.
- Just open the
window and look, otherwise.
- We must seek HEAVEN
in order to proceed into this new world without sin and LIVE!
Noah is like Jesus.
The covenant with Noah in Genesis 6
is parallel to the covenant with all flesh in Genesis 9.
But the focus of it all is that GOD
REMEMBERED NOAH.
- That is the focal
point of the CHIASTIC pattern.
- Noah means REST.
- GOD REMEMBERED REST!
- REMEMBERED COMFORT.
- And the destruction
and curse of the flood was REVERSED.
- "ARARAT" MEANS
"CURSE IS REVERSED!"
God remembered REST and the plan to
bring deliverance to mankind from the curse in the days of the Garden of Eden when
Adam sinned.
Like the ark, Jesus died and we
were baptized into that death to be carried with Him thru death into the resurrection
into newness of life.
A rainbow indicated the world would
not be destroyed by floods again.
Genesis 9:14 And it shall come
to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
Genesis 9:15 And I will remember
my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and
the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.
Floods represent death.
Revelation shows a flooded space
before the throne of God where a rainbow stood.
Rev 4:2 And immediately I was in
the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
Rev 4:3 And he that sat was to
look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the
throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
Rev 4:4 And round about the
throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders
sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Rev 4:5 And out of the throne
proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of
fire burning before the throne, which are
the seven Spirits of God.
Rev 4:6 And before the throne
there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round
about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.
And Jesus as a LAMB walks across
this sea to the throne to get a BOOK like Noah got a COVENANT from God on the
island-like mountain top of Ararat.
Genesis 9:12 And God said, This
is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature
that is with you, for perpetual
generations:
Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in
the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Rev 5:1 And I saw in the right
hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside,
sealed with seven seals.
Rev 5:7 And he came and took the
book out of the right hand of him that sat upon the throne.
As God gave Noah dominion over the
earth in Genesis 9, Jesus conquered and made us kings and priests.
Rev 5:9 And they sung a new
song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou
wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and
tongue, and people, and nation;
Rev 5:10 And hast made us unto
our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
God remembered the rest Adam had
before he lost access to the tree of life where God planted the Tree and it would make
man live forever, to where Adam had to work the land with thorns to impede his
progress, and work to eat and die anyway.
God brought it back through the
greater Noah named JESUS!
All by the death in which He was
like an ark to carry us in his body to a resurrection into newness of life!
