"A TEMPLE AFTER THE PATTERN"

Exod 25:8-9 And let them make me
a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew
thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the
instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it].
Psal 2:1-7 Why do the heathen rage, and
the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves,
and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his
anointed, [saying], Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their
cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall
have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and
vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill
of Zion. I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou [art]
my Son; this day have I begotten thee.
Psal 118:22-24 The stone [which] the builders
refused is become the head [stone] of the corner. This is the LORD'S doing;
it [is] marvellous in our eyes. This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath
made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
We read of these in the New Testament and find an interpretation to
Psalm 2:7. We find WHEN and WHAT DAY the Son was begotten of the Father. The answer may surprise you.
Acts 13:32 And we declare unto
you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,
God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised
up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my
Son, this day have I begotten thee.
The day Jesus rose from the grave was the day that He was begotten of the
Father.
Psalm 118 mentioned the DAY the Lord made when He set the rejected cornerstone as head of the corner. What DAY was that?
Acts 4:10-12 Be it known unto you
all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ
of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] by
him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which
was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under
heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
The day Jesus rose from the dead was the day the cornerstone was laid as
head of the corner of a building to be built.
-
The cornerstone is where the building is started.
-
All the building is determined by the setting of the cornerstone.
-
Everything starts with it.
God made Adam from the dust of the ground.
-
Adam was a full grown man when created.
-
He was the beginning of the human race.
-
He was a many-membered man.
Gene 5:1-2 This [is] the book of the
generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of
God made he him; Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and
called their name Adam, in the day when they were created.
-
"Adam" became the name for all mankind.
-
Adam never knew a childhood.
-
He did not have earthly parents.
-
His name was the first universal name.
-
Adam was made IN THE IMAGE OF GOD.
-
He was PATTERNED after God.
-
He was meant to be the TRUE TEMPLE of God.
We are told the following:
1Cor 15:22 For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
Jesus Christ was made the first of a new creation.
-
The great Psalm that referred to The son, "This day have I begotten thee,"
is speaking about the day Jesus Christ resurrected from the grave. Jesus Christ, like Adam, was a full grown man when he was said to have been begotten of the Father. About 33 years of age. And like Adam, Jesus is a many-membered man.
-
One would think that the day He was begotten was speaking about the day Mary heard Gabriel
tell her that she should bring forth a Son and call His name Jesus.
-
Pointing towards the birth in Bethlehem.
-
But it is not.
-
It is pointing towards the resurrection from the dead.
-
When Jesus would also become the Beginning of a new creation.
-
This day of resurrection was the day the cornerstone was made the head
of the corner.
His name is the last universal Name.
-
All believers are baptized into His name.
Colo 1:18 And he is the head of the
body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that
in all [things] he might have the preeminence.
He became Head of a new race of people who were changed and made new creatures
when He rose again.
- Jesus was the FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD.
- This is how He is considered begotten from by the Father on the day of resurrection.
- On that day He became the beginning of a new humanity.
- It was only because of His resurrection that we could be born again into this family.
-
There was a NEW TEMPLE to be built then.
-
A new Image of God existed.
-
When we rise with Him in new life, in God's eyes it is a resurrection with
Christ that occurred the same day He rose again.
-
God was in Jesus Christ.
-
He dwelled in Jesus.
-
God wanted to dwell in Adam, and that would have happened if Adam ate the
fruit of life.
-
God's Life would have been in Adam.
-
But Adam put something else in him.
Adam was a cornerstone that should have been the beginning of a temple
for God to dwell in.
But Jesus came, filled with God's Life.
-
And in order for there to be many people born into this family, as people
who are filled with God's life, there had to be a Church.
-
There has to be an Adam and an Eve.
-
People were intended to be born into this kingdom.
-
Jesus is the NEW ADAM.
-
The church is the NEW EVE.
In Heaven there is a temple.
-
God dwells in it.
-
And He told Moses to build a tabernacle after a certain Pattern.
-
It was a pattern of the true heavenly tabernacle.
-
And it was so similar to the heavenly one that God actually dwelt inside
it after it was built.
-
His glory filled it.
-
But a true temple exists.
-
Heb 8:2 speaks of the temple God pitched.
When Moses came down from the mountain, His face shone like the sun.
-
People had to put a veil over his face since it was so bright.
-
Deep within the Tabernacle's holiest of holies, that same glory Moses saw
was shining brightly.
-
God dwelled in a tabernacle made with hands.
The New Testament says that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost.
-
God originally wanted man to be the temple.
-
But Adam did not put life into himself.
-
Adam was supposed to be the holiest of holies.
Moses face shone while on the mountain seeing the pattern for the tabernacle.
Like Moses went on a mountain, Peter and John saw Jesus on a mountain.
-
And they saw His face shine like the Sun.
-
What was God trying to say?
-
The same thing occurred before when Moses was on a mountain to receive
a PATTERN to BUILD a House of God.
-
Like Moses was to see the pattern of the tabernacle, Peter and John saw
Jesus.
-
Jesus is the pattern of the Church.
-
Jesus said He would build His church upon the Rock.
-
He is building His church right now.
-
He is doing it after the pattern of HIMSELF.
Roma 8:29 For whom he did foreknow,
he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son,
that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
We are being conformed into His image.
-
We are a grand temple of God.
-
Made after God's image for Him to dwell in.
-
After the pattern.
-
Jesus "housed" the Spirit of God.
-
He flowed forth the Spirit of God perfectly.
Peter and James and John saw Jesus transfigure on the mountain.
-
And Then Elijah appeared with Moses.
-
Peter then told the Lord that they should build three temples.
-
Peter had the right principle, but the wrong interpretation.
-
Perhaps Peter recalled that Moses was on a mountain and his face shone
when he received the PATTERN to build a tabernacle.
-
But A cloud covered the mountain and lifted, leaving Jesus standing alone.
-
And God's voice said, "This is my Son, Hear Him."
-
In other words, "No, Peter. We are not here to build a temple made
with hands. I am showing you the TRUE PATTERN. Jesus Christ
is the TRUE PATTERN. And the temple will be built by MYSELF.
And YOU will be the temple. A temple consisting of PEOPLE. Lively
stones. A Spiritual House.
Adam was made in God's image.
-
After the pattern.
-
To house God's Spirit.
-
He should have been the cornerstone of a Temple of God.
-
God wanted Adam to HAVE LIFE IN HIM from the fruit of life.
-
But he did not "house" God's Spirit.
Hebr 3:6 But Christ as a son over his
own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence
and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
We are the HOUSE OF GOD.
-
Many say, "Let's go to church."
-
The statements we use actually destroy the awesome truth of God's purpose.
-
WE ARE THE CHURCH!
-
"Let's go to the House of God."
-
WE ARE THE HOUSE OF GOD.
Exod 19:5-6 Now therefore, if ye will
obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar
treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth [is] mine: And ye
shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These [are]
the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
The reason God wanted to make Israel a nation of priests was because all
the world was His.
-
In other words, He needs vessels that He can flow through.
-
He is Spirit and the world is physical.
-
So He needs to Spirit-baptize people and make them priests.
-
Priests are go-betweens for the world and God.
-
THerefore He can move into this world through us and fill this world with
His love.
-
This world can be swept over with His goodness.
-
We are filled with His Spirit and flow forth His goodness into the dark,
dank world of sinfulness.
1Pet 2:5 Ye also, as lively
stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1Pet 2:9-10 But ye [are] a
chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a
peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath
called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past
[were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained
mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
We are the SPIRITUAL TEMPLE.
-
THE SPIRITUAL PRIESTS.
-
Why?
-
Because the earth is God's earth.
-
And He wants to touch it.
-
But He needs you and I.
Moses went upon a mountain and received instructions to build a tabernacle
for God to dwell in, built after a pattern he saw up there.
-
Peter and John saw Jesus glisten and shine in glory.
-
And they wanted to build a physical set of temples, but a voice said, "HEAR
HIM."
-
In other words, "NO. You are not to build a physical set of temples.
You are to be part of a great temple called the Church. And it is
patterned after JESUS CHRIST. He is the pattern. Listen to
His words. His Words are Spirit and Life."
-
His words will shape your life.
-
They are building you into a temple of God.
It was the WORD of God that created all things.
-
As you listen to the Word, you are changed.
-
The Word works in your life.
-
It shapes you and conforms you.
God wanted to fill the earth with His glory.
-
But he is a Spirit.
-
So He needed a temple to fill and flow through into the world.
Ezek 43:2 And, behold, the glory of
the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice [was] like
a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory.
Ezek 43:4-5 And the glory of the LORD
came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect [is]
toward the east. So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner
court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
This is the same terminology used to speak of PEOPLE
receiving the Spirit -- FILLED (Acts 2:4).
Don't make the mistake Peter made and think that
this is a physical house.
-
This is the Church.
-
A spiritual House.
-
Ezekiel saw a vision here.
Ezek 47:1-2 Afterward he brought me again
unto the door of the house; and, behold, waters issued out from under
the threshold of the house eastward: for the forefront of the house
[stood toward] the east, and the waters came down from under from the right
side of the house, at the south [side] of the altar. Then brought he me
out of the way of the gate northward, and led me about the way without
unto the utter gate by the way that looketh eastward; and, behold, there
ran out waters on the right side.
God's glory filled the house and then flowed out like a river.
Haba 2:14 For the earth shall be
filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover
the sea.
How?
-
By filling the temple, and then pouring out.
Let's get filled with the Holy Ghost!
-
And I do not mean just HAVE the Holy Ghost, but be FILLED with it.
-
You are not FILLED with the Spirit if you talk in tongues once a month
or feel a little touch every rare moment.
-
FILLED means to be overflowing.
-
And you can have the Spirit in you but not be overflowing with it.
May we all be pasrt of this TRUE TEMPLE built after the PATERN of Jesus
Christ.
-
He is the cornerstone.
-
The cornerstone is what positions the entire building.
-
All is built from that cornerstone.
