UNSTABLE SAND
AND SOLID-ROCK PROTECTION

Matthew 7:21-27 Not every one that
saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven;
but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say
to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and
in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye
that work iniquity. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine,
and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house
upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds
blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon
a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them
not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the
sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew,
and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
In this portion of scripture, Jesus explained the issue of what it
takes to enter into the Kingdom of heaven.
-
Consider the issue.
-
Entering the Kingdom Of Heaven.
I have always heard it said that this scripture applies to the day when
we will either enter Heaven or be lost and enter into Hell, to put it plainly,
after this life is over.
-
But I looked closely at this passage and noticed something.
-
Is entering Heaven going to be like living in a house built on a rock,
where storms blow and other people's houses built on sand fall in destruction?
-
Will there be storms blowing in Heaven that also strike houses "built on
sand"?
-
The same storms that will hit houses built on rock are the storms that
will also hit houses built on sand.
-
You see, Jesus further explained what He was trying to say, as He so often
did, with a parable.
-
And He explained what it is for people who enter into the Kingdom of Heaven
by saying such people are like those who build houses on the Rock that
withstand storms.
-
He said that doing the will of the Father was the same thing as hearing
His sayings and doing them.
Notice what Jesus said in John 7.
John 7:16-17 Jesus answered them, and said,
My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do
his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God,
or [whether] I speak of myself.
When Jesus referred to the will of the Father, He was referring to the
words that He spoke.
-
And He called those words and teachings, or doctrines, "His will," meaning
the Father's will.
So when we read....
Matthew 7:24 Therefore whosoever
heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them...
...we know He is referring to doing the Father's will.
-
The "sayings" of the Son were the "will" and "doctrine" of the Father.
If you do the will of the Father, you are hearing Jesus' words and doing
them, you are entering into a place of safety RIGHT NOW IN THIS LIFE.
-
There will be no more storms in Heaven.
-
But you enter a HAVEN OF REST.
-
You enter into a tower and are safe.
Proverbs 18:10 The name of the LORD [is]
a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
-
The NAME of the Lord is a tower we can run into.
-
But we also read:...
Hebrews 12:25-28 See that ye refuse not
him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on
earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from
him that speaketh from heaven: Whose voice then shook the earth:
but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only,
but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing
of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those
things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving
a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we
may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
God's KINGDOM cannot be shaken.
-
And when God's people are INSIDE that Kingdom, when the SHAKING COMES,
they will be the only ones left standing.
-
The Kingdom cannot be removed.
-
You can shake everything else, but the KINGDOM OF GOD ALONE WILL STAND.
So, if the NAME of the Lord is a strong tower we can run into and be safe,
and the KINGDOM of God cannot be shaken when everything else shakes, then
BOTH SPEAK OF THE SAME THING.
The will of the Father is noted in Jesus' prayer.
Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, if thou
be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine,
be done
The fool built his house on sand.
-
Man was made from sand and dust of earth.
-
Doing God's will is building on a Rock.
-
He is the ROCK of my salvation.
-
Those who refuse His will are on the SAND of their
destruction.
-
They do THEIR OWN WILLS.
-
They do HUMAN will instead of God's Will.
-
But when the winds blow, the storms will blow their
houses over.
-
Only those who do God's will are SAFE upon the ROCK.
-
They ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD.
John 3:5 Jesus
answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water
and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
You must be born again to ENTER the Kingdom.
-
If you want this protection, you must be born of
water and Spirit.
-
But Jesus also adds that you must do the Father's
will to enter the Kingdom.
-
Its a safe kingdom.
-
Its a kingdom that cannot be removed when everything
will be shaken.
Revelation 22:14 Blessed
are
they that do his commandments, that they may have right to
the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the
city.
You can ENTER in and enjoy fruit of Life NOW if you
do His commandments, or HIS WILL.
-
Doing His commandments causes us to ENTER through
the gates of the City.
Matthew 16:18 And
I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build
my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
The gates of hell cannot come against the House on
the Rock.
-
Winds of hell cannot tear it down.
-
Prevailing winds?
-
Not at all.
-
The winds of hell cannot prevail against the church.
You enter PROTECTION when you ENTER THE KINGDOM.
Remember the GRACE that saved you?
-
Someone called it "unmerited favour."
-
And that is a good description.
-
But not all.
-
It is also DIVINE EMPOWERMENT.
2 Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace
be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God,
and of Jesus our Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us
all things that
pertain unto life and godliness, through the
knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
MULTIPLIED GRACE.
-
MULTIPLIED PEACE.
-
Wow!
-
Imagine GRACE multiplied to you.
-
The thing that saved you from sin, MULTIPLIED for you.
-
And PEACE.
-
When all else is going wrong, God's PEACE can keep you.
-
PEACE in the midst of a storm.
-
MULTIPLIED PEACE.
-
How?
-
THROUGH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIM.
-
Jesus said, "I never knew you," to those whose houses would fall.
-
They did not receive GRACE to stand in the storm by being protected.
God's Protection.
-
Divine empowerment MULTIPLIED.
Mathew 7 shows Jesus saying I NEVER KNEW YOU to those who could not enter
the protection.
-
He said they could not enter because they did not do the Father's will.
-
They did their own wills.
-
They would not be protected from the storms.
-
The WISE who do the Father's will are protected.
-
They are WISE because they will be protected for doing His will.
-
THEY KNOW JESUS.
The word KNOW here is an intimate deep love, like ADAM KNEW EVE.
-
Intimate physical love.
-
We can KNOW JESUS by doing the will of the Father.
Jesus said NOT MY WILL BUT THINE BE DONE when He prayed to the Father.
-
And when we have the same will, we are intimately in union with Jesus.
Beyond one with His death, burial and resurrection, we are ONE IN THE FATHER'S
WILL.
-
The mind of Christ was to do the Father's will.
-
We are one in SPIRIT when saved, but becoming ONE with Him in SOUL AND
MIND comes next.
-
And HE PROTECTS US.
People who KNOW HIM are protected IN HIS KINGDOM.
That is why Peter said,
2Peter 1:2-3 Grace and peace be
multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our
Lord, According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that
pertain
unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called
us to glory and virtue:
KNOWING Jesus is DOING THE FATHER'S WILL.
-
It puts out the houses of our lives upon HIS ROCK.
-
His Kingdom of safety.
-
And Peter said KNOWING HIM causes grace and peace to be multiplied to us.
But Peter also spoke of the folks on the sand.
-
The house on the sand FELL.
2Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets
also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you,
who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that
bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2Peter 2:14 Having eyes full of adultery,
and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart
they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children
UNSTABLE SOULS.
-
False Prophecy is WINDS of hell.
Paul said we need ministries to feed us God's Word...
Ephesians 4:14 That we henceforth
be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind
of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness,
whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
And the WINDS of Matthew's words about the winds that blew on the house
on rock and the house on sand, are these winds of false doctrine.
-
Peter said false prophets beguile UNSTABLE SOULS.
-
UNSTABLE SOULS are like houses on SAND.
-
SAND IS UNSTABLE.
-
These souls do THEIR OWN WILL.
-
They do not KNOW JESUS.
-
Had they KNOWN JESUS, they would have been STABLE on ROCK, and the WINDS
could not blow them over.
-
God's GRACE AND PEACE would be multiplied to them.
-
They would STAND.
2Peter 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing
ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away
with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
Peter also speaks of FALLING like the fool's house on sand FELL when the
winds blew.
-
Being stedfast is being on the ROCK.
2 Peter 3:18 But grow in grace,
and
in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
GROW IN GRACE AND IN KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS.
-
Grace is MULTIPLIED and keeps you SAFE.
-
Knowing Jesus is doing the Father's will.
-
Growing beyond that union of death, burial and resurrection, -- union of
spirit -- is the union of THE MIND OF CHRIST -- union of soul.
-
Grow in KNOWING HIM.
-
Let Him be able to say "I KNOW YOU."
Instead of doing what the WORD teaches, and thereby doing the Father's
will, many people do this with the Word.
2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his
epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard
to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable
wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
The ones who are unstable are the ones who do their own wills.
-
So naturally, they WREST scripture, or WRESTLE it to pieces.
-
They twist its true meaning.
2Peter 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing
that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of
him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
How can we be found of Him in peace?
-
How can we have the PEACE OF GOD multiplied?
-
What did chapter 1 say causes PEACE to be multiplied in us?
-
He said it was through THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD.
-
KNOWING HIM.
-
And what did Jesus say in Matthew 7 was the means to KNOW HIM?
-
DOING HIS WILL AND NOT OUR OWN.
Be DILIGENT to be found of him in peace.
"I never knew you" means:
-
YOU NEVER WERE DILIGENT ABOUT THIS.
-
YOU DID NOT THINK IT WAS VERY IMPORTANT.
-
YOU DID YOUR OWN WILL.
-
YOU ARE UNSTABLE.
-
I WILL NOT PROTECT YOU IN MY KINGDOM.
-
I WILL NOT MULTIPLY GRACE TO YOU.
-
I WILL NOT MULTIPLY PEACE TO YOU.
Thank God that He protects us from the storms the devil tries to destroy
us with!
-
It is worth it when we do the will of God.
