The First Curse-Free Birth

May 12, 2013

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

Notice how contrary to the above scenario the following events transpire.

Isaiah 66:5-14 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem. And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

Genesis gives us the account of how womankind was cursed to suffer pain in childbirth.

DARBY TRANSLATION Genesis 3:16 To the woman he said, I will greatly increase thy travail and thy pregnancy; with pain thou shalt bear children; and to thy husband shall be thy desire, and he shall rule over thee.

God’s plan was for Adam to do five things.
  • Notice the progressive ordering of these five things, starting from a point and progressing from that point to a goal.

Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

  1. Be fruitful. – Adam would have children.
  2. Multiply. – His children would have children and he would multiply.
  3. Replenish the earth. – Adam would then fill the earth due to multiplying.
  4. Subdue the earth. – Once having filled the void of earth, he would subdue it.
  5. Have dominion. –And once it was subdued he would enjoy DOMINION.

The Earth was two things before the days of Genesis started.

Genesis 1:2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

It was VOID and WITHOUT FORM.
  • Well, God chose to take care of these two things.

Isaiah 45:18 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

He, Himself FORMED the earth because it was WITHOUT FORM.
  • But we do not read that God filled the earth by Himself as He formed it by himself.
  • To FILL the earth, or REPLENISH it, God got Adam involved.
  • Man would REPLENISH THE EARTH.

And with Adam being said to cover the earth, we see that God looks at all of humanity as a single man – ADAM.
  • As Adam’s children and their children’s children, etc., multiplied, God would see it as Adam covering the earth.
  • One man.

So God and man were meant to work together.

What is man called in the Bible?

1Corinthians 11:7 For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God: but the woman is the glory of the man.
Man is the glory of God.

So when we read this statement:

Isaiah 6:3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory

...we reading a desire of God to take place and to occur in which God’s purpose for Adam would be fulfilled.

Man would fill the earth with himself, and thereby fill the earth with God’s
glory.
  • Wherever man would be, it was meant that God’s glory should be.
  • How would man be God’s glory?
  • Adam was meant to ingest the fruit of Life from the tree of Life, and thereby HOUSE God in himself acting as a temple of God’s Spirit.
And we saw that the two terms image of God and glory of God both go together as a description of mankind.
  • That is because man, as God’s image, is custom created by God to HOUSE God’s Spirit.
  • Being in His image best SUITS MAN to be God’s temple or house.
  • And with God’s Spirit in mankind, He can manifest through mankind and glory can flow out of man.
  • And with man carrying around God in this world, and covering the earth, the whole earth would be filled with God’s glory.

In light of this, it’s a shame that saved people who have God’s Spirit in them live such a lowly life and hardly desire at all to be used of God.
  • If they could only see this!

And the reason God made a woman for man, was because man needed a help that was suited for man’s need.

Genesis 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.

It was certainly not good for man to be alone, because God wanted man to
multiply.
  • He needed a help.
  • Woman would be that help.
  • Through woman, Adam would multiply.

Genesis 2:21-23 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

The word MADE in verse 22 is the Hebrew word BUILT.

Therefore we see the entire reason that Satan chose to tempt the woman and not the man.
  • She was Adam’s means of multiplying.
  • God wanted them both to eat the fruit of life and when man would multiply through her, the children would be blessed children of God.
  • So the devil tempted the woman to put something else within herself instead of the fruit of life of God’s Spirit.
  • The knowledge of good and evil.
  • (If the devil can get you to substitute true life from God’s Spirit with a mere very-religious-looking knowledge of good and evil, then he has no worries about you spreading God’s glory around.)

God wants us to have a great experience in Him of real LIFE, and not dead religion where you fill your head with knowledge of what is good and what is
evil.
  • He doesn't’t want mere knowledge in you.
  • He Himself wants to be in you!

And, therefore, it is no wonder that when God cursed the woman, who was supposed to birth Adam’s children and begin the multiplication of Adam throughout the world, that it was her childbearing that He targeted.
• God would increase her travail and her pregnancy so that in pain she would birth children.
• Not only physical pain, but in sorrow and pain that her children would not fulfill God’s will in bringing glory throughout the world.
• Sorrow that God’s plan was thwarted by her actions.
• Sorrow that a child would be born into a world that will put fears in its heart and tears in its eyes, and hatred and anger in its soul.
• Sorrow that the child might never become a child of God, but a seed of the serpent, before time is no more.

The travail and sorrow and pain of a woman’s childbirthing is a message to us of the great tragedy of mankind’s fall from God and His will for us all.
• A child’s birth would be painful.

But since Adam failed, God planned that a new Adam come.

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.

And like the first Adam, this Adam, Jesus Christ, laid down His life and died on
the cross.

John 19:31 The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him. But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

Notice that the piercing of His side proved His death had occurred.
• So as the woman came From Adam’s side, you could say that the CHURCH-PEOPLE came from Jesus’ side or JESUS’ DEATH.

And once this lady was created by the cross of Jesus – which you can see if you
compare Adam’s sleep with Jesus’ death – Jesus had HIS BRIDE.

Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

And this lady was not filled with the knowledge of good and evil.

• She is the one through whom Jesus will multiply Himself.
• She is holy.
• She is not a denomination as some might think.
• She is the true people of God who follow the Bible fully.

And this lady gave birth to many children SUDDENLY.

Acts 2:1-4 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

SUDDENLY the Spirit of God came into that room.
• And oh so suddenly, 120 new babies were born.
• Like a baby crying out once born announcing to all that it is alive and here in this world, all 120 of these people spoke in tongues.

Isaiah 66:5-8 Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the
LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.

Who ever heard of such a thing as a woman bringing forth children before her pain came?
• A woman is supposed to be cursed in child birth with pain and travail.
• But BEFORE HER PAIN CAME, this mother was delivered of a manchild.
• There is a NOISE from the city.

Acts 2:5-6 And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven. Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

It was NOISED.

• They were confounded.

Who ever heard of a mother who brings forth a child without pain and travail?

• As soon as Zion travailed she brought forth her children.
• In other words, she no sooner travailed than her children were already born!!
• Some take this to mean there must be travail and pain to win souls.
• But this statement is saying the opposite!
• It's saying that nobody heard such as thing that a woman would bear children before her pain came – for she no sooner travailed than her children were born!

There can be only one answer!
• She is not cursed!
• The curse is not upon her.
• Whoever is born of this mother is FREE FROM THE CURSE OF SINS!

No wonder, because she was holy, and came from Christ, this body of believers that the term CHURCH identifies.
• And her children are born with God’s LIFE inside them!
• There is no sorrow, because these are children of God!

It was SUDDENLY that the Spirit came.
• It was so fast and swift a birth.
• Who heard such a thing?

Isaiah 66:8-9 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring
forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

"Don’t you think I am God and I mean business when I say I am going to get what I desired to have since Adam’s time?!"

Isaiah 66:10 Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love
her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her:

AN ENTIRE NATION IN ONE DAY?

1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

The CHURCH is a holy NATION.
A nation was born in one day!

We see this in the New Testament too!

Galatians 4:26 But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Isaiah 66:11-14 That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her
glory. For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in
Jerusalem. And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his
servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

You are the love and joy of a proud Father, GOD HIMSELF.
• He looks at the Christians as kids dandled on the knees of their mother.
• He tells us that we are comforted in Jerusalem.

And verse 14 says a powerful statement.

• WHEN YOU SEE THIS, YOUR HEART SHALL REJOICE.
• YOUR BONES SHALL FLOURISH LIKE AN HERB.
• THE HAND OF THE LORD SHALL BE KNOWN TOWARDS HIS SERVANTS.

Folks, can you see what this is saying?
• If you can see this, your heart shall rejoice.

Never look down on yourself if you’re a Christian.
• And if you’re not a Christian, what are you waiting for?
• The CHURCH and the CHILDREN OF GOD are the pride and joy of God the Father.
• So many Christians suffer from spiritual blindness and cannot see this.
• They cannot see how just being who they are, God’s kids, makes them His joy.
• Its not a matter of worth, but birth.
• But if they can SEE THIS revelation of truth, they will rejoice and never be downcast on themselves again!

We came from His death!
• Everything from our pasts is gone forever!
• We are curse-free.
• That means our sin is gone!

If we are children of the mother, Jerusalem, then WE ARE CURSE FREE!
• We’re free from sin.
• All those who have this NEW BIRTH EXPERIENCE are God’s children.
• Acts 2:38 says you repent, are baptized in water in Jesus’ name, and are filled with the Holy Ghost.
• And as a new baby takes its first breath and cries out announcing its presence in this new world, when you receive the BREATH OF LIFE of the Holy Ghost, you will speak in tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance.
• How did the apostles know that someone received the Holy Ghost?
• Acts 10:45-46 says they heard them speak with other tongues.

So lets get back to God’s purpose.
• Christ is fruitful.
• He is multiplying.
• He is filling the earth with Himself. As God would consider all of Adam’s descendant as ADAM having filled the earth, one man is considered to be filling
this earth, as many children are born. JESUS IS THAT MAN.
• And He is subduing the earth.
• And He will HAVE DOMINION!
