APPLYING
CHRIST'S VICTORY TO REAL-LIFE
SITUATIONS IS LIVING IN THE MOST HOLY PLACE

We have recently ministered about several pictures showing our UNION to
the death of Jesus Christ
First we spoke about DANIEL’S LIONS’ DEN.
Then Naaman’s cleansing from his leprosy.
Finally the Shunamite’s son laid in the bed of Elisha.
All these accounts sent home one common theme.
· The power of our Union to the death of Jesus Christ.
· It is what saved us, and what gives us victory in practical
life as well.
Pauline Blair noted something to me, that magnifies the overall picture
even more.
· The ROOM WHERE ELISHA SLEPT not only played the part of the
TOMB of Jesus where we can say we laid in death with Him when we got
saved, but also the HOLY PLACE AND THE MOST HOLY PLACE.
2 Kings 4:10 KJV Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the
wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and
a candlestick: and it shall
be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
In that chamber was the bed, plus a stool, candlestick and table.
· The holy place housed a seven branched candlestick, a table of
showbread, and a golden altar of incense.
· The Hebrew word for STOOL is actually translated as THRONE
elsewhere in the KJV.
· The mercyseat of the Ark of the Covenant in the most holy
place was a representation of God’s throne on earth.
· Perhaps the BED speaks of the ALTAR of INCENSE.
· Jesus was laid in a tomb in death as a sacrifice, as altars
are used for sacrifice.
· And his sacrifice was a sweet smelling savour to God.
What is interesting is that there is a similar picture in the TOMB OF
JESUS when I read these words:
John 20:11-12 KJV But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and
as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre, (12) And
seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other
at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
The ark of the covenant had two cherubim on the mercyseat, one at each
end.
· Between the two cherubim was where the blood was sprinkled,
just as Jesus’ had once laid between the place where the two
angels sat.
So the picture of the holy place and holiest of holies is likewise
connected with the TOMB OF JESUS.
· And a connection that ties together the thought of the place
where he lay dead being connected with the MOST HOLY PLACE, is that the
blood that was sprinkled on the ark of the covenant (while the ark
represented the throne) came from the BRAZEN ALTAR in the outer court.
· So the route the blood took was from the place of death and
bloodshed on the altar to the ark of the covenant in the most holy
place.
· Jesus ascended into heaven with his blood into the holiest
place of heaven
AND SAT ON THE THRONE IN KINGDOM DOMINION.
· WE DIED WITH HIM AND ARE SEATED THERE WITH HIM AS WELL.
So this whole concept of our union with Christ’s death that I
have been ministering about is connected with the HOLIEST OF HOLIES
which is the room depicting the THRONE OF JESUS CHRIST from which HE
PRESENTLY RULES.
This is what we have been preaching!
· Our death with Christ gives us POWER over the enemies we face
in everyday life.
· We need to actually practice our faith in this in everyday
life.
· Let us live the WAY OF THE FAITH-LIFE!
You could say that we begin this life by our deaths with Jesus, and
mature when we APPLY THAT VICTORY over sin and enjoy VICTORY OVER EVERY
OTHER
LESSER ENEMY WE WILL EVER FACE IN LIFE.
· This place of MATURITY IN THE SPIRIT is LIVING IN THE MOST
HOLY PLACE.
Recall we spoke of Moses standing before the burning bush, where he
realized trying to overcome Egypt on his own was a failure, and by
looking at himself like the BRANCH on the burning bush he would not
burn out (as he did before), and see God’s LIFE empower Him.
· We ministered in detail about this explaining how we need to
rely on the Spirit of God in our lives, instead of dealing with life in
fleshly power.
· That experience on holy Ground is ENTRANCE INTO THE MOST HOLY
PLACE.
· Spiritual maturity.
· This is where the teachings and beliefs are more than a
philosophy in our hearts, BUT WE ACTUALLY LIVE IN PRACTICAL WAYS.
· Making something PRACTICAL means you are actually doing
something with it in the real world.
· We need to bring all our faith in God into the real world AND
LIVE BY IT.
Exodus 4:1-5 KJV And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will
not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD
hath not appeared unto thee. (2) And the LORD said unto him, What is
that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. (3) And he said, Cast it on the
ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and
Moses fled from before it. (4) And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth
thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and
caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: (5) That they may believe
that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
God showed Moses how they would believe that GOD APPEARED TO MOSES.
· These things represent what we need to be able to DO IN THE
REAL WORLD before people will really believe WE MET GOD.
Notice that the rod was cast down and turned into a serpent.
· Moses ran away from it!
· THAT IS USUALLY WHAT MOST BELIEVERS DO.
· THEY RUN FROM THE DEVIL.
· We need to be able to grab the devil and deal with him when we
meet up with him, instead of running away in fear.
Another thing this may also speak about is how WE FELL FROM THE HAND OF
GOD, when we used to be BRANCHES, and we
became SINFUL with the nature of the serpent who tempted Adam in the
Garden.
· God wants to PICK US BACK UP AGAIN AND RESTORE US AS HIS
BRANCHES.
God told Moses to put his hand in his bosom and pull it out again.
· It became LEPROUS.
· LEPROSY represents the UNCLEANNESS OF SIN.
· And he did it a second time and the hand was no longer
leprous.
· We need to deal with the SIN IN OUR OWN FLESH as well as the
devil in this world.
· We need victory in our lives where we do not sin all the time.
Victory over the devil in the world, and getting ourselves back in the
hand of God as HIS EXTENSIONS in this world, BRANCHES, as well as
getting a HANDLE on the SIN IN OUR OWN FLESH and overcoming it.
THIS IS MOST HOLY PLACE lifestyle!
· When people see this happening in your life, THEY WILL KNOW
YOU MET GOD!
This needs to be PRACTICED IN OUR LIVES as we face situations.
We died with Jesus and we are seated with Him in heavenly places ON HIS
THRONE.
· Our lives need to reflect that.
· Make the seating PRACTICAL!
When we can identify with Jesus Christ’s death, as we discussed
with the SHUNAMITE’S SON laid by his mother on the place where
Elisha laid, where he resurrected, -- IF WE CAN ACTUALLY DO THAT when
we face struggles instead of forget about it, WE ARE LIVING LIKE WE ARE
KINGS AND PRIESTS and ACTUALLY RULING IN THE REAL WORLD.
But this rulership is over sin in our own flesh and over the devil.
· It is not taking political positions in government and
becoming secular mayors and secular presidents.
· It is SPIRITUAL kingship.
When Moses used his hand and his staff he was THE FIRST ONE IN THE
HISTORY OF MANKIND TO LIVE A PRACTICAL LIFE OF FAITH.
· He brought FAITH into every situations!
· INTO THE REAL WORLD!
Daniel showed the identification with Christ’s death as well
since the den looked like the tomb of Jesus with the stone rolled over
the door and sealed.
· Actually applying that death in practical ways in real life
situations is WHAT IT IS TO BE RULING WITH CHRIST.
· You are ENJOYING YOUR SEATING WITH CHRIST when you actually
take these things and live like them.
Another story that depicts the same truth is Noah’s ark.
· Entering the ARK when the flood came is like entering into the
death of Jesus when we are saved.
· Being inside the ark afterwards is like being in the TOMB of
death.
· And when Noah left the Ark, it was like RESURRECTING WITH
JESUS.
Now these things are spiritually ours already.
· But in the real world not many actually WALK IN NEWNESS OF
LIFE like they could.
· They are living very fleshly lives that are no different than
an unbelievers’ life.
· They do not bring faith into the practical world.
· They do not PRACTICE what they believe in everyday situations.
· So, leaving the ark speaks of actually LIVING THIS LIFE we
claim we believe we have.
And that takes time.
· One thing that shows what has to be done before we actually
LIVE a spiritual life in the everyday world with the power of God
actually affecting things around us is as follows:
Genesis 8:4-11 KJV And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the
seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. (5) And the
waters decreased continually until the tenth month: in the tenth month,
on the first day of the month, were the tops of the mountains seen. (6)
And it came to pass at the end of forty days, that Noah opened the
window of the ark which he had made: (7) And he sent forth a raven,
which went forth to and fro, until the waters were dried up from off
the earth. (8) Also he sent forth a dove from him, to see if the waters
were abated from off the face of the ground; (9) But the dove found no
rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark,
for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth
his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark. (10)
And he stayed yet other seven days; and again he sent forth the dove
out of the ark; (11) And the dove came in to him in the evening; and,
lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf pluckt off: so Noah knew that the
waters were abated from off the earth.
The RAVEN is a carrion eating bird, feeding on dead carcases.
· The dove represents the SPIRIT OF GOD.
Noah sent BOTH birds out, just like believers follow both the flesh and
the
Spirit of God, depending upon their disposition at the moment.
· A mixed life of RAVEN AND DOVE.
· True doublemindedness includes sometimes walking after the
flesh and other times after the Spirit.
· We have to realize the FLESH LEADS TO DEATH.
· When Noah noticed the raven did not come back, he held off
leaving the ark and made sure the dove came back before he ventured
out.
· When he stopped himself from going out when the raven’s
absence indicated the rave thought it was great to be out there now,
and waited til the dove never returned as well, HE DEPICTED A LIFE OF
WALKING NOT AFTER THE FLESH BUT AFTER THE SPIRIT.
And that dove brought an olive branch in its mouth, SPEAKING OF THE
ANOINTED WORD OF THE SPIRIT.
· There is world of ANOINTING OUT THERE for the one who walks
after the Spirit.
· THE MOST HOLY PLACE.
And when he ventured out after the dove did not return, HE WAS ATOP
ARARAT, whose name means THE CURSE IS REVERSED.
This is another picture of the HOLIEST OF HOLIES.
· Maturity.
· KINGSHIP.
· All these pictures show PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF TRUTH in the
real world of everyday life.
