(15) But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. (16) But whenever one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (17) Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. (18) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Notice Jesus RELEASED HIS SPIRIT when the veil of the temple was torn open.
"Revelation" means "UNVEILING".
- Jesus "UNVEILED" is Jesus "REVEALED".
- A revelation of Jesus Christ.
- Light coming from NT ministers and is not veiled.
Hebrews 10:19-22 Complete Apostles' Bible (19) Therefore, brothers, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, (20) by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, (21) and having a High Priest over the house of God, (22) let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies having been washed with clean water.
It’s as though our human spirits are veiled.
- We are spirit, soul and body.
- And spirit is like the innermost holiest of holies.
- Soul is like holy place, and body is outer court.
- The Word needs to get into our spirits.
- Revelation is received into our spirits.
- Turning our hearts to the Lord removes that veil.
- And your spirit is the only part of you that can receive revelation.
This is the reason Paul said the natural man cannot receive things of God because they’re spiritual.
1 Corinthians 2:12-14 Complete Apostles' Bible (12) Now we did not receive the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, in order that we might know the things granted to us by God; (13) which things we also speak, not in words taught in human wisdom, but in words taught by the Holy Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (14) But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
If something is spiritually discerned, that means the spirit is the part of us that discerns.
- The word NATURAL in Greek actually means SOULICAL.
- PSUCHIKOS.
- SOUL comes from the Greek PSUCHE, where we get the English word PSYCHE from.
- So a person who is SOUL oriented cannot discern things the spirit discerns.
- We must become SPIRIT oriented.
- 1 Cor 3 goes onto say the Corinthians were BODY oriented, using the word CARNAL.
- But a SOUL oriented person (natural) is someone who focuses on the things relating to self, the emotions and intellect.
- PSUCHE means ANIMAL LIFE.
It is like the SPIRIT is veiled over, and must be removed in order for people to receive REVELATION.
Paul spoke words that the Spirit taught, and this was what he meant in 2 Cor 3 by ministering the Spirit.

You CAN literally TAKE HIS WORDS TO HEART when your heart and spirit truly turn to Him.
Luke 6:46-48 Complete Apostles' Bible (46) "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say? (47) Everyone who comes to Me, and hears My words and does them, I will show you to whom he is like: (48) He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep and laid a foundation on the rock. And when a flood occurred, the stream burst upon that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.
To ask why we call Him Lord and not do the things He says is like asking, “Why do you get the revelation from the Father and know I am Lord, but refuse to get the further revelation from me, the SON OF GOD?”
- “The reason you got a revelation of WHO I AM – LORD – is so you would then be ready to hear my revelation, and realize you must obey IT AND DO IT, because YOU ARE MEANT TO OBEY A ‘LORD.’”
But those whom the Lord does not know refuse to receive His revelation and do it.
- So their hearts are NOT UNVEILED.
The wonderful thing about the unveiling of the heart and the revelation of Jesus’ glory is that UNVEILING is SIGNIFICANTLY PART OF THE CRUCIFIXION OF JESUS.
- Jesus preached about that CROSS when He spoke about building his church on the rock.
- When we turn our hearts to Him he removes a veiling and GLORY SHINES TO US.
- THINGS OF THE SPIRIT are received!
- When the Lord died on the cross, the veil over the holiest of holies ripped.
- It is no coincidence that the veil was torn when Jesus released His Spirit in death, and Paul speaks of ministry of Spirit that can only be administered to those whose hearts have a veil removed.
- And Jesus spoke to Peter about revelation from the Father about His identity and then proceeds to give revelation about THE CROSS.
Paul said that an UNVEILED FACE receives GLORY by the SPIRIT OF THE LORD.
- It changes us into the IMAGE OF JESUS.
Isn’t it wonderful that receiving Jesus’ revelation (unveiling) occurs when we turn our hearts to Him and BELIEVE WHAT HE SAYS AND TAKE IT TO HEART, which are words about the cross and denying self, and an UNVEILING occurred when He died on the cross, where GLORY WAS CONTAINED IN THE HOLIEST OF HOLIES from the time of Moses!
That holiest of holies’ veil had cherubim sewn into it according to Exodus 26:31.
- Just like the GARDEN ENTRANCE was barred by CHERUBIM in Gen 3:24.
- THE GARDEN KINGDOM was barred by CHERUBIM.
- As though the death of Jesus Christ opened the way into the GARDEN KINGDOM, but only for those who take that cross to heart and carry their own crosses and deny themselves.
KINGDOM GLORY is seen when you take the pictures of the most holy place, where the glory of God dwelt, and see it unveiled, and the GARDEN entrance, where Adam was given dominion, is OPENED, so to speak, when the veil was torn open.
- The tearing open of the barrier of the veil with cherubims is like the opening of the entrance to the GARDEN KINGDOM.
It is as though the entrance to the GARDEN KINGDOM is being opened to us WHEN WE RECEIVE REVELATION OF THE CROSS.
Notice HIS FACE SHONE LIKE THE SUN.
2 Cor 3:18 says when it SHINES ON US we are changed – TRANSFIGURED INTO THE SAME IMAGE.
- "Changed" is the same Greek word used for "transfigured."
- METAMORPHOO.
- TO METAMORPHOSE.
HIS LIGHT SHINES FROM FACE TO FACE, and we change into HIS IMAGE.
Genesis 1:2-3 YLT the earth hath existed waste and void, and darkness is on the face of the deep, and the Spirit of God fluttering on the face of the waters, (3) and God saith, `Let light be;' and light is.
Jesus’ FACE shines like the sun, representing TRUTH and it SHINES on the FACE of the waters.
Only when our HEARTS ARE UNVEILED can it SHINE IN AND CHANGE US INTO HIS IMAGE.
- Changing us into His image is like God, WHO IS LIGHT, SPEAKING to our hearts and saying “LET THERE BE LIGHT!”
Now, look at the wording of Genesis 1.
GOD IS REPRODUCING HIMSELF!
- He is light and says LET THERE BE LIGHT to the world.
- The world is our DARK HEARTS, just as the world was dark.
- HE SHONE UPON THE FACE OF THE DEEP.
- Paul said the SPIRIT ministers LIBERTY and sets us free from darkness by shining REVELATION truth from Jesus’ face into our hearts
- FACE TO FACE!
- TRUTH of Jesus IS LIKE LIGHT.
- KNOWLEDGE OF GOD IN FACE OF JESUS.
- The words Jesus preached is REPRESENTED BY LIGHT SHINING FROM HIS FACE.
In the same sermon (Matt 5 through 7) that Jesus preached about a wise man building his house on the rock, he said YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, when we know that HE IS ALSO CALLED LIGHT OF THE WORLD.
After Paul speaks of hearts unveiled and receiving GLORY to be changed into His image, he actually referred to Genesis 1.
2 Corinthians 4:6 Complete Apostles' Bible (6) Because it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who shined in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Here he takes us back to GENESIS 1, where GOD SAID LET THERE BE LIGHT.
- And he says this is exactly what happens when JESUS’ GLORY SHINES IN OUR HEARTS THAT WE TURNED TO HIM by being WILLING TO HEAR AND DO THOSE WORDS.
- It shone in the FACE OF JESUS… just like HIS FACE SHINING ON THE MT. OF TRANSFIGURATION IN MATT 17!
