"He Died For You;
Now He Lives For You"

Romans 5:5-10 And hope maketh not
ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy
Ghost which is given unto us. For when we were yet without strength, in
due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man
will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we
shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we
were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled,
we shall be saved by his life.
Hebrews 7:23-8:3
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue
by reason of death: But this man, because he continueth ever, hath
an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the
uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession
for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless,
undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who
needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first
for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when
he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity;
but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son,
who is consecrated for evermore. Now of the things which we have spoken
this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the
right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; A minister of the
sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not
man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore
it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
Romans 5 teaches that Jesus DIED for our sins.
-
And that death for our sins was a powerful work of God.
-
We noted that His death occurred for us when we were yet ENEMIES.
-
We were UNGODLY.
-
Nobody on earth would die for ungodly people, let alone there scarcely
be a person who would die for righteous people.
-
But God's love was so astounding that He died for us when we were ungodly.
-
And some Christians think God hates them when they make a mistake and sin.
-
If He loved you when you PURPOSELY, without care, sinned, I am sure He
loves you now when you make a mistake and sin.
Romans 5 says that HIS DEATH saved us from sin, but we still need to be
saved from other things every now and then AFTER we are saved from sin.
-
After dying for our sins, we can say that HE DIED FOR US.
-
But what about after we are saved from sin by His death?
-
What if we make a mistake now?
-
It is only appointed unto men ONCE to die, and we died ONCE with Him from
sin.
-
So what does that leave us when we sin AFTER we are saved, and His death
did the work it was supposed to do?
-
Are we lost?
-
Is there nothing for us AFTER we accept His death?
You would think there was nothing more for us after we are saved, by the
way some people live their christian lives.
-
They were saved by faith, and they continue from that point of faith into
a life of fleshly living.
-
They "save themselves" out of troubles.
-
They perform to please God.
-
BUT THAT IS ALL WRONG.
After He died, He resurrected.
-
And He is alive forevermore.
-
He DIED for you, BUT NOW HE LIVES FOR YOU.
Romans says that WE (who are already saved by His life) shall be SAVED
FROM WRATH by HIS LIFE.
-
"For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled
to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be
saved by his life. "
Hebrews 7 says that HE EVER LIVETH TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR US.
-
He LIVES for a purpose.
-
His death served a GREAT purpose.
-
BUt we tend to stop there and not realize HE IS ALIVE NOW, TOO.
-
AND THAT LIFE HAS A PURPOSE, ALSO.
-
HE LIVES FOR YOU.
Old Testament law was faulty in that it provided priests to help people
with their sins, through sacrifices, but these men could not continue forever
in that ministry. THEY DIED.
-
The High Priest was a man who took the burden of Israel upon Himself in
atonement for sin.
-
But he died, and another one was ordained to be High Priest, and so on,
for generations.
-
But CHRIST NEVER DIES.
Picture it as a court procedure.
-
The prosecuting attorney is being defeated by the ace lawyer you hired
for your case!
-
Your case is going ahead greatly and you are winning.
-
But the case is still ongoing.
-
AND THEN YOUR LAWYER DIES!
-
Will you get another lawyer that is that good?
"And they truly were many priests, because
they were not suffered to continue by reason of death: But this man,
because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore
he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him,
seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them."
Jesus is the ace lawyer who has never lost a case!
-
It does not matter what your sin is, if you repent and turn to Him, HE
POINTS AT THE ACCUSER and says...
-
"Yes, y client did sin."
-
"Yes, he/she did commit what the prosecutor alleged."
-
"Yes, these things are all true, but there is one thing the Devil failed
to show as evidence, and that is that this person has come in repentance
and claims my blood I shed on Calvary for their sins. THEREFORE,
I DETERMINE THAT THIS CLIENT IS INNOCENT!!!!"
The devil knows that JESUS is both JUDGE AND LAWYER!!
-
he knows that if you go to God in repentance in the NAME OF JESUS, claiming
the BLOOD for your MISTAKES when you sin, THEN HE LOST HIS CASE AGAINST
YOU!
-
You will be forgiven.
So the devil tries to get you to feel so condemned that you will not even
repent.
-
He tries to make you think God hates you now.
-
But Jesus DIED for you when you were an enemy, and HE LIVES FOR YOU NOW
THAT YOU ARE HIS OWN.
-
And His LIFE IS INTERCESSION MINISTRY -- OR LAWYER for your case.
-
He ever LIVETH to make intercession FOR YOU.
-
HE LIVETH FOR YOU.
-
Intercession is being a lawyer ON YOUR SIDE.
BLAME?
Romans 8:33 Who shall lay any thing
to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Laying charge on someone is BLAMING them.
-
We may very well be blameable for sins we commit.
-
Ever feel blamed?
-
Ever feel deserving of blame?
-
But GOD JUSTIFIES us.
-
Being blameable means that you truly did wrong.
-
We all truly do wrong sometimes.
-
But in order to justify someone, you must take a blameable person and JUSTIFY
THEM, or change their situation and make them UNBLAMEABLE.
-
How does GOD CHANGE us from blameable to unblameable?
-
We were already saved from SIN by His death, so what else is there for
us?
-
HIS LIFE is for us.
-
HE LIVES to make intercession for us.
-
That means your sins after you are saved must be repented of, and take
to God to be removed like your sins were removed by His blood in His Death.
-
And then those sins are gone, too!
So, who is going to blame you after GOD JUSTIFIED YOU????
CONDEMNED?
Romans 8:34 Who is he that
condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again,
who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for
us.
People may CONDEMN you, and the devil may CONDEMN you, but there is something
we have going for us.
-
Christ DIED, for one thing, for us.
-
And YEA RATHER, He is risen and right now is at the right hand of God MAKING
INTERCESSION FOR US.
-
Intercession is necessary when we make mistakes after we sin.
-
And He is MAKING INTERCESSION for us NOW.
-
The ace lawyer is winning our case!
-
Satan is a liar.
-
Once you know your intercessor is taking your case, YOU KNOW YOU WILL WIN.
-
So you can LAUGH at the devil when he tries to condemn you after you prayed
and repented.
It does not matter if YOU FEEL condemned after you pray forgiveness.
-
KNOW THE WORD.
-
THE WORD SAYS your case is handled by the INTERCESSOR.
When I first heard the Gospel and understood that repentance and baptism
is for the remission of sins, and how Acts 22:16 says that baptism in Jesus'
name, calling on the name of the Lord, sees my sins washed away, I was
worried I would sin AFTER I was baptized, and scared that I would blow
all the effort God took in washing my sins away only to leave me a sinner
again.
-
But my pastor showed me these words:
1John 2:1-2 My little children, these
things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an
advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation
for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the
whole world.
IF WE SIN, we have AN ADVOCATE... AN INTERCESSOR.. FOR US.
-
AN ACE LAWYER.
-
He will take our case and WIN IT every time.
-
So long as we trust in His blood and go back and claim our rights for forgiveness
at the cross.
-
We have a right for forgiveness, and DON'T LET SATAN CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE!
EVEN IF YOU KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO SIN, and knew it was WRONG, before you
sinned, if it was not purposely done to spite God, but was a MISTAKE, then
you will be forgiven.
-
Your RESISTANCE to sin might be low, while your spirit hates sinning, and
GOD UNDERSTANDS THAT.
Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye
enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the
flesh is weak.
Jesus asked the disciples to pray with Him in the garden.
-
But He understood that though they slept and could not pray, THEIR INTENTIONS
AND THEIR SPIRITS WERE WILLING TO DO SO.
-
Jesus said that!
-
God knows when you are low in resistance and you sin.
-
To have a WILLING SPIRIT, but weak FLESH, is to know it is wrong before
you do it, but being unable ot resist the temptation, and to sin.
-
GOD FORGIVES US OF THOSE SINS WHEN WE REPENT.
-
We just need to grow.
-
BUT DO NOT LET THE DEVIL MAKE YOU THINK THAT YOU ARE NEVER GOING TO BE
FORGIVEN BECAUSE YOU KNEW IT WAS WRONG BEFORE YOU DID IT.
-
God knows your SPIRIT IS WILLING, although your FLESH IS WEAK.
-
But YOU STILL HAVE TO REPENT sincerely.
If the devil can convince you that God will not hear you, then you will
not pray for forgiveness and you will not be forgiven.
-
SO BELIEVE THESE WORDS I PREACH TO YOU!
What did Jesus do when the devil tried to trip him up?
-
Jesus KNEW THE WORD, so He used it against the devil.
-
You need to KNOW THIS WORD about forgiveness and intercession.
-
If you were not expected to make mistakes, why does HE EVER INTERCEDE FOR
US NOW?
-
Intercession is for those who make errors.
-
God expects us to make mistakes.
-
BUT HE ALSO EXPECTS US TO LEARN FROM THEM AND GROW to be able to TRUST
IN HIS STRENGTH to stop sinning as time goes by.
-
Some never grow.
-
And they will make the same mistakes for the rest of their lives.
-
But so long as they repent and continue to truly seek God for forgiveness,
they will be saved.
SEPARATION?
Romans 8:35 Who shall separate
us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution,
or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Even if PEOPLE blame and condemn you and say you are SEPARATED FROM GOD'S
LOVE, know the WORD.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded,
that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers,
nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any
other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which
is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
NOTHING can separate us from HIS LOVE.
-
If He loved us when we were enemies, do you think that being His child
will separate you from His love when you make a MISTAKE?
-
MISTAKE is the all important word.
-
Knowing something is wrong and doing it anyway, because our RESISTANCE
is low, IS STILL A MISTAKE.
-
HE STILL LOVES US.
-
If He loves the homosexuals, and the murderers and the wife-beaters, to
DIE FOR THEM, then he certainly STILL LOVES YOU, His child who made a mistake.
-
HE HATES THE SIN, but LOVES THE SINNER.
HE STILL LOVES YOU.
-
You need to KNOW THIS.
-
Don't stop coming to church because you make a mistake.
-
You need to come here so I can show you these things, so that the devil
will not succeed in lying to you, saying God hates you.
-
Paul was "PERSUADED".
-
Are you?
You get into this Word enough and YOU WILL BE PERSUADED TOO!
When Jesus was riding into Jerusalem, the people cried HOSANNA!!
Matthew 21:9 And the multitudes
that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son
of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna
in the highest.
HOSANNA means: SALVATION BELONGS TO THE KING.
-
Salvation was coming, because JESUS was coming.
The Pharisees were upset.
Matthew 21:15 And when the chief
priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children
crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the Son of David; they were
sore displeased,
Jesus told them that he was the coming King and was bringing salvation.
-
As we read past this verse, we see Him begin to speak parables of Messianic
rejection, indicating they were rejecting the Messiah.
-
He said the vineyard of the KINGDOM would be given to another people, for
they rejected the SON.
-
He told about the wedding invitations ignored by the people (Israel), and
being sent instead to others (Gentiles) not initially invited.
-
He said HE was the cornerstone that the builders rejected.
Matthew 21:42-43 Jesus saith unto them,
Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected,
the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and
it is marvellous in our eyes? Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of
God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits
thereof.
Jesus quoted from the very same PSALM that foretold One would come and
people would cry BLESSED IS HE WHO COMES.
Psalm 118:22 The stone [which]
the builders refused is become the head [stone] of the corner.
Psalm 118:26 Blessed [be] he that cometh
in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.
By saying He was the cornerstone, He was also saying He was the ONE TO
BLESSED, who came in the name of the Lord.
-
But He was rejected, and therefore said...
Matthew 23:37-39 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem,
thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent
unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even
as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall
not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh
in the name of the Lord.
They would never see Him again, until they said, "Blessed is he who comes
in the name of the Lord."
-
He brought SALVATION.
-
HOSANNA means SALVATION BELONGS TO THE KING.
-
And the KING had COME.
We do not find anyone crying Hosanna again until we read:
Revelation 7:9-10 After this I
beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations,
and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before
the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried
with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the
throne, and unto the Lamb.
SALVATION TO OUR GOD WHO SITS UPON THE THRONE is actually "HOSANNA"!!
-
And these were people from every nation!
-
NOT JUST ISRAEL.
-
Salvation came to us!
-
Because we believed HE BROUGHT IT.
-
We cried HOSANNA.
-
HOSANNA is the cry that every sinner must make, saying Jesus is saviour!
-
AND HE WILL SAVE.
Why did I say all of this?
-
We need to be saved from things AFTER we are saved from sin by His death.
-
We are saved FROM WRATH BY HIS LIFE!
-
Romans said, "being
now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him."
-
HE LIVES FOR YOU.
-
He is STILL SALVATION.
-
Cry HOSANNA when you need help!
-
SALVATION WILL COME!
Now and then there are WARS that occur, like little
court sessions.
Revelation 12:7 And
there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon;
and the dragon fought and his angels,
And we read that the devil was defeated and CAST
DOWN.
Revelation 12:8-9
And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And
the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and
Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth,
and his angels were cast out with him.
Then we read of SALVATION HAVING COME!!!
Revelation 12:10 And
I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength,
and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser
of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and
night.
The voice from heaven cries that the accuser of "our
brethren" is cast down.
-
Angels are only brethren to those saved children
of God.
-
THE COMING OF SALVATION IS "HOSANNA".
-
That voice was actually saying the same thing as
saying "HOSANNA".
-
SALVATION IS COME.
Whenever CHILDREN OF GOD get into a battle with Satan,
angels fight on your behalf.
-
Salvation COMES TO YOU, when you are being accused
by the devil's words.
-
He sees you have sinned and he accuses you.
-
And his words of accusation might be true.
-
You did commit those sins.
-
BUT SOMETHING HAPPENED that brought salvation from
it all.
-
YOU CLAIMED THE BLOOD.
Revelation 12:11 And
they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;
and they loved not their lives unto the death.
When we CLAIM THE BLOOD as our RIGHT to receive HELP
in all of our battles against the devil, WE WILL WIN!
-
But you have to know the word in order for that to
happen.
-
When the devil condemns you, you will easily fail
UNLESS you know exactly how God thinks of you when you sin and make a mistake.
-
You need to know HIS LOVE IS THERE FOR YOU, HE STILL
LOVES YOU.
-
And you need to know THE BLOOD IS THERE FOR YOU TO
CLAIM.
-
Point to the blood and say, "This blood was shed
for me that I might be saved from sin, and is still there for me to claim
now that I am a child of God who has made a mistake. I claim this
blood as my right for VICTORY over the devil."
-
And you have overcome!
Only people who know the WORD will be able to think
like that when trouble comes.
-
If you do not know the word, you WILL BELIEVE THE
LIES OF THE DEVIL.
-
He's too good of a liar to deal with without knowing
the WORD OF TRUTH.
So cry, HOSANNA!, when you need His help.
-
When you make a mistake, CRY HOSANNA!
-
Know that HE LIVES FOR YOU!
-
His heartbeat is for you!
-
You're worth more than all the world to Him.
-
HE LIVES FOR YOU!
He STILL saves AFTER THE CROSS.
-
One can only be delivered from sin by the cross, but after that, he saves
you from troubles and failures by HIS LIFE OF INTERCESSION.
-
Revelation 12 is long after Revelation 5, where the Lamb shed its blood
for our salvation.
-
But we still see salvation coming to GOD'S PEOPLE, this time, and not to
lost sinners alone.
-
He saves from the accuser and from condemnation.
He ever lives for a purpose.
-
TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR YOU!
