GOOD TREASURES AND EVIL TREASURES

Luke says the same thing only he uses the terms TREASURE in the heart, whereas Matthew said GOOD FRUIT COMES FROM GOOD TREES.

So GOOD TREASURE of the heart is like GOOD FRUIT from a GOOD TREE. Then Paul says....

Again the HEART IS THE ISSUE HERE Heart turns to the Lord The Lord to whom the heart turns is "THAT SPIRIT" mentioned previously in the same chapter. We behold that glory, that LIGHT -- we have our hearts turned to HIM -- and are changed into the same IMAGE as HE IS. Then Paul said:

Repeats 3:18 but this time says the light or the glory you read about in 3:18 is the LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF JESUS CHRIST.
So the GLORY that changes us into the same image of God is LIGHT OF THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLORY OF GOD.
And Like, Jesus in Luke's Gospel, Paul says this is a TREASURE inside us

GOOD TREASURES AND EVIL TREASURES

Matthew says there will be those who say "Lord, Lord" and will not enter glory because they did not KNOW JESUS.  "I never knew you."

Before saying this Jesus said,

"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither [can] a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. "  He speaks of trees and fruit.

There have been two kinds of trees since the foundation of the world. You know what tree a person has plucked fruit from by what comes out of the heart.

Our words are the FRUIT. Fruit was distinctly said to have SEED IN ITSELF.

And then we read...

The woman pinpointed the situation to the serpent, who was more vague, and said it was FRUIT they were not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. When Adam ate the FRUIT, he took a seed into himself. Paul said the heart of a true believer whose heart is truly turned to JESUS receives LIGHT or GLORY.
  1. Life
  2. Knowledge of good and evil
For the same reason God cast Adam and Eve from the Garden when they ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, will Jesus say, "I NEVER KNEW YOU". WORDS!!!!!

Words tell all.

God wanted Adam to multiply and fill the earth. But Adam ate the evil fruit. God asked Adam why he ate the fruit, and Adam said the woman gave to him.

What do you speak?   Notice: "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers."

Verse 27 said:

Isn't it interesting that Paul says give no place to the devil before he says we should SPEAK good WORDS, that Jesus said are the fruit from the good treasure of the heart.
For, a location where fruit from two different trees was considered, became a PLACE for the devil, the serpent.
Paul spoke the difference between what Adam brought to the world and what Christ brought to the world.  He delineates CONDEMNATION AND LIFE.

It is one of two kinds of fruit.   Fall from grace and get the wrong seed. WHAT COMES FROM YOUR MOUTH?

Paul said that we are to speak not corrupt communication, but to speak....

WALK and TALK LOVE.

Don't come to condemn.

How do you react when you see a brother who sinned?

NOTICE CLOSELY:

When you condemn a person, you are not helping them get saved.

The ones who criticize the people in a church and eventually quit church are the ones who are filled with knowledge of good and evil.

But if you are filled with life, you will talk not only about me, but you will talk to me, and when you talk, you will minister GRACE TO ME, (how did Paul describe such words?:...) "good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers".

A CONSCIENCE FILLED WITH DEAD WORKS IS AN EVIL CONSCIENCE.

When you see a fault, think life, not good and evil.

You will do one of two things when you see a brother sin.

  1. CONDEMN.
  2. FORGIVE.

Jesus was being crucified.

When you see a brother or sister slip up or not live right, don't be "holier than thou" and speak words of condemnation, but FORGIVE.

If you want to get into the Garden, you cannot have this condemnation in your heart.

Knowing Jesus is eternal Life.

Knowledge of good and evil is death.

Why did John write so much about loving each other?

Don't hope until the last minute at the door and realize the key to getting in was loving each other, while you condemned everyone in your words of gossip and backbiting.

John wrote to us so we can KNOW NOW.

Packed in the midst of all this clear tie-in with the Garden of Eden we read....

Sounds like what the SERPENT DID TO EVE BY GETTING HER TO EAT THE WRONG FRUIT.

Here is how you know what fruit you have eaten.

Whatever seed is planted in you, whatever fruit you feast on all the time, will grow in you and come out of your mouth.

Paul said this gets into you, the light of the knowledge of God, by turning your heart to Jesus.

People who do not love, no matter how loud they worship, or how much they speak in tongues, did not turn their hearts to JESUS.
