THE BLOOD VALIDATES OUR UNION WITH CHRIST

Matthew 27:50-51
(50)  Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
(51)  And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;

Romans 6:6-11
(6)  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(7)  For he that is dead is freed from sin.
(8)  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
(9)  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
(10)  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
(11)  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Deuteronomy 22:13-21
(13)  If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her,
(14)  And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I found her not a maid:
(15)  Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel's virginity unto the elders of the city in the gate:
(16)  And the damsel's father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her;
(17)  And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter's virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
(18)  And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him;
(19)  And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
(20)  But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
(21)  Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

Deuteronomy 22 mentions the tokens of virginity used in a "trial" to determine if a man had a right to put away his newly-married wife for not being a virgin.

Under law of Moses, the woman was able to have a witness to validate the fact that she was a virgin upon her marriage to her husband.
  •   The bride's father would retain that witness which was comprised of a sheet with bloodstains effected through the woman's "veiling" being breached in her union with her husband to make them one flesh.
Get the picture.

A veiling is rent.

Blood is shed.

Remind you of something?

In this law, if the woman's husband "hated her", or simply turned against her and lied using the excuse she was not a virgin upon their marriage, the woman's father could present the tokens of her virginity in the trial against her.
  • It was incontrovertible proof that she was pure when she was married.
  • She held herself pure before actual marriage.
Note that a woman can experience this only once.
  • Only once can this veil be breached.
But why is this law in the bible?
  • It's to indicate what a true union to Christ is all about.
  • Rent veil and blood shed.
Everything is about Christ and Him crucified! Everything!

The blood that was shed is the woman's.
  • The "veiling" that is rent is the woman's.
There is an obvious connection to the cross of Christ where the veil in the temple was rent and the blood of Jesus was shed in death.
  • Recall the veil rent when He gave up the ghost and actually died.
  • But how can the picture of the woman coincide with this?
  • After all, its the woman's blood and her veiling that is rent.
  • BUT THIS IS THE GLORY OF THE TRUTH OF OUR UNION in Christ's death!
We join Christ at the point of His death.

Romans 6 shows that we are baptized into His death.
  • From that point of union onward, we are one with the Son!
  • We are not said to have been born with Him in Bethlehem.
  • We were not grown with Him in his younger years.
  • The first point of union ot Him is crucified with Him.
  • Then we are buried with Him.
  • Risen together with Him.
  • Seated with Him in heavenly places.
  • We all know that faith in the work of Calvary on the cross is what saves us.
  • So salvation occurs when we first come into UNION with Him in HIS DEATH.
Marriage is a union.
  • A man leaves his father and mother and is joined ot his wife and they become One flesh.
  • However, this "marriage" is a spiritual union where we become "one spirit", as opposed to "one flesh", with Christ (1 Corinthians 6:17).
1 Corinthians 6:17
(17)  But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

His death is our beginning point in our marriage to Christ.
  • Our union to Him.
  • The reason we are baptized into His death is because His death is meant to be our deaths.
  • We share His death!
  • And since we die to the old life in Adam through Christ's death, and arise to walk in newness of the life of Christ's resurrection, OUR SALVATION OCCURS AS WE PROCEED WITH CHRIST IN A SPIRITUAL "MARRIAGE" of union to Him, as new creatures!
But the wondrous point of it all is that HIS DEATH BECOMES OUR DEATHS in the process.
  • And therefore, since bloodshed indicates death, and we died with Him, then it is our bloodshed in a very real manner in God's eyes, which we can relate to only BY FAITH in what the Word states about our salvation.
JESUS DIED BECAUSE WE HAD TO DIE!

And we died with Him!

Therefore it's the bride's bloodshed, as well as Christ's, IN THE PROCESS OF OUR UNION TO HIM!

If His death was accomplished as our deaths, then His blood was shed as our blood.
  • And since this is only possible through faith in a UNION WITH JESUS, and since union is like a marriage experience, then we se bloodshed of the bride in her marriage experience.
ONLY FAITH MAKES THIS EFFECTIVE.
  • If we do not have faith THEN THE FATHER SEES NO UNION.
Notice it is the father of the bride that possesses the tokens of her purity.
  • Our hearts must truly turn to God in order to experience a faith in salvation that moves God to cause our salvation.
  • He knows if our hearts truly believed in our unions to Jesus Christ's death.
  • He has the evidence.
  • He has the capability of seeing if the faith He demands to save us through was present in our hearts.
  • And just as the father of the damsel had the proof, God alone possesses the truth of our salvation.
That is why it is so important to not try and fool ourselves, let alone fool others, that we are real Christians if we had absolutely no faith that Jesus' death was necessary to the debt of death that I owed to God for my sins!

God is the one who is taking saints to glory.
  • And you must satisfy His demands for you to have faith that Jesus died your death to free you from sin.
Rom 6:3-4
(3)  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
(4)  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Colossians 2:12
(12)  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Rom 6:6
(6)  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Rom 6:7

(7)  For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Rom 6:11

(11)  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Phi 3:10

(10)  That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Rom 7:4

(4)  Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Colossians 2:20

(20)  Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Colossians 3:1

(1)  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Colossians 3:3

(3)  For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

Eph 2:6

(6)  And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Our deaths with Christ make his bloodshed our bloodshed.
  • There is no bloodshed in the believer if there is no faith in the believer that that person died when Christ died, by faith.
And it's the bride's veiling being rent in that same process!

Since Christ died when the veil was rent, our baptism into His death is when the veil rends.
  • Its as though God takes you back in time and has you slain with Jesus when Jesus died, as soon as you understand the gospel and believe and get baptized into that death.
  • But its actually not going back in time.
  • Its GOD RECKONING IT TO BE SO.
  • RECKON is an accounting term.
  • He marks your account.
  • He declares in your account that you paid the debt of death.
  • You had to die, so Christ's death counts are your death.
  • And that is reckoned by God.
And THIS UNION is proven to occur and to be genuine by God therefore seeing the BLOOD SHEDDING EXPERIENCE IN OUR OWN LIVES!

The father possessed the tokens.
  • The proof.
  • And the Father used it in defense of the bride when her life was threatened.
  • She would be stoned should there be no proof of her purity at the time of her marriage.
Now, this type or representation of our salvation in this obscure law in the Old Testament fails to perfectly portray our salvation in one point.
  • It was the husband who accused his wife of being impure.
  • Since Christ is our husband, we know he would never do this.
  • But the POINT is that the FATHER defends this child of his when his child is accused of not being truly pure at marriage.
  • And that basic picture applies to our salvation!
When the devil lies about you and tries to deceive you into thinking you ought to be destroyed because your past sins are wicked and accuse you of sinfulness fit for hell, then YOU KNOW THAT YOU HAD FAITH THAT SAVES YOUR SOUL.
  • YOU KNOW THE FATHER IS RIGHT THERE BACKING YOU UP.
  • YOU KNOW THAT WHEN YOU TRULY BELIEVED, GOD SAW THAT FAITH.
  • AND ALL THE POWER OF YOUR FATHER IN HEAVEN IS BEHIND YOU AS YOU WITHSTAND THAT LIAR OF A DEVIL.
  • You see, when you know God is on your side, because you know He saw your genuine faith, you can boldly withstand any devil from hell no matter how bold his lies are!
And because God is behind you, the devil cannot see you destroyed.

This protection is portrayed in a nother story of the bible that actually uses the same principle as this Deuteronomy 22 law.

Exodus 12:23
(23)  For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

The blood of the lamb was placed on the doors of the Hebrews in Egypt.
  • And the destroyer was to come that night and destroy the first born.
  • But the lamb's blood on the doors indicated A DEATH ALREADY OCCURRED HERE.
  • It is only appointed unto man ONCE to die.
  • God counts that lamb's death as that person's death.
  • But notice that the PERSON HAD TO PUT THE BLOOD ON THEIR DOOR.
  • And the person used hyssop stick to do that.
Exodus 12:21-22
(21)  Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover.
(22)  And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.

Hyssop is the smallest of all trees.

1 Kings 4:33

(33)  And he spake of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even unto the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spake also of beasts, and of fowl, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

It speaks of OUR FAITH.
  • Though faith be as small as a grain of mustard seed, it can remove mountains.
Take your little faith that saved you!
  • You believed Jesus'[ death was your death.
  • And THAT FAITH APPLIED HIS BLOOD TO YOUR LIFE.
  • It was as though you shed that blood.
  • And God said he would come down and pass over our doors of our lives, and not allow the destroyer to come in and destroy us.
  • "Destroyer, you cannot come here.  This blood of the lamb was taken by these believers and applied to their lives, and therefore a death already occurred for them.  You have nothing you can do here."
The Father stands up for His children!

Only after you apply His blood to your life by claiming IN FAITH that his death counts are your death.
  • See this blood, destroyer!  You cannot hurt my child!
  • The Father stands for his child in Deut. 22.
  • The Father stands for the firstborn in Exodus 12.
  • The destroyer cannot harm you!
You are in union to Jesus when you are saved.
  • As though He is the groom and you are the bride.
  • Husbands love their wives, Paul said, as Christ loved his church!
UNION!

PROPHECY CAME FORTH AFTER THE SERMON WITH THE BASIC UNDERSTANDING AS FOLLOWS:

"You do not have to come to me in purity.  Come to me with your sins and your uncleanness, for I have shed the blood that you required to be pure in your union to me.  My blood will make you pure and clean and holy.  My blood will count as your blood. You could not be pure without me.  I will make you my own through my blood that washes away your sins.  That is why it is my blood that becomes your's."
