Matthew 3:16-17  And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:  (17)  And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Acts 2:2-4  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.  (3)  And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.  (4)  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Genesis 1:1-3  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  (2)  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  (3)  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

In all three instances the Spirit of God BEGINS something NEW.
•    In Jesus’ case and the Genesis account, WATER AND SPIRIT are mentioned BEFORE THE WORD goes forth.
•    Jesus is the Word, and BEFORE he started preaching TRUTH and LIGHT, just like Genesis had GOD speak LIGHT AFTER the Spirit moved on the water, the Spirit fell on Him when he came out of the water.

John 3:5  Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Notice water and Spirit are involved with the reference to the KINGDOM.
•    When God was finished in Genesis 1, there was a KINGDOM he gave to Adam over the earth.

Genesis 1:27-28  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  (28)  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

We are born of the water and Spirit when we enter the KINGDOM.

Once the SPIRIT was moving on the WATER in Genesis, THE WORD started to make CHANGES.

Look at the state of the world before the word.

Genesis 1:1-2  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.  (2)  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Heaven and earth are there.
•    TWO THINGS man is made from include something from earth and something from heaven.
•    Dust of earth and breath of God.
•    And the earth at that time was VOID AND WITHOUT FORM.
•    Darkness is over the waters.
•    The Spirit moves and God speaks LIGHT.

Isaiah 45:18  For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else.

The Hebrew word for VAIN  is TOHU, the SAME WORD in Hebrew for WITHOUT FORM.
•    So, if we read TOHU as the word WITHOUT FORM in Isaiah, like it is in Genesis, it says, “God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not WITHOUT FORM.”
•    How could He CREATE it NOT WITHOUT FORM, and yet in Genesis 1 :2 it is WITHOUT FORM?
•    If God created the world then it cannot exist WITHOUT FORM.
•    But Gen 1:2 says it was WITHOUT FORM.
•    He had to FORM IS after verse 2.
•    So, before verse 2 how did it exist if it was without form, and God did not create it without form?

It was obviously created WITH FORM, according to Isaiah.
•    And for some reason IT BECAME WITHOUT FORM in verse 2.

Jeremiah prophesied of Jerusalem’s destruction by Babylon in the old testament times.

Jeremiah 4:7  The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.

And in this prophecy Jeremiah uses words that mirror Genesis 1.

Jeremiah 4:23  I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.

The exact same picture as Genesis 1:2.

Genesis 1:2-3  And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.  (3)  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

Without form and void, and no light.

So the same picture of the earth was going to happen with Jerusalem.

But keep reading in Jeremiah.

Jeremiah 4:24-26  I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.  (25)  I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.  (26)  I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.

This is a prophecy to Israel of destruction.
•    And when they start so similar to Genesis 1, when we keep reading they are also similar to Isaiah 14.

Isaiah 14:16-17  They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;  (17)  That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

Jeremiah says:  beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly
Isaiah says: made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms

Jeremiah says: the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD
Isaiah says: That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof

And it is talking about a MAN.
•    Who is that man?

Isaiah 14:12-15  How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!  (13)  For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:  (14)  I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.  (15)  Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

There was a king of Babylon this refers to.
•    This king destroyed Jerusalem.
•    (There’s Jerusalem again like in Jeremiah 4).
•    But Jesus said something that lets us know this LUCIFER was a shadow of a far more sinister LUCIFER.

Luke 10:18  And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Like Jeremiah 4’s reference to Jerusalem, Isaiah 14’s reference to Lucifer PARALLELS something far more ancient.
•    And Jeremiah 4 says mountains and land trembled and moved, and the fruitful place was made a wilderness, as Isaiah 14 says LUCIFER made the earth tremble and made the earth like a wilderness.
•    And Jeremiah 4 associates that with the world in Genesis 1:2 when the world was without form and void, and there was no light.

If Isaiah is a foreshadow of the fall of satan from heaven, and the things he did were compared with the things that happened when the earth was void and without form in Jeremiah, then the king of Babylon was like the devil when the devil fell from heaven.

We showed you how the earth was in existence but was void and without form, and showed Isaiah say that GOD DID NOT MAKE THE WORLD WITHOUT FORM.
•    But verse 1 says he created earth and verse 2 says it’s without form.
•    Now we see the earth void and without form is linked to things that happened in association with what satan did.

All of this seems to show us that SATAN FELL BETWEEN GENESIS 1:1 AND GENESIS 1:2.
•    God formed the earth, and did not make it without form.
•     And like the king of Babylon, the original Lucifer fell and caused the earth to become void and without form, and caused the earth to tremble and made the fruitful place into a wilderness.
