THE LIGHT"

John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again
unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall
not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Matt 5:14 Ye are the light of
the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
Jesus came forth as the light of the world, and He also indicated that His
church is the light of the world.
- In order to understand this
we must read the following.
Hebrews 1:1-3 God, who at sundry times and in divers
manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these
last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all
things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of [his]
glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the
word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the
right hand of the Majesty on high;
Hebrews 2:9-11 But we see Jesus, who
was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned
with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for
every man. For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are]
all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they
who are sanctified [are] all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to
call them brethren,
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no
need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God
did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.
Hebrews Reads that Jesus Christ is the BRIGHTNESS OF GOD'S GLORY.
- God has glory.
- He is glorious.
- And Jesus is the light beams
that come from that glory, making God "visible", so to speak, to us.
- God is invisible.
- God manifested in flesh
and in that means was seen of angels, when even angels could not see Him
beforehand.
Adam was planned to be the light
of the world.
- God would fill man with His
Life, from the tree of life, and Adam would begin to manifest God into the
world.
- And Adam was told to MULTIPLY
himself across the world, and that would occur through birth by way of Eve.
- And Adam's purpose to shine
God forth into the world would multiply.
As we know, Adam failed.
- But Jesus is the last Adam.
- He is the light of the world.
- And He told us, those born
again, that we are the light of the world.
- We must SHINE FORTH God
into the world.
Since Jesus is the Light and is
the brightness of God's glory, and then said that we are the light of the
world, we understand that we are also the brightness of God's glory now.
- Jesus, like Adam, multiplied.
- Every believer who is born
again is part of the multiplication of Jesus Christ.
- And we are the brightness
of the glory of God because Jesus is that brightness, and we are in union
with Jesus.
New Jerusalem is mentioned in
Revelation.
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need
of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did
lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof.
The glory of God lit the City
and the LAMB IS THE LIGHT THEREOF.
- This means the same thing
that Hebrews related to us.
- As the sun is the source
of light, and produces PHOTONS (bundles of energy) that are the actual LIGHT
from the sun, God is the source and Jesus manifest in flesh is the LIGHT
coming from God.
- We see the sun because of
the photons that come to us.
- We see the Father when we
see the Son.
The City also had walls of JASPER.
Revelation 21:10-11
And he
carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me
that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having
the glory of God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious,
even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
Revelation 21:18 And the building of
the wall of it was [of] jasper: and the city [was] pure gold, like
unto clear glass.
And we read that God's glory appeared as JASPER earlier in Revelation.
Revelation 4:3 And he that sat was
to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and [there was] a rainbow
round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.
All of these points say the same
thing.
- · Jesus as well as the CHURCH
(the new Jerusalem is the Church -
Hebrews. 12:22) shine God forth into the world.
Anything that is good about is
is that which we received from being in union with Jesus.
- Only due to our unions with
Jesus are we holy and righteous.
Jesus is seen in Revelation 1
as being metallic.
- He is golden and brazen (made
of brass).
Revelation 1:13-15 And in the midst of the seven candlesticks
[one] like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot,
and girt about the paps with a golden girdle. His head and [his] hairs [were]
white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes [were] as a flame of fire;
And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his
voice as the sound of many waters.
Notice that Paul the apostle says,
of all the works we do while Christians, the only works that will reward
us anything are the works described symbolically as gold, silver and precious
stones.
1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Now if
any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay,
stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare
it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's
work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon,
he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer
loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Wood hay and stubble depict the
things we did that did not promote the things of God in this world.
- How much are you doing for
God?
- Are you just coming to Church?
- Or are you involving yourself
in the Kingdom by working for Him in some capacity in this world?
- If you are doing nothing,
then you are not SHINING GOD INTO THE WORLD, and all your works are only
wood, hay and stubble that will burn up and leave you without any reward.
Notice that the metallic elements
and precious stones depict efforts to do God's work in this world are the
only things that can endure fire.
- As wood and hay and stubble
can be burned up, the works, outside of works for God's kingdom, will be
burned up and we will receive no reward for those things.
- The only works that will
reward us anything, like gold silver and precious stones, will withstand
the fire of judgment and will leave us with reward.
- Like Jesus is gold and brass,
our works of spiritual value will withstand the day of judgment.
- This tells us that THE ONLY
WORKS THAT WILL MERIT ANY REWARD WILL BE THOSE WORKS THAT ARE OF JESUS.
- Jesus is gold and brass.
- And everything that we do
for the kingdom of God that is of any merit is from Jesus.
- The gold in my ministry
is Jesus ministering through me.
- The silver and precious
stones in your ministry are from JESUS.
- Your union to Him produces
ministry, which really means that the only ministry of merit is JESUS WORKING
THROUGH YOU.
All of this is saying the same
message.
- JUST SHINE FORTH GOD INTO
THIS WORLD.
Only two individuals will receive
the inheritance of the promise to Abraham.
- Abraham and HIS SEED.
Gala 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the
promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And
to thy seed, which is Christ.
There is no room for Muhammad
or Buddha.
- Just Abraham and his seed.
- That Seed is Jesus Christ.
What about believers?
- Are we not joint-heirs with
Jesus?
- Yes!
- And if we are in JESUS,
then that means we actually are recipients of the promise, because we are
in UNION with the seed.
Gala 3:26-27 For ye are all the children of God by
faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ
have put on Christ.
Gala 3:29 And if ye [be] Christ's,
then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
It is the same idea:
- Jesus is multiplied.
- He is the Light multiplied.
- That is why we are called
the light.
- AND WE MUST SHINE GOD FORTH
INTO THE WORLD AS JESUS DID.
That is why we read that the seed
of the woman would bruise the serpent's head (Genesis 3:15) and why Paul
said:
Gene 3:15 And I will put enmity
between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise
thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Roma 16:20 And the God of peace
shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ
[be] with you. Amen.
We are in union with THE SEED,
JESUS.
- So the bruising of the serpents
head through the seed is through Jesus, the Head, and the Church, the Body.
- Satan may have felt little
worry about hearing that the seed would bruise his head.
- One foot.
- But the truth of the matter
is that God is waiting to see this done in the end of the world, AFTER THAT
SEED HAS MULTIPLIED.
- And instead of one foot,
it will be the feet of every born again believer across the world who will
bring their feet down in every nation of the world on the devil's kingdom
and authority (head).
- And THAT is something for
him to fear!
- That is the reason we read
that the end will come when this gospel has been preached to all nations.
- Satan's kingdom has touched
all nations, and every nation will have a believer united to the SEED in
it, who will bruise Satan there.
Jesus was made COMPLETE through
sufferings.
Hebrews 2:9-10 But we see Jesus, who
was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned
with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for
every man. For it became him, for whom [are] all things, and by whom [are]
all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings.
"Perfect through sufferings" means
"complete through sufferings".
- Eve was the COMPLETER (help
meet) of Adam.
- She was his multiplication.
- Eve came from Adam's body.
- And the Bride of Christ
is the CHURCH made of millions of people.
- He would be completed THROUGH
SUFFERINGS.
- The death of the cross would
be the means of MULTIPLYING JESUS, just as Adam's deep sleep brought about
God's work in removing his rib and making Eve a multiplication of Adam.
- ONE BECAME TWO.
- And by the cross we are
made in union with Jesus and we are Jesus multiplied.
One source of light walked the
earth before the cross.
- Jesus.
- But the cross caused that
single seed to die, be buried and resurrect as MANY SEEDS.
- MANY LIGHTS.
- And we COMPLETE Jesus.
Adam was incomplete after the
rib was removed.
- Union with Eve in unity of
flesh completed him.
- We are Jesus' Body.
- We must unify with Him in
Spirit, as opposed to Adam and flesh, to COMPLETE HIM.
- To let God's light shine.
People see God through Jesus and
us!
He is the express image of God's
person.
- He is completed by bringing
MANY SONS TO GLORY.
- Those many sons likewise
shine forth God's glory as beams of His light.
- Man was created to be the
expression of God.
- Man fell, so God manifest
as man to draw all men to Himself and unite with them, to proceed with the
original plan that man LIGHT THE WORLD.
John 12:32-33 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth,
will draw all [men] unto me. This he said, signifying what death he should
die.
His death was the lifting up of
Him on the cross.
- That provided us the first
and only means to unite with Him and die with Him.
- It is the reason we can
be the light of God's glory.
- Jesus was the light of the
glory of God.
2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to
shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of
the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But when we united with Jesus,
we are the light of the glory of God.
- That does not mean we are
divine.
- But we are in union with
Jesus who is divine.
1John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If
we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
We SHINE God into the world by
loving one another.
You cannot see without its beams
of light.
- People cannot see God without
our acts of love.
You are so in union with Jesus
when you are baptized into His death (Rom. 6:3) that to downgrade yourself
after salvation is to completely miss the work that God did in your life
when He saved you.
- You are made a light beam
of God's glory.
- Do you see how connected
to God you are?
- As much as the light is connected
to the sun, you are connected to God's glory.
People are too mindful of the
entity they used to be, and do not appreciate the absolute transformation
God performed with their lives.
- That is the reason we have
a BIBLE.
- That is why we assemble together
for the preaching of the word.
- The Bible teaches us who
and what we really are since our salvation.
2 Corinthians 5:14-17 For the love of Christ constraineth
us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
And [that] he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live
unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. Wherefore
henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ
after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we [him] no more. Therefore if any
man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,
all things are become new.
Stop looking at each other by
their former lives before salvation.
- Look at each other with the
transformation of the cross in mind, and how God made us all beams of light
to shine forth His glory.
2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly
beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit,
perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
What this means is that we must
COMPLETE holiness.
- If we live to ourselves and
do our own things, works of wood, hay and stubble, and do not seek to SHINE
FORTH GOD, we have received this grace in vain.
- Let us COMPLETE the holiness
God gave to use by LIVING IT OUT.
- We cannot become MORE HOLY,
for we have all the holiness we can get since God gave us His own holiness.
- But we must LIVE IT OUT.
- We cannot only COMPLETE
the holiness we already have.
2 Corinthians 6:1 We then, [as] workers together [with
him], beseech [you] also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
He is glorious so we must shone
forth His glory.
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; for thy
light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
As Moses saw the glory of God
and SHONE forth to the people, so much so that they had to veil his face,
Gods glory has risen upon us and WE MUST SHINE.
- 2 Corinthians 6 teaches us
that the way we shine is by shining forth works for God.
Matt 5:16 Let your light so shine before men,
that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
The light we have is originated
in God.
- He rose and His glory has
come upon us, so let us SHINE THAT OUT.
- It does not happen automatically.
- We must put efforts to stop
doing "our own things."
2 Corinthians 6:14-16 Be ye not unequally yoked together with
unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ
with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what
agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the
living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in [them]; and
I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
We are in union with Jesus.
- It does not suit us to yoke
ourselves to unbelievers.
- It does not suit who we
are when we fill our temples with things of another false deity like Belial.
- As God's temple is not suited
for idols, we do not suit the lifestyles of the world.
- WE MUST SHINE FORTH GOD'S
WAYS and not our own.
- When we do our own things,
we simply do not fulfill our purpose.
- SHINE FOR GOD!
Materialize God through the things
you do for Him.
New Jerusalem came down with God's
glory and the nations came and walked in the light of it.
Revelation 21:2 And I John saw the holy
city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband.
Revelation 21:10-11 And he carried me away
in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city,
the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Having the glory of
God: and her light [was] like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper
stone, clear as crystal;
Revelation 21:23-24 And the city had no
need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God
did lighten it, and the Lamb [is] the light thereof. And the nations of them
which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth
do bring their glory and honour into it.
Let's "come down to earth" and
let the world see our light.
- Some are so heavenly minded,
they are no earthly good.
- True heavenly mindedness
is a whole lot of earthly good, because the MIND OF GOD is to touch this
world with His goodness.
- But some are up in the air
harping about everything, and they are no angels.
- They care less for the world.
- But we are here to go to
all the world and shine GOD TO THEM ALL.
Matt 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put
it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that
are in the house.
He did not make you light to hide
your light underneath your own desires and things you want to do in the flesh.
If churches will not shine forth
God's light, and instead shine forth their self-righteusness, look at what
God said He would do.
Revelation 2:5 Remember therefore from
whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will
come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place,
except thou repent.
A candlestick is meant to SHINE
FORTH LIGHT.
- · Why have one there if the
church will not SHINE FORTH GOD?
Let us repent and start to SHINE!!!
