  Scripture Text:

Genesis 1:26-28 KJV
(26)  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
(27)  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(28)  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

1 Corinthians 15:21-28 KJV
(21)  For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
(22)  For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
(23)  But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
(24)  Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
(25)  For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
(26)  The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
(27)  For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
(28)  And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

  Message:

I want to concentrate tonight on this verse as follows, which relates to the text we read from tonight.

Romans 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Presenting ourselves to God AS THOSE ALIVE FROM THE DEAD.

Adam was given all dominion.
  • And after he was given that dominion, He was told to subdue the earth.
  • The earth was not subdued the moment he obtained dominion.
  • His dominion would give him the power TO SUBDUE.

And 1 Cor 15:45 says Christ is the last Adam.
  • And Christ is said to be ruling.
  • He does not rule AFTER all enemies are taken down, as though it be in our future.
  • He rules NOW.

 1 Corinthians 15:27 KJV
(27)  For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.

God already HATH put all things under Him.
  • Now they are to be subdued.
  • Adam was given dominion over all the earth, but he later had to SUBDUE IT.

That meant enemies were around Adam.
  • And Adam would bring them down.
  • Subduing comes after the dominion is already held.
  • Subduing occurs BECAUSE one has dominion.

It's gradual.

Notice that DEATH is the last enemy that shall be destroyed.
  • 1 Cor 15:26

Jesus already is freed from death.

Romans 6:9 KJV
(9)  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Adam had dominion over everything, and left the Garden and lost the power.
  • Jesus came into this world susceptible to death.
  • You could kill Him.
  • And Jesus Christ reversed the picture.
  • He came to where mankind was and identified with man by taking all man's sins.
  • And then He went from one who was killed, and through resurrection came to be one who entered this Garden place, and was over everything.

Adam went from not having to die, to dying and losing power.
  • Jesus went from having our sins and dying, to seeing death have no more dominion over Him.

The Garden of Eden had a WAY OF THE TREE OF LIFE in it.
  • And a flaming sword with cherubim around it stood int hat way.
  • And anyone who would try to enter this place of dominion would be killed, because man then had sin.
  • Sin is not allowed in this most holy place.
  • So there at the entrance, one would die.

There is a thought involving the Passover night in Egypt that gives a great truth here.
  • At the entrances of the Hebrews' houses, they were commanded to splatter the blood of a sacrificial lamb, so that they might be saved from death that would invade the kingdom that night and slay all families' firstborn children.
  • There was death at the entrance.
  • Death could not touch those inside those houses.

That lamb speaks of Jesus Christ's death.
  • He is the door and He is the way.
  • Having that blood on the entrance of those whouses where death could not enter speaks of His DEATH that opened up the WAY for us to enter the Garden again.

It's a "way of the tree of life", because Jesus took the death we deserved.
  • He died to save us and give us life.
  • So it's all represented  by the picture of getting us back into the Garden.
  • We're not in a physical Garden now, but the position God gave Adam in the Garden is given to us.
  • So we can look at the pictrue of entering the garden as getting back the position God gave Adam.
  • Man is recovered.
  • All the pictures in the Garden entrance speak to us a message of how this would occur spiritually.

Because Jesus is our way, it's as though Jesus walked to the garden AS US, and was slain due to the sins from all of us that He took.
  • And He resurrected from the dead and is in the Garden as a forerunner, indicating that we are supposed to go on in now, as well.

It's only appointed to man ONCE to die.
  • - So since His death counts as our deaths, we can walk on into the Garden past the sword and claim eternal life that is in htere for us.
  • Like eating the meat of the slain lamb in the houses, we eat the fruit of eternal life.
  • This represents God's word.

Death hath no more dominion over us.

And we are in power now, and MUST SUBDUE.

We must realize we are alive from the dead now.
  • This is the reason most people do not enjoy power and victory.
  • They do not know what happened to them IN CHRIST.

This sort of power in Christ does not simply work automatically.
  • It requires your faith.
  • Your understanding.
  • You must present yourself to God as those alive from the dead.
  • The things in the spirit realm work as a result of your spirit enforcing things in the power of God's Spirit.
  • So they do not happen automatically.

You do nto just rpesent yourself to God.
  • You present yourself to God in a particular way.
  • AS THOSE ALIVE FROM THE DEAD.
  • That means you must consciously have something in your heart and in faith.
  • That will kick God's power into effect in you!

You realize that you DIED in Christ and God considers that death your death.
  • And DEATH FREES YOU FROM SIN.
  • God could not use Adam in dominion any more, and could not empower Him and back up Adam's commands against his enemies since Adam became sinful.
  • But we DIED TO SIN in Christ.
  • And We are free from sin now.
  • No longer contaminated.

And Christ died and death has no more power over HIm any more.
  • And we must consdier these things true of us now, as well, since His death is counted for ours.

Behind the wings of the Cherubims, death cannot enter.
  • Sin cannot enter.
  • Sickness cannot enter.
  • And we went through and on into this place!
  • We entered the place of dominion.

Jesus told Jerusalem he woudl have covered them under his wings.
  • He was referring to taking them into this place where the wings of thre cherubims covered the inside of the Garden.

Exodus 12:23 KJV
(23)  For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.

`Psalms 91:4 KJV
(4)  He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Over the ark of the covenant, the cherubim's wings were outstreched.

Exodus 25:20 KJV
(20)  And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

Toward the mercyseat they looked, where the blood was, as though we were INSIDE THE ARK, under the blood.

One day when the ark was hauled by oxen on an ox cart from Philistia, certain folks at Bethsehemesh opened the lid and tried to get past the cherubims to open the ark, and 50,070 people died (1 sam 6:19).
  • You cannot get past the wings if you are uncleana and sinful.
  • Death was unclean!

Death is man's greatest enemy, and is now defeated by Christ.
  • It is defeated but not yet destroyed.
  • So if that enemy is dealt with, then what other enemy can hurt us?
  • Death has no more dominion over us.
  • We already died once.

How can people see us inside the Garden past this killer sword?
  • Jesus died as us, and took the sword of death.
  • And we resurrected with Him, and

The power comes upon you as you yield yourself as those alive from the dead.

That means you know you died, and you were freed from sin.
  • And that means you also know you resurrected with Christ, and in Christ you are just as much considered to be resurrected as if you phyically died and resurrected.
  • And that makes you aware of how much dominion you have.
  • THAT IS HAVING FAITH!

Peopel who do not see themselves alive from the dead do not know the significance of all of this, and obviously do not know Christ's death counted as their's.

Move on out and SUBDUE things now!

The most holy place in the temple speaks of the Garden.
  • The priest had HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD on a gold band across His forehead.

Zechariah 14:20-21 KJV
(20)  In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
(21)  Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

Isaiah 4:3-6 KJV
(3)  And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
(4)  When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.
(5)  And the LORD will create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defence.
(6)  And there shall be a tabernacle for a shadow in the daytime from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.

From horse bridles to common pots and pans in teh homes, everything woudl have holiness to the Lord on it, because God's peopler are all in Christ and all are in the Most Holy Place.
  • Every home would have the pillar that only stood over the tabernacle, because we are all most holy, and are temples of the Holy Ghost.

Past the blood measn we have accepted Him!
  • Israel rejected Him.

Jesus is the Way.
  • The way had wings of cherubims there.

Revelation 21:27 KJV
(27)  And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

One big holiest of holies.

So SUBDUE things.
  • Subdue Cancer.
  • Get God's power active in you by presenting yourself to God as THOSE ALIVE FROM THE DEAD.

Revelation 21:16 KJV
(16)  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Only one other thing is a cube like this:

1 Kings 6:20 KJV
(20)  And the oracle in the forepart was twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and so covered the altar which was of cedar.

The oracle had a veil.

Hebrews 6:19-20 KJV
(19)  Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
(20)  Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

Past the veil.
