"DAY STAR, ARISE INSIDE ME"

2Pet 1:15-19 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance. For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

As I begin this sermon, let us also turn to 1 Cor. 4:3-4

2Cor 4:3-4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Satan so much blinds people from seeing the truth that even the looking into Judaism and the Old testament Word of God will not stop Satan from blinding a person to the truth.

2Cor 3:14-16 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which [vail] is done away in Christ. But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.

But if you look to Jesus, Satan is out of bounds.

He cannot blind your mind any longer.
Off from your heart comes the veil of blindness, and the light of the Gospel shines in.

We are told that a mind is blinded by Satan for the distinct purpose of causing one to not see the light of the gospel.

And if one cannot see the light of the Gospel, one is lost.
Satan desires to keep people lost.
So he blinds them.
He is so successful in blinding people that even Old Testament study will not protect you from his blinding power upon you.
But God's Spirit gives LIBERTY.

2Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.

In the following story we read of a man who studied the Old Testament, but was still blinded and could not understand what he read:

Acts 8:27-31 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot. And Philip ran thither to [him], and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest? And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

The man was blinded, but where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty.

Notice that verse 29 says THE SPIRIT led Philip to go to the man.
This tells us that there was going to be a liberty from the blinding power of Satan occur.
The Spirit that led Philip to the eunuch is the Spirit that brings LIBERTY to those who have a blinding veil on their hearts.

You need to hear a preacher who is filled with the Spirit so that you will be freed from your spiritual blindness from Satan.

If you are not living for God it is for one of two reasons:

You are not hearing a Spirit filled preacher.
If you are hearing a Spirit filled preacher, you are not paying close attention, and your heart is not turned towards the words.

Acts 8:32-35 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth. And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man? Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

When the man heard about Jesus, and SPIRIT ministered to his heart, he wanted to be baptized!

Acts 8:36 And as they went on [their] way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, [here is] water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

So many refuse to be baptized.

I cannot understand a person who claims to be a christian who will not be baptized.
They must still be blinded.
Those who are liberated from the blindness, like the Eunuch, will want to be baptized.

Light shines in your heart.

2Cor 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to [give] the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

Peter said that when the veil is removed, and your heart is exposed to the Light, you need to take heed UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS.

2Pet 1:19 We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until...

Until...

Your heart is a dark place if you are not a Christian.

And your dark heart suddenly see light when the veil of Satan's blinding power is removed from you.
But You simply do not look once.
And you do not look for just a moment.
YOU LOOK UNTIL.....

Until what?

"until.... the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: "

If you take heed long enough, suddenly a DAY DAWNS inside your heart.

Your heart that was so black suddenly experiences DAYLIGHT!
You experience a morning.
Your dark night is over.
A Ten Billion Watt light bulb goes on!
And the DAY STAR arises INSIDE YOUR HEART.
It does not shine UPON you like the song says.
It ARISES INSIDE YOU!!

What is this Day Star?

What is this Light that Arises inside you when the day dawns, or the morning occurs?

Reve 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.

It is JESUS, HIMSELF.

You turn your heart to Jesus and you believe in Him, and look until a miracle occurs.
Jesus arises INSIDE your heart.

A group of people were blinded, but listened to a Spirit filled preacher one day, named Peter.

He preached this glorious Gospel.
Suddenly something happened.

Acts 10:44-46 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. ...

A new day dawned in their hearts!

Jesus Himself, the Holy Ghost, Arose within their hearts!
He was IN THEM!

When Israel was ready to leave Egypt, under Moses' leadership, the time of their departure was in a month that would from that time forward be the beginning of their year.

Exod 12:2 This month [shall be] unto you the beginning of months: it [shall be] the first month of the year to you.

Where there is a beginning there is an ending.

When you experience Christ, the day dawns.
YOU BEGIN a new life, no matter what your old life was.
And your old life ENDS.
God does not remember your old life any longer.
It is a NEW BEGINNING for you.

Exod 12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth [day] of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of [their] fathers, a lamb for an house:

In the TENTH day they took a Lamb.

Exod 12:6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.

In the FOURTEENTH day they killed the lamb.

This was FOUR DAYS that they had the Lamb.

2Pet 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Four days they kept the lamb and then killed it represents how that since Adam until Jesus Christ died, four thousand years passed.

He was slain from the foundation of the world.
He was PLANNED to die since the very beginning when Adam sinned.
From Adam's time, the Lamb was taken and kept.
Jesus is the Lamb of God, said John the Baptist.

This was the beginning of the Hebrew New Year.

It was the end of our old lives and the beginning of the New, when we believed in Jesus.
Jesus is the Beginning and the Ending.

Reve 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

He is the beginning of your new life and He is the ending of your old life.

Exod 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until....

They were to eat the lamb just as we are to take heed to the Word of God UNTIL something happened.

"Until... the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. "

UNTIL THE MORNING:

Compare:

Exod 12:10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
2 Peter 1:19... ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

The morning will come if you eat all of the lamb.

You will suddenly experience a new day and the day star will arise in your hearts.

You cannot enter heaven on the shirt-tails of somebody else's experience.

YOU MUST TAKE HEED until the day dawn IN YOUR OWN HEART.
You cannot say, "I believe whatever my church teaches... whatever that is," and expect to be saved.
You must turn YOUR HEART to the Lord and BELIEVE HIM FOR YOURSELF until something happens TO YOU.

I have seen people who saw the light until the day star arose in their hearts and they became christians.

But they stopped looking to Jesus and an oily darkness seeped into their hearts again and their daylight turned once again to the darkness they were in before salvation.
They backslid.

You are actually baptized into Jesus' death when you believe and are baptized.

Roma 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

And something POWERFUL occurs in your life when you are baptized into Christ.

Ephe 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

I always used to think that this verse meant that God's Word is applied to dirty christians who are living for God but need to come to a place where they are spotless so they can be presented to Jesus as a glorious church without spot or wrinkle.

But I discovered that this is totally incorrect.

Jesus died and gave Himself in that death for the purpose of having a church without spot or wrinkle.

Now why would He have to die so that there could be a church without spot or wrinkle?
His death would be the "place" we would enter into by baptism into His death (Ro. 6:3).
And when we enter His death by water baptism, we experience the WASHING OF WATER.
The WASHING OF WATER is water Baptism into His death.
We read HE GAVE HIMSELF for us so that we could experience the WASHING OF WATER.
"He gave himself" refers to HIS DEATH.
"Washing of water" refers to water baptism INTO HIS DEATH.
But we know that dipping someone in water is not all that there is to it.
Philip told the Eunuch who asked to be baptized, that he could, IF HE BELIEVED WITH ALL HIS HEART.
He that BELIEVETH and is BAPTIZED shall be saved. (Mark 16:16).
Baptism is nothing WITHOUT FAITH IN THE WORD.
That is why Paul said WASHING OF WATER BY THE WORD.

And the moment we are baptized in Jesus' name, in faith believing, WE ARE SPOTLESS.

WE ARE WITHOUT WRINKLE.
WE ARE WITHOUT ANY SUCH THING.
WE ARE BLAMELESS.
WE ARE HOLY.
WE ARE WITHOUT BLEMISH.

We do not become saved and then experience a process of washing so that we will on e day become spotless.

We are spotless from the moment we are baptized in water with faith.

All these verses prove my point:

Roma 6:3-4 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Roma 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.
1Cor 6:10-11 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
Titu 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Reve 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Ephe 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

Once you get this faith that Jesus is the answer, LIGHT SHINES UNTIL A DAY DAWNS IN YOUR HEART.

Then you get BAPTIZED and become SPOTLESS.

Colo 1:21-22 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in [your] mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

And you remain spotless and remain cleansed...

Colo 1:23 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;

We must REMAIN IN THIS PLACE OF FAITH in Christ.

Colo 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Stay depending upon God's work on the cross in order for you to stay holy.

You mess up if you forget you were purged from your sins, and start thinking you need to become clean after you are saved.

2Pet 1:9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

Do not get BLINDED AGAIN after you are saved.

Get the day star to arise INSIDE YOUR HEART.

And then get baptized and become SPOTLESS, and keep that SPOTLESSNESS by remaining in faith with Jesus, growing in your understanding.
This cannot happen for you who only come to church Sunday Mornings and never attend bible teaching nights.

If you slipped away back into the night and the sun has set in your heart, no longer shining in high-noon brightness, see it arise again by turning away from the things that captivated your MIND.

Sports can so grip a person's heart that it becomes more important than God.
One's heart can start desiring sports more than God.
Other's hearts turn towards the filth of the world, glorified in Television's soap operas.
These things cause the sun to set in your heart.

See the SUN RISE AGAIN by turning to Jesus and making HIM FIRST IN YOUR LIFE.

Sinner, look to Him for the first time UNTIL the day dawns in you!
