COMPLETE IN HIM

Colo 2:6-15  As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, [so] walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with [him] through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [And] having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

It is hard to believe in something that we can do if we do not understand we can actually do it.

When you truly understand what the Bible teaches about the work God accomplished for us, then you will appreciate your value and power, and easily believe.

The Bible teaches that we are made righteous the moment we are saved.

Gala 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
In order to understand this, we must take a look at Adam, and how he affected us.
Roma 5:12  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Roma 5:19  For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

One man, Adam, made the Human race a sinful race.

Those of us who believe understand that.

Do not seek righteousness, now that you are re saved. Being in Jesus Christ makes us righteous.

If a man can make all people sinners, then by the same rule another man can make us all righteous.

Adam was ready to give us all life, in the Garden,. but instead he gave us death. It is so sad that people do not see that everything they need is in Christ.

Judas betrayed the Lord and sold Him for thirty pieces of silver.

Did you read that? Judas tried to correct the problem, without going to Jesus. Then he hanged himself. Moses lifted up the rod at the Red Sea. Right from the start of our christian lives, we had all we needed. We are told that we were reconciled to God when we were put in Christ. The way I received Jesus is the way I must walk in Him (verse 6) It is not a complex thing. Paul's entire purpose as a minister was to preach Christ being the fullness until everybody he preached to were convinced of that, and would look to Jesus for all their needs. I have in recent years began to fully understand that from the start I have been complete in Jesus Christ, and simply did not know it.

How do we walk worthy of this calling to salvation?

He says that increasing in the knowledge of God is the way to walking worthy. This is only true for you if you were baptized in the water and Spirit into Him.
Roma 6:3-4   Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Look at what Jesus is described as:
Colo 1:13-19  Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated [us] into the kingdom of his dear Son:
  1. ...In whom we have redemption through his blood,
  2. ...[even] the forgiveness of sins:
  3. ...Who is the image of the invisible God,
  4. ...the firstborn of every creature:
  5. ...For by him were all things created, that are in heaven,
  6. ...and that are in earth,
  7. ...visible
  8. ...and invisible,
  9. ...whether [they be] thrones,
  10. ...or dominions,
  11. ...or principalities,
  12. ...or powers:
  13. ...all things were created by him, and for him:
  14. ...And he is before all things,
  15. ...and by him all things consist.
  16. ...And he is the head of the body, the church:
  17. ...who is the beginning,
  18. ...the firstborn from the dead;
  19. ...that in all [things] he might have the preeminence.
  20. ...For it pleased [the Father] that in him should all fulness dwell;
Look at all the qualifications Jesus has!!! God's Spirit is now in us. Some sing, "Oh what needless pain we bear, all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer." I know people that pray a lot, but do not KNOW they are complete in Christ and therefore they try to make themselves more holy, when all along we have been holy by just being in Christ. Let us walk in Him, in full reliance upon Him as our only hope, as we have received Him.
