"THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST"

2The 2:3-4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2The 2:8-15  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

In Genesis Chapter 3, the most subtle beast of the field promoted the thought that mankind could be gods, themselves.

The self-for-self spirit of antichrist, causing one to not see the need for Jesus THE Christ (not merely "a" Christ, of many), caused Adam to defend himself when God confronted him about his sin.

As believers baptized into Jesus' death, our old lives are forever gone.

We are entirely new creatures, created in Christ Jesus. As believers, in order to maintain our position of completion and righteousness and complete holiness, we must ever rely upon Jesus Christ and our union to Him. We are told by Paul in Colossians 2, that we must never allow anything to cause us to stop relying upon Christ's finished work on the cross for righteousness. It is the spirit of antichrist, first perpetrated in the Garden by the most subtle beast, that urges us to lead our own lives.
1Joh 2:27-29  But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
We must rely upon the leading of the Spirit in our lives. Jesus is the Christ. It is antichrist to think there are other means to God.

THE MARK OF THE BEAST

So many are concerned over the mark of the beast.

If you do not contract the measles virus, you will not get the marks of the virus. Lets get to the root of the issue. Let us concern ourselves with the beast, and not the mark of the beast. Paul said that he could not come to preach in excellency of speech or wisdom of man. The mark of the beast will not even be an option for people who are not pro-Christ.
Matt 12:30  He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad.
There is no middle ground. Sinners SHALL worship the beast.
There is a man of sin who shall be revealed. What an opportunity for good to be done when people are united together! God saw what great opportunity there was in the world's unity, but of all things, "...this they begin to do!" The spirit of antichrist began as a simple THOUGHT. 2 Thessalonians speaks of that manifestation of the spirit until it is a MAN OF SIN.

And there will be TWO THINGS
THAT WILL EMPOWER THIS MAN OF SIN
.

  1. 2The 2:9  [Even him], whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
  2. 2The 2:10  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
The second empowering force is found within sinners themselves. A sinner told me he would rather see drunk drivers in the world, knowing how many lives are slain each year by them, than see "Billy Grahams" in the world; and by that he simply meant Christian preachers. Hollywood will make hinduism and buddhism look respectable, and make Christianity look fanatical and idiotic. The world simply is so antichrist, that it cannot stand to think it is not a race of gods, so to speak. Mormons say that we can become gods, ourselves.
  • He is ALL!
  • His glory will He share with no other person! -- divine or otherwise.
  • These are the results of the deceivableness of unrighteousness, and that feeds the antichrist spirit.

If you are a sinner, you are unrighteous.

    That is why we read:
2The 2:15  Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.
If we hold to Christ, we will not have to fear the spirit of antichrist, and in turn, the mark of the beast.

Forever, rely upon Jesus Christ as your righteousness and holiness and way to God.

And there are those who say, "I was born in this denomination, and I will die in this denomination!" Antichrist spirit is the attitude and force that refuses to depend upon Jesus Christ for guidance and truth and leading..

Another note of antichrist is the refusal to accept one's need to be pastored and preached to.

1Cor 1:17  For Christ sent me ...to preach the gospel:
If Christ sent men to PREACH, then it is ANTICHRIST to refuse to hear a preacher.
Ephe 4:11-13  And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
If God called pastors, etc., to do the work of perfecting the saints, edifying the body of Christ until we all come to the unity of the faith, etc, then it is ANTICHRIST to refuse to be pastored. Why?
1Cor 1:29  That no flesh should glory in his presence.
If we do not need one to preach to us, then that gives us that much glory to exalt ourselves and say that we did it on our own. The world might hate the thought of Christ and their need to rely upon Him to save them, but Paul says:
1Cor 1:30  But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
We need to respect preaching as God's way to give us truth, and pastors and teachers as God's means to perfect the church. Antichrist is human, independent pride. I have a great concern, as a pastor. God made us to be the temple, and that means the Lord built the house this time. Is there any refusing to change your life just for the sake of refusing? When I came to God, I had the attitude, "Whatever is wrong in my life, God, I will abandon it and allow you to lead me.  Whatever my pastor preaches, in sincerity for my soul, if it s in the Bible, I will obey.  Whatever it takes, nothing will be too hard for me to give up, if I must, to serve you better!"
2The 2:11-17  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given [us] everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
