"NO COMPROMISE, DEVIL"

Exod 5:1-3  And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who [is] the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go. And they said, The God of the Hebrews hath met with us: let us go, we pray thee, three days' journey into the desert, and sacrifice unto the LORD our God; lest he fall upon us with pestilence, or with the sword.

Pharaoh tried to compromise that three day journey. The Holy Ghost was said to speak about an area of truth to the Church, for a good reason.
John 16:13-15  Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew [it] unto you.
The Holy Ghost will show us what is of Jesus Christ as Son of God, because the Son died, was buried and resurrected AS US. Now, the devil does not want that to happen to people. Pharaoh did not want Israel to take that three day journey properly.

RESPONSE NUMBER ONE

Pharoah represents the devil who has a grip on mankind, since the time Adam sinned and threw the whole human race into bondage.

Work harder.

RESPONSE NUMBER TWO

Four plagues occurred in Egypt and at the fourth one, God separated Israel from Egypt.

The word division means "redemption" in Hebrew. Notice this compromise: The sacrifice was an abomination to the Egyptians. They were going to sacrifice a lamb, and watching them kill a lamb was abomination to Egypt. The three day's journey was a leaving of the world!
Gala 1:4  Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
We cannot mix the world with Christianity RESPONSE NUMBER THREE
Exod 8:28  And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me.
"Okay, go but do not go very far." Preachers everywhere need to stand up and respond as Moses did:
Exod 8:29  And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms [of flies] may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.
RESPONSE NUMBER FOUR
Exod 10:8-11  And Moses and Aaron were brought again unto Pharaoh: and he said unto them, Go, serve the LORD your God: [but] who [are] they that shall go? And Moses said, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters, with our flocks and with our herds will we go; for we [must hold] a feast unto the LORD. And he said unto them, Let the LORD be so with you, as I will let you go, and your little ones: look [to it]; for evil [is] before you. Not so: go now ye [that are] men, and serve the LORD; for that ye did desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.
"Go, but do not take your children with you." Now we know that a little while later when Israel came to enter the land, the adults doubted.

RESPONSE NUMBER FIVE

Exod 10:24  And Pharaoh called unto Moses, and said, Go ye, serve the LORD; only let your flocks and your herds be stayed: let your little ones also go with you.
Okay, take your children, but leave your flocks. Another note: Moses replied:
Exod 10:25-26  And Moses said, Thou must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings, that we may sacrifice unto the LORD our God.Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve the LORD our God; and we know not with what we must serve the LORD, until we come thither.
Last was the plague of death.
  1. Work harder.
  2. Sacrifice here.
  3. Don't go full three days.
  4. Don't take your children with you.
  5. Don't take your herds, your possessions, with you.
What is God trying to show us? Notice what God told the people about Passover!
Exod 12:8-9  And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; [and] with bitter [herbs] they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast [with] fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
Eat not of it SODDEN.
