2Corinthians 11:2    For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
2Corinthians 11:3    But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

The Battle of the Ages Between the Dragon and the Woman

From Genesis to Revelation there is a THEME of the dragon against the woman.

The serpent sought to seduce the woman's heart away from God to his own sort of wickedness the serpent had which was exalting himself.

Gen 3:1    Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Gen 3:2    And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Gen 3:3    But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Gen 3:4    And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

After the sin of Adam and Eve, God reveals He will use the devil's tactics and destroy the devil's purpose through a woman.

Gen 3:14    And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Gen 3:15    And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

And the theme begins.

Proverbs speaks about wisdom as a WOMAN.

Pro 1:20    Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:
Pro 1:21    She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
Pro 1:22    How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
Pro 1:23    Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

Pro 8:1    Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
Pro 8:2    She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
Pro 8:3    She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
Pro 8:4    Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
Pro 8:5    O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

Notice she stands at the high places.

Same thing is mentioned in next chapter.

Pro 9:1    Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Pro 9:2    She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table.
Pro 9:3    She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city,
Pro 9:4    Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Pro 9:5    Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.
Pro 9:6    Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.

But the same chapter also shows something entirely opposite to be a woman as well.

Pro 9:13    A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.
Pro 9:14    For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city,
Pro 9:15    To call passengers who go right on their ways:
Pro 9:16    Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,
Pro 9:17    Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant.

Notice a difference in what she offers.

All through the bible we get the wise and the foolish and the two women.

The wise woman is a BRIDE and the foolish is a HARLOT.

Eve spiritually became a harlot.
But God mercifully turned her back into a bride.
Song 5:1    I am come into my garden, my sister, my spouse: I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey; I have drunk my wine with my milk: eat, O friends; drink, yea, drink abundantly, O beloved.

Song 4:12    A garden inclosed is my sister, my spouse; a spring shut up, a fountain sealed.

The dragon continued to seek to destroy the woman through whom the seed would come.
Sarah was attacked.
The picture shows the WOMAN is threatened BUT THE DRAGON FAILS EVERY TIME.

Israel was so tempted to kill its children.

Lev 18:21    And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I am the LORD.

Lev 20:2    Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever he be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that giveth any of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.

JOSIAH - 2Ki 23:10    And he defiled Topheth, which is in the valley of the children of Hinnom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Molech.

Why such an odd temptation?
The woman is always labouring to bring forth the seed.
Deborah is a judge of Israel.

Jdg 4:17    Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
Jdg 4:18    And Jael went out to meet Sisera, and said unto him, Turn in, my lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned in unto her into the tent, she covered him with a mantle.
Jdg 4:19    And he said unto her, Give me, I pray thee, a little water to drink; for I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink, and covered him.
Jdg 4:20    Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and enquire of thee, and say, Is there any man here? that thou shalt say, No.
Jdg 4:21    Then Jael Heber's wife took a nail of the tent, and took an hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, and smote the nail into his temples, and fastened it into the ground: for he was fast asleep and weary. So he died.

Deborah sings a song and mentions this.

Jdg 5:24    Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
Jdg 5:25    He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
Jdg 5:26    She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen's hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and stricken through his temples.
Jdg 5:27    At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.

She is blessed above all women.
Luk 1:28    And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.

The MOTHER OF JESUS who actually birthed Jesus.

Then another Abimilech later comes to burn down a tower.

Jdg 9:53    But a certain woman threw an upper millstone down on Abimelech's head, fracturing his skull.

The rock from a woman crushes the enemy's head.

Rahab is a harlot who became a bride and was an ancestor of Mary.

Esther brought deliverance to the kingdom and saved all the Jews.
Mary speaks a declaration in spirit of prophecy about the whole work of God in foiling the enemy's plans.
Luk 1:51    He displayed his mighty power with his arm. He scattered people who were proud in mind and heart.
Luk 1:52    He pulled powerful rulers from their thrones and lifted up humble people.
Luk 1:53    He filled hungry people with good things and sent rich people away with nothing.
Luk 1:54    He helped his servant Israel, remembering to be merciful,
Luk 1:55    according to the promise he made to our ancestors—to Abraham and his descendants forever."

Then we go to Revelation.

Rev 12:1    And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Rev 12:2    And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.
Rev 12:3    And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.
Rev 12:4    And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Rev 12:5    And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.
Rev 12:6    And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Her CRY is literally in Greek a declaration and proclamation.

This woman is Israel.
This is the purpose of Israel.... to bring forth Messiah.

Dragon bites but misses the child.
Job brings out a biblical metaphor for the physical relationship of a man and woman.

Job 31:1    I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?
Job 31:2    For what portion of God is there from above? and what inheritance of the Almighty from on high?
Job 31:3    Is not destruction to the wicked? and a strange punishment to the workers of iniquity?
Job 31:4    Doth not he see my ways, and count all my steps?
Job 31:5    If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;
Job 31:6    Let me be weighed in an even balance, that God may know mine integrity.
Job 31:7    If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;
Job 31:8    Then let me sow, and let another eat; yea, let my offspring be rooted out.
Job 31:9    If mine heart have been deceived by a woman, or if I have laid wait at my neighbour's door;
Job 31:10    Then let my wife grind unto another, and let others bow down upon her.

Grinding at the mill is a metaphor for sexual relationship.

This issue is all through the bible, and it brings out something powerful about the entire issue of the SEED coming forth.

Isa 47:2    Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers.

Jer 25:10    Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.

Another is the threshingfloor

Ruth very forwardly goes to Boaz at the threshingfloor, it being her right due to levirate law of kinsman redeemer, after her husband died.

David sinned and God sent a monstrous angel to destroy Jerusalem as punishment.

1Ch 21:15    And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.
1Ch 21:16    And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

1Ch 21:18    Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

1Ch 21:28    At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.

2Ch 3:1    Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

The bible mentioned this detail over and over again for a reason.
Threshingfloor is where chaff is separated from wheat.
So, Jesus speaks so much of wheat and chaff.

When the ark was returned to Jerusalem on the ox cart, and Uzzah reached out to steady it when it began to slip....

2Sa 6:6    And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
2Sa 6:7    And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

Like the ARK KNEW its home would be in the temple which was a threshingfloor location where God would interact with His WIFE!

Then we come to Hosea:

Hos 1:2    The beginning of the word of the LORD by Hosea. And the LORD said to Hosea, Go, take unto thee a wife of whoredoms and children of whoredoms: for the land hath committed great whoredom, departing from the LORD.

Israel was supposed to bring forth the SEED but she committed whoredoms against God with other gods, which was adultery in His mind.
Hos 9:1 ISV    "Don't celebrate, Israel, like other nations would rejoice, because you left your God by committing fornication, loving the profit you gained on all of the threshing floors.

This was HIS BRIDE going to other threshingfloors.

Eze 16:1    Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 16:2    Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
Eze 16:3    And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
Eze 16:4    And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
Eze 16:5    None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
Eze 16:6    And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
Eze 16:7    I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
Eze 16:8    Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
Eze 16:9    Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.

Eze 16:15    "But you trusted in your beauty. You did what whores do, as a result of your fame. You passed out your sexual favors to anyone who passed by, giving yourself to anyone.
Eze 16:16    You took some of your clothes and made gaily-colored high places and prostituted yourself all around them—something which had never happened before nor will ever happen again.
Eze 16:17    "You also took your fine jewelry—including my gold and my silver that I had given you. Then you made for yourself male images and had sex with them!

Eze 16:26    Then you committed immorality with your neighbors, the Egyptians, with perverted lust, and by doing so you fornicated even more, provoking me to anger.
Eze 16:27    "Therefore, look out! I've reached out to oppose you. I withdrew your rations and delivered you to those Philistine women who hate you. Even they were embarrassed at your wicked ways!
Eze 16:28    You committed immorality with the Assyrians, because you still weren't satisfied. You committed immorality with them, but you still weren't satisfied.
Eze 16:29    You committed even more immorality with that land of the merchants, the Chaldeans. But you weren't satisfied even with these!

Eze 16:31    When you built your mound on every street corner and constructed your high place at every plaza, you weren't like a common prostitute, in that you've insulted the wages of a prostitute
Eze 16:32    who commits adultery, preferring a stranger over her husband!

Eze 16:40    They'll bring a mob against you to stone you to death and cut you into pieces with their swords.
Eze 16:41    Then they'll burn your houses and carry out my sentence against you in the sight of many women. "That's how I'll make you stop your prostitution so you won't pay any prostitute's fees anymore.

Eze 23:40    "In addition, they sent messengers for men to come from afar. When they arrived, you bathed yourself for them, painted your eyes, adorned yourself with jewelry,
Eze 23:41    then sat down on an elegant bed. A table was arranged in front of it, on which you set out my incense and oil.

JUST LIKE JEZEBEL

2Ki 9:30    And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.
2Ki 9:31    And as Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, Had Zimri peace, who slew his master?
2Ki 9:32    And he lifted up his face to the window, and said, Who is on my side? who? And there looked out to him two or three eunuchs.
2Ki 9:33    And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.
2Ki 9:34    And when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king's daughter.
2Ki 9:35    And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.

Go through 2, 3, 4 chapters of Jeremiah.

Isa 1:21    "How the faithful city has become a whore, she who used to be filled with justice! Righteousness used to reside within her, but now only murderers live there.

SAME THING.

Joh 19:15    Then they shouted, "Take him away! Take him away! Crucify him!" Pilate asked them, "Should I crucify your king?" The high priests responded, "We have no king but Caesar!"

The woman flees into the wilderness in Revelation 12 after the man child is taken to the throne,

Next time you see the woman she is a harlot who seems to like that wilderness.

Rev 17:1    And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
Rev 17:2    With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
Rev 17:3    So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
Rev 17:4    And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
Rev 17:5    And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Rev 17:6    And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

Rev 18:24    And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

What city is biblically known to kill prophets?

Mat 23:37    O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Luk 13:33    Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

She kills prophets because they've come like prosecuting attorneys with lawsuit to Israel who broke covenant with God.

She gave in to the seduction of the dragon so he could destroy her seed.

Her judgment:

Rev 17:15    And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Rev 17:16    And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

EXACT SAME JUDGMENT AS HERE:

Eze 16:41    And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

Eze 23:25    And I will set my jealousy against thee, and they shall deal furiously with thee: they shall take away thy nose and thine ears; and thy remnant shall fall by the sword: they shall take thy sons and thy daughters; and thy residue shall be devoured by the fire.

Rev 19 shows destruction of harlot causing all heaven to rejoice!

Shortly come to pass.

But A BRIDE COMES! FROM HEAVEN!

Rev 21:2    And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

Rev 21:9    And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
Rev 21:10    And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

This is symbolism of the church's heavenly origin!

Heb 12:22    Instead, you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, to the heavenly Jerusalem, to tens of thousands of angels joyfully gathered together,

Mat 5:14    Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

And satan is DEFEATED!

Revelation is a covenant lawsuit against God's bride turned harlot.
