Exodus- "The Way Out"

Pastor Gary Garner

PART TWENTY FIVE

Return to Exodus 15
8 And with the blast of Your nostrils
The waters were gathered together;
The floods stood upright like a heap;
The depths congealed in the heart of the sea.
Notice "the blast of his nostrils."  God breathed into the first Adam's nostrils the breath of life.  When that happened to you in the new birth, when Father gave you His new life at the new birth, that is when Pharaoh was destroyed.  He breathed into you life.  Hebrews 2:14 says that Jesus destroyed him that had the power of death, by passing through death.
9 The enemy said, 'I will pursue,
I will overtake,
I will divide the spoil;
My desire shall be satisfied on them.
I will draw my sword,
My hand shall destroy them.'
This is what the enemy said.  That word "destroy" means "repossess us".  That is what he came to do.  Until you know your union with Christ, the enemy is still after you.

How does he repossess you?  Look over in Hebrews 11.  How can he get me back in the world?  It's been done with others.  Hebrews 11 tells us how to keep from letting him do it.

14For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland.
15And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return.
How does the enemy seek to repossess you?  It is by causing you to be mindful of the place that you came out of.

The children of Israel got over there and they began to desire the flesh pots of Egypt.  Things got a little tough.  It wasn't as easy as they thought it would be.  The first mistake they made was not call on their Father, and they looked back to Egypt and believed a lie.  Christians can become mindful of the fleshpots in Egypt -- things that satisfy the flesh, instead of Father feeding you with heavenly manna.  That's another sermon, we'll get there.

Exodus 15 they continued to say,

10 You blew with Your wind,
The sea covered them;
They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 "Who is like You, O Lord, among the gods?
Who is like You, glorious in holiness,
Fearful in praises, doing wonders?
12 You stretched out Your right hand;
The earth swallowed them.
In Rev.  Chapter 12, from the man child, who speaks of what is birthed out of the Church, is coming a people with the nature of Christ.  The Bible says that the enemy sought to destroy the woman, but the earth swallowed up the flood that he spit out.

Same story.

13 You in Your mercy have led forth
The people whom You have redeemed;
You have guided them in Your strength
To Your holy habitation.
14 "The people will hear and be afraid;
Sorrow will take hold of the inhabitants of Philistia.
Notice "sorrow," when the people begin to understand the redemption.  Who will be sorrowful?  Those in Philistia, the Philistines, will be sorrowful.  Those who are rolling in the dust.  Those who roll in the flesh-realm, with nothing but flesh-sight.

Secondly, the dukes of Edom -- Esau -- those who sell their birthrights for something in the natural.

The mighty men of Moab will take hold of them.

They are people at ease who will not be changed into a new vessel.  They don't like this song of Moses and will be those who are sorrowful.  They are going to miss out on what Father is doing.  The age that we are living demands change.

All the inhabitants of Canaan will melt away.

They haven't even stepped into Canaan yet.  But God made them a promise that they would make it to the end.
Just the fact that you have a personal Red Sea experience, means you will have a personal Canaan experience.
It's in the song of the Lord.  If you can sing the song of the Lord, these things are yours.

16 Fear and dread will fall on them;
By the greatness of Your arm
They will be as still as a stone,
Till Your people Passover, O Lord,
Till the people Passover
Whom You have purchased.
17 You will bring them in and plant them
How many of you know the roots of your system must be planted down in Christ?
...In the mountain of Your inheritance.
That's Zion!
In the place, O Lord, which You have made
For Your own dwelling,
The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
18 "The Lord shall reign forever and ever."
See this is the same song, they sing in Rev.  15
19For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and the Lord brought back the waters of the sea upon them.  But the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.
20Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.
21And Miriam answered them:
All of the women and Miriam began to shout and dance.  All of them!  See Gen.  3:15 Father said, out of a woman will come the seed.  And I tell you the devil has attacked women from the very outset.  When the song of Moses is sang, the women know they're free!  They shout!

I want you to see from Marah to Elim as I finish this chapter.  They finished singing this song and had not entered the wilderness yet.

22So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur.  And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water.
Tthis is the very first lesson that they had to learn after they were delivered from the enemy.  The very first. They will continue to learn this during all of their experience from the time they get saved until the time of the fullness of Christ.  This is one thing they will constantly apply to themselves.

They went into the wilderness of "Shur," which  means "wall."  Isaiah 60:18 says our wall is salvation.  This principle is what builds a wall around you, a fence of protection around you.  Your salvation ought to have some protection established in your life.  What was the principle we must learn from this story?  They came to a place they had no water.  The most important thing you need to know in the wilderness is where to get your water .
