Exodus- "The Way Out"

PART TWENTY ONE

UNDER CONTROL OF THE SPIRIT

Exodus 13:13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb;
This tells me that that old nature is going to be dealt with only one way and that is throughout the blood sacrifice of Jesus.  Then it says, ...
...and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.
Here's the deal.  If you can't redeem the thing with the lamb, then God said, “Break it's neck.”  The neck is a picture of the will.  Here's the thought.  There is much teaching in the church world today about the concept that God is trying to break our wills.  But he is not trying to break our wills.  He is trying to get us to understand the blood sacrifice of the Lamb.  Can you see?  It's like two scales.  You can either redeem it with the lamb or break it's neck.  It's the same principle.  You can exchange the will, the emotions and the soulish lamb with the blood covenant, or you can just physically break his neck.  Are you hearing this?

You can get to the same place both ways.  Its whichever way you want to go.  I've seen people who got there through great tragedy.  It would have been easier if they got there by the teaching of the Lamb’s death.

Lets look at Zechariah 9:9

Can you see that when Jesus comes in riding on that ass, that the lamb has been redeemed?  It's got Jesus on it.

9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Do you believe that?  I believe the King is coming to the church.  I believe He is on his way.  I believe that the manifest presence of God is on the horizon.  But He is going to come riding on something.  He has a vehicle.  God is calling you to become a vehicle.  Do you want His presence on you?

Notice He is not just riding upon the foal, He is riding upon the mother and the son.

Of Whom would the mother speak?  The church!

Of whom would the son speak?  That which the church births!

And what Jesus is doing is entering into Jerusalem, the church, riding on the mother with his feet on the son.  He is riding out the old and bringing in the new.

At the end of the church age, He will ride into the church on that colt that has never been rode before.

There are people who think the church age is over.  Not so.  Jesus rides out the mother (the church) and when His presence is manifest in the church, He will be on something that has never been ridden before.  That's the next age, the new kingdom.

Mark 11:1 AND when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring him.
This colt has characteristics of what God is doing right now.  First of all it's tied up.
Verse 3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this?  say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
Where did they find the colt?  They found it tied by the door.  Who is the door?  It's Jesus.  It’s in a place where two ways met.  We are living in a church-way.  You will find this colt in a way — the two ways met.  It’s the moment when the old way is moving out and a new day is arriving.

Then He says, “And they loose him.”

We are living at the end of one way and the beginning of the other.  And there is a vehicle of who Jesus will ride, upon whom Jesus’ presence will rest.  That will be loosed, freed.

Job 39 this is the answer to the whole deal.

5 Who hath sent out the wild ass free?  or who hath loosed the bands of the wild ass?
This is God talking to Job about who is running the show.  What we’re talking about here is a sovereign act of God.  People say we’re going to do this or that.  There is a people being informed of some things.  But God is the one who is doing the loosing.  He is the one who sends the two men.  He is the one who unties.  You be found at the door.  Just go through those characteristics of the wild ass, and make sure you are free of those things.  Make sure you go up to the mountain.  Make sure you see the sacrifice of the Son.

You don't have time to do your own thing.  You need to be in the house of God learning the Word, in your home learning the Word.  I wish I could teach this word every day.  The problem is there is too much of the wild ass nature in the church, that keeps them out.  You need to make sure you have your own burial.  If you don't then the wild ass nature is still there.  He is still there.  Make sure you’re found in these places where the ass cannot be found.

This is not just a Bible lesson.  It's something we have to have fulfilled in our lives.  Some people just refuse to be controlled.  Those who want to go to the fullness of the promise-child, of Isaac, will come willingly under the control of the Spirit and the Word.

The flesh is fighting your spirit.  Your spirit must grow and take control of the flesh.  Why does the flesh it fight?  It's been taught to be a wild man.  How do you overcome it?  It's through the sacrifice of the Lamb.  If you won't do that, then you better keep your head low.

I will do it.  How about you?

There are no long-term short-cuts in the body of Christ.  There aren't any lasting quick fixes.  We must grow up.  It's a process, but it is a must.

What you need to know is what God is doing in your life.  You are going somewhere.  God is dealing with the church, bringing her together, causing here to be a person with some restraint.
