The Connection of the Lord's Prayer and the Book of Revelation

December 8, 2013

Heb 2:14    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15    And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Rev 12:9    And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the
earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rev 12:10    And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Rev 12:11    And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

There are two powerful points of emphasis here.

Also, the saints overcome by the blood of Jesus.

There's powerful emphasis put upon the will of the Father being done in the earth.

Rev 5:9    And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Rev 5:10    And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

Revelation 12 said the casting down of the devil to the earth meant the KINGDOM HAD COME!

Jesus overcame the devil by the will of the Father. not his own will.

Luke 22:42    Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.
Luke 22:43    And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

Notice that Christ sought not his own will, but the will of the Father, and THEN angels strengthened him.
We read that the KINGDOM CAME and STRENGTH came as well, when the devil was cast down .

Rev 12 is saying that the saints were responsible for the casting down of satan.

Michael and the angels fought, but the victory of overcoming the devil was attributed to the saints whom the devil accused.
It also implied they overcame his accusations!

All by prayer!

Notice what else is emphasized about prayer.

This links Revelation to the Lord's prayer.

Rev 5:8    And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints.

So, we see the KINGDOM connection to the Lord's Prayer in the saints ruling ON EARTH where the Father's will needs to be done, connected with Psalm 110 where the Fathers will is to make Christ;s enemies His footstool.

Vials full of the incense of the prayers of the saints is the same sort of incense that we read of later.

Rev 8:3    And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with
the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.  [THRONE DEPICTS KINGDOM CONCEPT]
Rev 8:4    And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
Rev 8:5    And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and
lightnings, and an earthquake.

And when the seven angels pour out seven vials, they are specifically judgments ON EARTH, and proceed in the same sequence that the even days of GENESIS EARTH creation occur, stressing EARTH is being judged.

Rev 16:1    And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
Rev 16:2    And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the
beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.
Rev 16:3    And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.
Rev 16:4    And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
Rev 16:5    And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
Rev 16:6    For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
Rev 16:7    And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
Rev 16:8    And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Rev 16:9    And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
Rev 16:10    And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Rev 16:11    And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.
Rev 16:12    And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the
east might be prepared.
Rev 16:13    And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 16:14    For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the
battle of that great day of God Almighty.
Rev 16:15    Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
Rev 16:16    And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.
Rev 16:17    And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there
came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

  1. earth - God spoke light on earth
  2. sea - divided waters second day
  3. fountains - dry land appeared and fresh water came
  4. sun - sun moon and stars
  5. beast - beasts of sea.
  6. kings - man in image of God to be a king.
  7. air - it is done. God finished work and rested on seventh day.

Seven days of Genesis.

Trumpets

Rev 8:7    The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was
burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Rev 8:8    And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
Rev 8:9    And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
Rev 8:10    And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
Rev 8:11    And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
Rev 8:12    And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as
the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

Genesis Day 1 - Light gives life to green plants, green life was affected.
Day 2 - Sea - salt water.
Day 3 - Fresh water - day three land appeared
Day 4 - Sun, moon, stars.

Next three are WOES because they affect man directly and correspond to LIFE of animals, and mankind in last three days of Genesis 1.

Rev 8:13    And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by
reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

Going back to the sealed book, we find that it is a book containing wrath and tribulation.

Ezekiel 2:9    And when I looked, behold, an hand was sent unto me; and, lo, a roll of a book was therein;
Ezekiel 2:10    And he spread it before me; and it was written within and without: and there was written therein lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

Ezekiel 3:1    Moreover he said unto me, Son of man, eat that thou findest; eat this roll, and go speak unto the house of Israel.
Ezekiel 3:2    So I opened my mouth, and he caused me to eat that roll.
Ezekiel 3:3    And he said unto me, Son of man, cause thy belly to eat, and fill thy bowels with this roll that I give thee. Then did I eat it; and it was in my
mouth as honey for sweetness.
Ezekiel 3:4    And he said unto me, Son of man, go, get thee unto the house of Israel, and speak with my words unto them.

Ezekiel 3:14    So the spirit lifted me up, and took me away, and I went in bitterness, in the heat of my spirit; but the hand of the LORD was strong upon
me.

Rev 10:9    And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly
bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
Rev 10:10    And I took the little book out of the angel's hand, and ate it up; and it was in my mouth sweet as honey: and as soon as I had eaten it, my belly was bitter.
Rev 10:11    And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy again before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

The weeping for the book to be opened occurred because it would mean the enemies of Christ would not be made his footstool if it was not opened.

It all goes back to prayer.

The Lord's Prayer gets us into the Kingdom!

It takes prayer for us to do His will.

Paul actually mentioned the seating of Christ at the right hand in Ephesians 1.

Ephesians 1:16    Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
Ephesians 1:17    That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Ephesians 1:18    The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his
inheritance in the saints,
Ephesians 1:19    And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Ephesians 1:20    Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, [KINGDOM]
Ephesians 1:21    Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to
come:

Jesus destroyed the devil by the devil's only weapon, death.

Heb 2:14    Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15    And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

We can overcome him by the same power.

Rev 12:11    And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

We overcome the devil by the blood, because the blood made us kings and priests, and kings and priests overcome!

Rev 5:9    And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
Rev 5:10    And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

The power God used to sit Christ on the throne and resurrect Him is power towards us.

Resurrection means it's more power than death.

If we truly saw this, we'd never worry about any battle we face.
