RESURRECTION

John
19:14-15 And it was the preparation of the passover, and about
the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!
(15) But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify
him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief
priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.
1 Corinthians
5:7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new
lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed
for us:
Luke 24:46
And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to
suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Exodus
3:18 And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come,
thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say
unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us
go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we
may sacrifice to the LORD our God.
Exodus 8:27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us.
Exodus
15:22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red sea, and they went out
into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the
wilderness, and found no water.
After The Passover, Israel journeyed THREE DAYS.
• Passover was when the DEATH of the lamb occurred like JESUS DIED on the cross the same day.
•
They entered into the death of the lamb when they entered into the door
stained with lamb’s blood.
• And three days later, Jesus resurrected.
Romans 4:25 Who was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification.
But three days after the Passover died, Israel comes to a place where there is no WATER!
• And when they should have sacrificed to the LORD, they complain about no water!
Exodus
15:23-25 And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the
waters of Marah, for they were bitter: therefore the name of it was
called Marah. (24) And the people murmured against Moses,
saying, What shall we drink? (25) And he cried unto the
LORD; and the LORD shewed him a tree, which when he had cast into the
waters, the waters were made sweet: there he made for them a statute
and an ordinance, and there he proved them,
Even though they murmured, Moses THREW A TREE INTO THE BITTER WATERS and made them sweet.
• When you go through bitter waters, throw the CROSS into the situation and make the bitter into sweet!
• The old rugged cross is called the TREE in the bible.
Acts 5:30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.
God proved them at the waters of Massah and Meribah!
Deuteronomy 6:16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.
That was the statement Jesus quoted from the WILDERNESS when JESUS was in the same wilderness when the devil tempted him.
Matthew
4:5-7 Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and
setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (6) And saith unto
him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,
He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands
they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a
stone. (7) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou
shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
But the THIRD DAY they thirsted for water, instead of trusting God!
They complained
the next day after Passover when they left Egypt when they faced the
Red Sea, and the second time they doubted was at the THREE DAY mark
outside of Egypt in the wilderness.
• When they were supposed to sacrifice to the Lord THAT THIRD DAY!
And ONE YEAR later, they held Passover again at Mount Sinai.
Numbers
9:1-5 And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai,
in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the
land of Egypt, saying, (2) Let the children of Israel also
keep the passover at his appointed season. (3) In the
fourteenth day of this month, at even, ye shall keep it in his
appointed season: according to all the rites of it, and according to
all the ceremonies thereof, shall ye keep it. (4) And Moses
spake unto the children of Israel, that they should keep the
passover. (5) And they kept the passover on the fourteenth
day of the first month at even in the wilderness of Sinai: according to
all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel.
And they never kept it again for 39 more years.
Chapter 13 is when they came to the border to enter the land, and they DOUBTED.
Numbers
14:30-34 Doubtless ye shall not come into the land, concerning
which I sware to make you dwell therein, save Caleb the son of
Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun. (31) But your little
ones, which ye said should be a prey, them will I bring in, and they
shall know the land which ye have despised. (32) But as for
you, your carcases, they shall fall in this wilderness.
(33) And your children shall wander in the wilderness forty
years, and bear your whoredoms, until your carcases be wasted in the
wilderness. (34) After the number of the days in which ye
searched the land, even forty days, each day for a year, shall ye bear
your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know my breach of
promise.
And the children bore their whoredoms by not being allowed to be circumcised for the next 39 years.
It was not until they entered Canaan by crossing Jordan the very day, 40 years before they took the Passover Lamb.
Joshua
4:19 And the people came up out of Jordan on the tenth day of the
first month, and encamped in Gilgal, in the east border of Jericho.
Exodus
12:3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the
tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb,
according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:
And they had a Passover four days later!
Joshua
5:10 And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the
passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of
Jericho.
But this was AFTER these words…
Joshua
5:1-7 And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites,
which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the
Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the
waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were
passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them
any more, because of the children of Israel. (2) At that
time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise
again the children of Israel the second time. (3) And
Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at
the hill of the foreskins. (4) And this is the cause why
Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were
males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way,
after they came out of Egypt. (5) Now all the people that
came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the
wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had
not circumcised. (6) For the children of Israel walked
forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of
war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not
the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew
them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would
give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey. (7) And
their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua
circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not
circumcised them by the way.
Passover could not be eaten by the uncircumcised.
Exodus
12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep
the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then
let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in
the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof.
Just like
we’re BAPTIZED into Jesus’ death as they Entered the DOOR
surrounded by blood, like entering death, no one uncircumcised could
eat Passover.
Baptism is a circumcision!
Colossians
2:11-12 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision
made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by
the circumcision of Christ: (12) Buried with him in
baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the
operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
You need to get into the DOOR of Jesus’ death to eat Passover and you also had to be circumcised to eat Passover.
• Both point to the SAME THING.
• Baptism is necessary!
So the tenth day of the month when they took the lambs in Egypt paralleled the day they crossed Jordan.
• And the children were circumcised.
Joshua 5:9
And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach
of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal
unto this day.
Circumcision is rolling away the flesh and cutting it away.
• Our sins were rolled away!
• Gilgal means ROLLING ROLLING.
And some people will never tell you this, but the bible says this about baptism:
Acts 22:16 And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.
The fourteenth
day was Passover, and Israel had Passover in Canaan for the first time
in 39 years since they left Mount Sinai and had Passover. So the 14th
was paralleled in Canaan.
What about Three days after the Passover, which was the day Jesus resurrected?
Joshua
5:10-12 And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept
the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains
of Jericho. (11) And they did eat of the old corn of the
land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched
corn in the selfsame day. (12) And the manna ceased on the
morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had
the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of
the land of Canaan that year.
The THIRD DAY the manna stopped!
As Jesus resurrected the THIRD DAY after Passover, the THIRD DAY MANNA STOPPED
They ate ONLY the food that grew on the land THAT THEY DID NOT PLANT NOR SOW!
Deuteronomy
6:10-12 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought
thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to
Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou
buildedst not, (11) And houses full of all good things,
which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not,
vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt
have eaten and be full; (12) Then beware lest thou forget
the LORD, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the
house of bondage.
It sounds like the Garden of Eden!
Genesis 2:8 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
God planted the Garden, not Adam, and then God put Adam in that garden.
Israel was put by God in the Canaan land and ate from trees and food they never planted nor grew.
And when God
said, “Don’t forget me,” after He spoke to them about
getting into the land where they would eat food they never planted,
it’s like saying when I GET YOU BACK INTO THE GARDEN, DON’T
FORGET ME AND MESS UP AGAIN LIKE ADAM DID!
Because the serpent told Eve basically to forget God.
Genesis
3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your
eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Three days after
they left Egypt and were carnally murmuring for no water, Moses threw
in the tree and made the bitter water sweet.
• But three days after the Passover in Canaan, they eat food from the land they never planted nor grew!
• And God says DO NOT FORGET ME!
John
4:32-38 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know
not of. (33) Therefore said the disciples one to another,
Hath any man brought him ought to eat? (34) Jesus saith
unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish
his work. (35) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and
then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and
look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
(36) And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit
unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may
rejoice together. (37) And herein is that saying true, One
soweth, and another reapeth. (38) I sent you to reap that
whereon ye bestowed no labour: other men laboured, and ye are entered
into their labours.
Jesus said the same thing!
He just spoke to the woman at the well about water she never knew before.
John
4:13-14 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of
this water shall thirst again: (14) But whosoever drinketh
of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water
that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into
everlasting life.
Like the River of Life in the Garden!
And then He spoke to the disciples about FOOD they never knew, they never grew or planted!
God supplied it to them!
• Like FRUIT OF LIFE in the Garden!
They’re back in the land of Abraham again!
• God gave Abraham that land like he gave Adam dominion over the earth!
•
He took them out of the bondage of Egypt they went into after leaving
Abraham’s land due to famine.’
• And Adam went into a famine of NO FRUIT OF LIFE!
• But God brought us back BY PASSOVER just as Israel came back by the blood of the lamb!
And they had
Passover for the first time since they left Mount Sinai, after the
doubting generation was gone, and the youth were circumcised cutting
away the flesh like God cut away the doubting fleshly adults who
couldn't believe they could enter in!
No wonder God was angry at their doubt to enter Canaan!
•
It was a foreshadow of returning to the GARDEN that GOD PLANTED where
we eat fruit of Life we never grew and live forever!
• It represented SALVATION to the KINGDOM dominion God first gave to Adam that Adam lost in sin!
