WHAT HIS RESURRECTION ACCOMPLISHED

Matthew 21:9 And the multitudes that went before, and that
followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: Blessed is he
that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
Psalms 118:25-26 Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I
beseech thee, send now prosperity. (26) Blessed be he that
cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of
the LORD.
They quoted Psalm 118.
• But after the Pharisees discouraged everyone from worshiping Him as Messiah, He said…
Matthew 21:42-43 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the
scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become
the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous
in our eyes? (43) Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of
God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the
fruits thereof.
He quoted THE SAME PSALM and told them it not only said “Blessed
is he who comes in the name of the Lord,” But it also said
“the stone which the builders rejected is made the head of the
corner.”
HOW TO BE FILLED TO UTTERMOST BY THE HOLY SPIRIT
Psalms 118:19-24 Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will go
into them, and I will praise the LORD: (20) This gate of
the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. (21) I will
praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.
(22) The stone which the builders refused is become the head
stone of the corner. (23) This is the LORD'S doing; it is
marvellous in our eyes. (24) This is the day which the LORD
hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
He is the HEAD of the corner.
• He unites angels in heaven and believers in the earth.
• Jews and Gentiles IN ONE BODY.
A cornerstone is the first stone set in the construction of a masonry
foundation, important since all other stones will be set in reference
to this stone, thus determining the position of the entire structure.
When verses 19 to 22 speak of the LORD who became my salvation, that is what the name of JESUS means.
• LORD IS MY SALVATION.
• No wonder they said SAVE US (hosanna)
It’s the day He conquered death!
• Satan threw his power of death and had him
killed, but to say He resurrected is to say he defeated the
devil’s power.
And that resurrection power is toward us.
I want to help you understand something about the resurrection power that you may not know.
Ephesians 1:17-22 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the
Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation
in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of
his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the
saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his
power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty
power, (20) Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him
from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly
places, (21) Far above all principality, and power, and
might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this
world, but also in that which is to come: (22) And hath put
all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things
to the church,
HEAD OF THE CORNER.
Keep in mind he is talking about the power of resurrection.
• It is TOWARD US WHO BELIEVE.
• We can use that power NOW.
Ephesians 2:6-8 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit
together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: (7) That in
the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his
kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. (8) For by grace
are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift
of God:
Notice He raised us up with Him to sit WITH HIM in those heavenly places where He sits.
• Then he gives a reason for this.
• THAT….
• Verse 7 gives us the reason for this seating with Him.
• It’s so that in ages to come GOD WILL SHOW HIS EXCEEDING RICH KINDNESS AND GRACE…
• TOWARD US
• This power that raised Jesus and enthroned him is CALLED GRACE!
• Now you know what God meant when he told Paul
HIS GRACE Is sufficient for Paul, when Paul prayed about a thorn in his
flesh.
• Verse 9 stresses we’re not saved by OUR OWN SELVES WORKING.
• HE is the one who did the work.
• We’re HIS WORKMANSHIP.
But it’s all for the purpose of showing HIS GRACE.
Then he talks about what we were before we were saved.
Ephesians 2:11-12 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past
Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is
called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; (12)
That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the
commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise,
having no hope, and without God in the world:
You used to be aliens from the commonwealth of Israel when you were OUTSIDE OF JESUS.
• The covenants OF PROMISE weren’t ours.
• We were strangers to all that.
• WITHOUT HOPE.
Israel had the PROMISES OF GOD!
• How many know the promises Israel was given in the Old Testament?
• We were ALIENS TO ALL OF THAT.
But…
Ephesians 2:13-16 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were
far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (14) For he
is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle
wall of partition between us; (15) Having abolished in his
flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances;
for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
(16) And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the
cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Israel and each believer are now considered ONE BODY!
• Jesus took both groups of people and reconciled them to God AS ONE BODY.
Ephesians 2:17-18 And came and preached peace to you which were
afar off, and to them that were nigh. (18) For through him
we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
He broke down a dividing wall between us and Israel.
• Israel was behind the wall where promises and blessings were.
• And we were locked out.
• Jesus BROKE THAT WALL DOWN so we could get in on the blessings.
• And that wall was the LAW OF COMMANDMENTS CONTAINED IN ORDINANCES.
Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and
foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of
God;
The saints were JEWS in ISRAEL!
Ephesians 2:20-22 And are built upon the foundation of the
apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner
stone; (21) In whom all the building fitly framed together
groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: (22) In whom ye
also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
“YE ALSO”… GENTILES!
The prophets were God’s messengers in the OLD Covenant.
- Apostles in the NEW.
- We are built on not just apostles, BUT ALSO PROPHETS!
- All prophets said APPLY TO US NOW, TOO!
- We used to be strangers to what prophets promised!
So, we’re not only TOGETHER with Jesus on the throne, but also TOGETHER with Israel – but ONLY BELIEVING ISRAEL!
• This new covenant was for Israel.
Jeremiah 31:31-33 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I
will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house
of Judah: (32) Not according to the covenant that I made
with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring
them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I
was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: (33) But this
shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After
those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts,
and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be
my people.
In Acts 2:41, 3000 JEWS were taken into the NEW COVENANT.
• In Acts 4:4, 5,000 more JEWS taken into the NEW COVENANT.
• In Acts 8 Then HALF Israelite/Gentiles (Samaritans) came into the New Covenant.
• It was because THE GOSPEL IS TO THE JEW FIRST.
Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it
is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the
Jew first, and also to the Greek.
Romans 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
Romans 9:24 Even us, whom he hath called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles?
Romans 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the
Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
UNSAVED Jews were enemies to the Church, but GOD STILL LOVED THEM.
Romans 11:28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your
sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers'
sakes.
And they can GET BACK ON THE OLIVE TREE!
Romans 11:23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief,
shall be graffed in: for God is able to graff them in again.
But they have to believe.
If they stay under law they are cursed:
Galatians 3:9-10 So then they which be of faith are blessed with
faithful Abraham. (10) For as many as are of the works of
the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one
that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the
law to do them.
So, after Paul says we’re not only TOGETHER with Jesus, but also
WITH believing ISRAEL who entered the new covenant, he says…
THIS FELLOWSHIP between Jews and Gentiles IN THE CHURCH .,..
Ephesians 3:6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the
same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
FOR THIS PURPOSE…
Ephesians 3:9-11 And to make all men see what is the fellowship
of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in
God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (10) To the
intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places
might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
(11) According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ
Jesus our Lord:
Before, the resurrection power was to show God’s GRACE TO US! Eph. 2:7.
- Now it’s GOD’S MANIFOLD WISDOM
And the UNITY OF SAVED GENTILES WITH ISRAEL shows ALL MEN AS WELL AS PRINCIPALITIES AND POWERS HIS MANIFOLD WISDOM – 3:10!
First it shows the universe HIS GRACE.
• Secondly it shows the universe HIS WISDOM!
AND it’s HIS ETERNAL PURPOSE!
Then he tells us to not faint because of his persecutions he endures for preaching this message.…
Then He prayed for us AGAIN!
In chapter 1 he prayed for our eyes to be opened to see the resurrection power TOWARD US.
• He’s praying again!
Ephesians 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father
of our Lord Jesus Christ, (15) Of whom the whole family in
heaven and earth is named, (16) That he would grant you,
according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by
his Spirit in the inner man; (17) That Christ may dwell in
your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
(18) May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the
breadth, and length, and depth, and height; (19) And to
know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be
filled with all the fulness of God. (20) Now unto him that
is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that worketh IN US, (21) Unto him be
glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without
end. Amen.
- Paul prayed we Learn the DIMENSIONS of this TEMPLE,
after he said we are built together with believing Jews into a holy
temple.
- The more we KNOW of the dimensions of this temple, the MORE HIS SPIRIT FILLS US.
- GOD FILLS HIS TEMPLES!
Exodus 40:34 Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.
2 Chronicles 5:13 It came even to pass, as the trumpeters and
singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and
thanking the LORD; and when they lifted up their voice with the
trumpets and cymbals and instruments of musick, and praised the LORD,
saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever: that then the
house was filled with a cloud, even the house of the LORD;
2 Chronicles 7:1 Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the
fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the
sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.
He will have glory through all ages like He said this was accomplished for!
• Until you SEE the union of SAVED ISRAEL AND
SAVED GENTILES, you will not realize how MUCH POWER we have!
