BIRTH WITHOUT THE CURSE

  Scripture Text:

Gen 1:28 KJV  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 3:13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.

God cursed the woman:

Genesis 3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

  Message:

Notice that when God BLESSED the man and woman, that BLESSING involved the very things the CURSING involved.

Multiplying, filling earth by bringing forth children, and subjection.

God often contrasted blessings from cursings using the same elements involved.

Deu 28:3-4 KJV  Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.  (4)  Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Deu 28:16-18 KJV  Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.  (17)  Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.  (18)  Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

And we see the same thing noted in the woman's blessing and cursing.
  • Instead of being BLESSED to be fruitful and multiply humanity, the woman was CURSED to multiply sorrow in pregnancy.
  • Instead of being blessed to replenish the earth through childbirth, the woman was cursed to bring forth children in sorrow.
  • Instead of being blessed to subdue the earth, the woman was cursed to be in ruled over by her husband.

It is very significant to indicate that the cursing the woman experienced is related to the very things God BLESSED the man and the woman with.

Now let us read Isaiah 66.

Isaiah 66:5-14  Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed. A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies. Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child. Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God. Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her: That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory. For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees. As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you; and ye shall be comforted in Jerusalem.  And when ye see this, your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like an herb: and the hand of the LORD shall be known toward his servants, and his indignation toward his enemies.

The woman Eve was intended to be Adam's help in multiplying himself over the world.

Gen 1:27-28 KJV  So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.  (28)  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And this was a multiplying of God's image all over the world.
  • Man was made in God's image.
  • That was because God wanted to dwell inside man, and the more like God man was, the more God perfectly would be able to live through man.
  • God could never live through a fish or horse as much as He could manifest Himself through mankind, since man alone is in His image.

But the greatest role the woman would ever play in Adam multiplying himself over the world was the very thing the devil managed to hinder.
  • Mankind is not born in God's image any more.

Col 1:15 KJV  Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

Rom 8:29 KJV  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Christ is God's image and we must be conformed to the image of Christ.
  • That means the image of God in us all was MARRED.

Christ identified with us in this regard when He died:

Isa 52:14 KJV  As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

The image of God in us all was marred.
  • So Christ identified with us, became a marred image, and died, so His death could be considered our deaths, and thereby free us from sin through dying.

Children became born with an image somewhat distorted from God's image.
  • We were born in sin as the result of the woman having eaten of the forbidden fruit, which actually changed our natures.
  • Our natures became more like the devil than God.
  • The devil's nature began to live and grow in us from the forbidden fruit, just like a seed from a fruit grows in soil and reproduces that fruit.

Everyone was born in sin, and therefore everyone could be said to be the children of the devil.
  • So we need to be born again.

And when God issued curses due to the sin, the woman was cursed to experience multiplication.
  • Now, multiplication was the initial purpose for the woman in Adam's command to multiply and fill the earth.
  • Multiplication is again involved, and even with the idea of children!
  • But this multiplication is a bad one.
  • Her sorrow in pregnancy would be multiplied.
  • She would suffer.
  • During pregnancy, there is nausea, fainting, loathing of food, pains, dizziness and dangers of miscarriage.
  • And what more worry and sorrow does a Christian mother have than to look at a child who is lost and not saved on it's way top glory?

The very area of her life and existence that was intended to help Adam do the ultimate will  of God, and multiply God's image over the world is ruined.
  • No wonder God cursed this part of her life.
  • It is associated with Gods entire purpose for her.

Gen 1:28 KJV  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Genesis 3:16  Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

GOD BLESSED them in regards to multiplying, replenishing and subduing.
  • The SAME THREE THINGS are involved in the curse!
  • Adam and Eve were BLESSED to be fruitful, Multiply, replenish the earth and subdue it.
  • Eve was CURSED to be fruitful, with sorrow multiplied in child birth, and she filled the earth with generation of vipers.
  • And instead of subduing the earth, she was to be subjected to her husband.
  • (It seems there was more of a co-ruling before the fall, but a submission to the man more than originally intended afterwards.)

Jesus spoke of a generation of vipers when He spoke of those who fought His purpose and will of God in the world.
  • A generation is an offpsring in this instance.
  • That which was generated by a serpent.

There would be suffering involved in birthing now.
  • That was a curse.
  • Instead of a blessing, there would be a curse associated with reproducing mankind.
  • It was nefver merant to be like that.
  • Naturalists claim that women suffer more in child birth than any other creature.
  • God's image was supposed to come forth more and more!

No wonder we are made new creatures when we are born again.

2Co 5:17 KJV  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Isaiah 66 is a fascinating chapter of the bible.
  • Isaiah is a book that has as many chapters in it as the bible has books.
  • 66.
  • And what is so wonderful is that this last chapter of the book of Isaiah parallels the last book of the entire bible.
  • It especially parallels the end of this Book of Revelation.

Isa 66:12 KJV  For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the Gentiles like a flowing stream: then shall ye suck, ye shall be borne upon her sides, and be dandled upon her knees.

Rev 21:24-26 KJV  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  (25)  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.  (26)  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

The glory of the gentiles shall come into Jerusalem like a flowing stream.
  • Revelation says the same thing about the New Jerusalem.
  • When Isaiah prophesies of Jerusalem, he is actually spekaing of NEW JERUSALEM.
  • The above verses prove it.
  • We have other chapters in Isaiah which speak of Jerusalem which are actually fulfilled in New Jerusalem:

Isa 60:5 KJV  Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.

Isa 60:11 KJV  Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.

Isa 60:19 KJV  The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.

We already quoted Revelation in saying the glory of the gentiles would come to Jerusalem.
  • But we also see explicit fulfillment of the sun and moon not requried to give Jerusalem light.

Rev 21:23-26 KJV  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.  (24)  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  (25)  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.  (26)  And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

When Isaiah speaks of Jerusalem, he is clealry speaking of NEW JERUSALEM.
  • And this shows us something wonderful!
  • Everything to do with MANKIND, and God's work with mankind, INVOLVES BEING BORN AGAIN in order to be the entity God requires.
  • We are human beings before and after we are saved.
  • But not just human beings... we are BORN AGAIN PEOPLE.
  • And The same thing is seen with Jerusalem.

Isaiah said the things that Revelation claims occurs with NEW JERUSALEM would occur with what he simply called Jerusalem.
  • Now, we know NEW JERUSALEM is not OLD JERUSALEM.
  • What you read about in Revelaiton 21 and 22 is not that city in the middle east, situated in the nation of Israel.
  • But why does Isaiah speak of it as though it IS the same city since he simply uses the same title that spoke of that city?
  • IT IS BECAUSE EVEN JERUSALEM IS BORN AGAIN, so to speak!

We are NEW CREATURES, and we were born from NEW JERUSALEM.

Anything to do with MANKIND being used of God REQUIRES MANKIND TO BE BORN AGAIN.
  • Even the JERUSALEM Isaiah spoke about is not the Jerusalem in the middle east.
  • IT IS NEW JERUSALEM.

Isaiah 66 mentions a woman giving before BEFORE SHE TRAVAILED.
  • She had a man child before her pain came!
  • Normally, the earth cannot bring forth in a day and a natiuon cannot be born at once.
  • But Zion had no sooner entered at the point of travail, than CHILDREN were broth forth from her.
  • THIS IS A MOTHER WHO IS NOT UNDER THE CURSE!

Rev 22:3 KJV  And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

No wonder God said there would be no more curse in this city!
  • It's a people who crowd around the tree of life.
  • That tree formerly stood in a Garden from which Adam and Eve were cast due to their sin.
  • But people are once again walking amongst the tree of Life!
  • The curse is gone!
  • No wonder Zion gave birth without travail!

Our purpose is to bring forth and multiply for Jesus Christ!
  • Instead of Adam being multiplied in the earth now, it is Jesus Christ being multiplied into the earth.

Galatians 4:26  But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Isai 66:11-14  That ye may suck, and be satisfied with the breasts of her consolations; that ye may milk out, and be delighted with the abundance of her glory.

WHEN YOU SEE THIS!
  • Get a revelation of this and SEE with eyes of understanding being enlightened.

Isai 66:8-9  Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

AN ENTIRE NATION IN ONE DAY?

1Peter 2:9  But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

We are a holy nation!
  • Born on one great day, the day of Pentecost!
  • This is not talking about Israel becoming a nation in our day!

Isa 66:6-7 KJV  A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.  (7)  Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.

Act 2:2 KJV  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.

Act 2:6 KJV  Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

A noise was heard in the city!
  • From within the OLD Jerusalem came forth the NEW JERUSALEM!
  • It was SUDDEN, before she travailed!

We do a lot of HELP here.
  • This church HELPS!
  • Eve was a HELP meet for Adam.
  • We need to pray and believe God for HELP THAT PRODUCES CHILDREN!

We can work and work and work and never produce hardly any children.
  • God made us stewards of His kingdom.

Recall the husbandmen whom the Lord put in charge of his vineyard in Matthew 21.
  • When he came to get the fruits, they did not produce them for him.
  • He was speaking of OLD JERUSALEM.

Mat 21:33-34 KJV  Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:  (34)  And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.

Mat 21:40 KJV  When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?

Mat 21:43-45 KJV  Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.  (44)  And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.  (45)  And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.

We are stewards of our bodies, the temple of the Holy Ghost.
  • We can treat our bodies like shacks and useless houses by the way we live.
  • And we are stewards of our money.
  • Be good stewards.
  • Do not blow your finances on foolishness.
  • Be responsible.
  • But we are also stewards of our TIME.
  • What do we SPEND TIME and our ability of HELP UPON?
  • Is our work producing children?
  • We can be very busy and working day and night and keeping ourselves active.
  • BUT WHAT WORK PRODUCES CHILDREN AND WHAT WORK IS SIMPLY SPENDING TIME PRODUCING NO CHILDREN?

We can minister to each other and clock our time and see a lot of effort and time being used.
  • But what about spending time, money and effort in touching UNSAVED?

I get upset with churches and ministries that never bring the saints to maturity, and simply just get them saved and tell them to save others before they are even spiritually matured and taught to live a strong Christian life.
  • However, there is the other extreme of never reaching the lost as well.

Luk 19:12-13 KJV  He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.  (13)  And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Luk 19:15 KJV  And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.

Rom 1:13-15 KJV  Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles.  (14)  I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise.  (15)  So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also.

We need some FRUIT amongst out cities and towns.
  • If a mother is not reproducing for her husband, she is an unhealthy mother.
  • Something is wrong.

And down to the individual, the members of the church can squander their time as well.
  • Peter told us to not look at trials as some strange thing happening to us.
  • But believers treat their trials as things which must take up their entire time and efforts, and cannot continue in a ministry.
  • They are never there for the church to do a ministry, but are so caught up and overwhelmed by their personal troubles.
  • THAT takes up their entire lives for the Lord so they never minister to anyone else.
  • Church, for them, is a place to always receive and to never really give out to others.
  • Always defeated and torn down so that they always have to be lifted up in church, where the effort to lift up should be directed towards the new saints and not folks in the church for many years.
