Exodus 24:1-2 And he said unto Moses,
Come up unto the LORD, thou, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of
the elders of Israel; and worship ye afar off. And Moses alone shall come
near the LORD: but they shall not come nigh; neither shall the people go
up with him.
Exodus 24:9 -10 Then went up Moses, and
Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel: And they saw
the God of Israel: and [there was] under his feet as it were a paved work
of a sapphire stone, and as it were the body of heaven in [his] clearness.
Exodus 24:12-13 And the LORD said unto
Moses, Come up to me into the mount, and be there: and I will give thee
tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have written; that thou
mayest teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister Joshua: and Moses
went up into the mount of God.
Exodus 24:15-18 And Moses went up into
the mount, and a cloud covered the mount. And the glory of the LORD abode
upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day
he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud. And the sight of the
glory of the LORD [was] like devouring fire on the top of the mount in the
eyes of the children of Israel. And Moses went into the midst of the cloud,
and gat him up into the mount: and Moses was in the mount forty days and
forty nights.
Revelation 4:1-2 After this I looked,
and, behold, a door [was] opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard
[was] as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither,
and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter. And immediately I was
in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and [one] sat on
the throne.
The redemption of the people of God by the Blood of Jesus is the greatest
work that mankind could ever know.
- It fully restored what we
lost in Eden.
- It made us kings and priests
to God again.
- If we can see that we are
seated with Him, and that there is power that works in us, we will understand
the Kingdom of God more properly.
- Ephesians 1:17-20 says
that Paul desired the Ephesians to have a revelation of what is the greatness
of his power towards us, what we have going for us, who believe, according
to the power when He raised Christ from the dead and set HIm at his right
hand.
- That power He wrought in
Christ is the power for us.
- All this power is towards
us.
- Can we see it?
- Let us read Ephesians 1
:17-20
Ephesians 1:17-20 That the God of our Lord
Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being
enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the
riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what [is] the exceeding
greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of
his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the
dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places],
Then we read:
Ephesians 2:5-6 Even when we were dead
in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
And hath raised [us] up together, and made [us] sit together in heavenly
[places] in Christ Jesus:
- This is the same power that
was wrought in Christ when God raised Him from the dead.
- This revelation we must
receive is found in a book aptly titled, the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
What better book to go to in
order to receive a revelation of the power for us who believe according to
the power wrought in Christ when God raised him from the dead?
- We are raised together with
Jesus Christ.
- We are right now seated
with Him in heavenly places.
FAITH
In the Bible, we read OVERCOMERS
sit with Christ.
Revelation 3:21 To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am
set down with my Father in his throne.
How is it that we overcome?
1 John 5:4 For whatsoever is born
of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world,
[even] our faith.
- Entering a place of faith
with Christ, which seats you with Him, is entering eldership.
- You cease from your own
works and REST in His finished work.
Hebrews 4:10 For he that is entered
into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his.
Hebrews 10:12-14 But this man, after
he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand
of God; From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
He did His work and we are to
sit with Him.
- ONE OFFERING DID THE ENTIRE
JOB!
- When battles come, we do
not worry but sit.
- We know the work is already
done.
- Don't worry about the enemy
bringing trials, he is already defeated by the blood. There will be some
mopping up later on, but for now God has him in check and control. He does
nothing God will not allow him to do.
- Christ is seated above
all principalities, so when battles come, He is in control.
- Paul was content in any
state he was in.... he was resting and seated with Christ.
In Revelation 5, John saw the
actual temple of Heaven.
- The Temple John saw was
what Moses seen so long ago.
- Moses built a model of
it in the world.
- And that model was called
the tabernacle.
- Later it was a fuller scale
model called the temple.
- But they only had a model
of it.
- We have the real thing!
The first thing John saw correlates
perfectly with the first thing Moses saw after he saw the sapphire pavement
where he and Joshua and Aaron and 70 elders saw God and ate and supped with
Him.

Exodus 25:8-10 And let them
make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I
shew thee, [after] the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the
instruments thereof, even so shall ye make [it]. And they shall make an
ark [of] shittim wood: two cubits and a half [shall be] the length thereof,
and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height
thereof. |
Revelation 4:2 And immediately
I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and [one]
sat on the throne. |
Exodus 25:23 Thou shalt
also make a table [of] shittim wood: two cubits [shall be] the length
thereof, and a cubit the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height
thereof.
v. 30 And thou shalt set upon the table shewbread before me alway.
Leviticus 24:5 And thou shalt take fine flour, and bake twelve cakes
thereof: two tenth deals shall be in one cake. |
Revelation 4:4 And round
about the throne [were] four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I
saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they
had on their heads crowns of gold. |
Exodus 25:31-32 And thou
shalt make a candlestick [of] pure gold: [of] beaten work shall the
candlestick be made: his shaft, and his branches, his bowls, his knops, and
his flowers, shall be of the same. And six branches shall come out of the
sides of it; three branches of the candlestick out of the one side, and three
branches of the candlestick out of the other side: |
Revelation 4:5 And out
of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and [there
were] seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are
the seven Spirits of God. |
Exodus 26:31 And thou shalt
make a vail [of] blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen
of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made: |
Revelation 4:6 And before
the throne [there was] a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the
midst of the throne, and round about the throne, [were] four beasts
full of eyes before and behind. |
God's Throne
John saw the same throne room
that Moses saw.
- Moses made a pattern of
it when he made the Tabernacle.
- The first thing Moses saw
was the THRONE and God told him to make a replica of it in the ark of the
covenant.
- John saw the throne first.
- John heard God call, "Come
up hither."
- Moses heard God call, "Come
up unto the Lord."
24 Elders
After the throne, the second
thing John saw was 24 elders sitting on 24 seats.
- After the Ark and the Mercy
seat, (Throne of God), Moses was told to make a table of shewbread.
- And we only find 12 pieces
of bread later on in this tabernacle.
- But we have 24 elders (12
X 2) seated.
- Since they were mentioned
second and we know that we are seated together with Jesus in heavenly places,
we know this refers to us somehow.
- Why 24?
- Only twelve tribes of Israel
in the Old Testament, Moses' time..
- But since then there have
not only been 12 tribes of God's people, but 12 apostles.
- So 12 from the Order of
God in the Old Testament and 12 from the order in the New Testament makes
24.
- Not only 24 people sitting
there in reality, but all those under the order of the Old Testament and those
under the order of the New Testament.
- All Old Testament saints
and New Testament saints combined make this grand people of God.
The twenty four seats are the
SECOND THING MENTIONED AFTER THE THRONE OF GOD.
- God has your place mentioned
second to His throne in Heaven because He wants to fellowship with you.
- None other are more important
that His saints to Him!
- We are a blessed people!
- When the Priests ate the
shewbread in the tabernacle, they were supping with God.
Revelation 3:20-21 Behold, I stand at the
door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come
in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. To him that overcometh
will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am
set down with my Father in his throne.
We sit with Christ and eat with
Him.
- We fellowship.
- When life gets hard and
the storms break across the bows of our ships, We can sit with Christ, knowing
He has it all in control.
- After a hard day's work,
we can sit down with Jesus and sup with Him and talk it over!
- And then John saw something
similar, but much greater than what Moses experienced.
Seven Lamps
of Fire
- Moses was thirdly told to
make a candlestick of seven lamps, a shaft with six branches coming out from
its sides.
- John saw the seven lamps
of fire by the throne of God.
Sea of Glass
and the Beasts
- Fourthly,
Moses was told to make a veil with cherubims in it.
- John then
saw a sea of glass with four beasts, and Rev 4:7 tells us they looked like
the Cherubims Ezekiel saw in Ezekiel 1 and Ezekiel 10.
- The sea
of glass prohibited any from getting to the throne as the veil in the Holiest
of Holies prohibited anyone from getting to the Ark.
The Tablets
of Law and the Seven-Sealed Scroll
Moses
|
John
|
Exodus 31:18 And he gave
unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai,
two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.
Exodus 32:15 And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two
tables of the testimony [were] in his hand: the tables [were] written on
both their sides; on the one side and on the other [were] they written. |
Revelation 5:1 And I saw
in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and
on the backside, sealed with seven seals. |
We continue in Revelation:
Revelation 5:5-10 And one of the elders
saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of
David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.
And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts,
and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having
seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth
into all the earth. And he came and took the book out of
the right hand of him that sat upon the throne. And when he had taken
the book, the four beasts and four [and] twenty elders fell down before the
Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which
are the prayers of saints. And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy
to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and
hast redeemed
us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the
earth.
John saw the LAMB take the book.
- And when the Lamb took it,
the 24 elders said "Thou hast redeemed us and made us kings and priests and
we shall reign in the earth."
- Do we realize what this
is saying?
- The Lamb had been slain
and resurrected. It stood as if it had been slain.
- This is Jesus' death and
resurrection for our sins.
- And this resurrection and
presentation of His blood is seen in Revelation 5 symbolically telling us
that He entered the Holiest of Holies and redeemed us with the atoning blood
of Himself.
- That atonement worked for
us restoration to all Adam lost in Eden.
- He made
them priests to be able to come before Him whenever they had need and to also
worship in His presence.
- He made
the kings to rule on earth in circumstances, overcome the devil and rule their
spirits.
Ask yourself, "Why did God give
this revelation to John?"
What is it a revelation of?
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus
Christ...
JESUS REVEALED.
- It is not a revelation of
the endtimes, although it may involve that.
- It is not a revelation
of the antichrist, although it may involve that.
- It is not even a revelation
of what Jesus will do with the world, although that comes into view.
- It is a revelation of JESUS
CHRIST.
- Because if we can see where
Jesus is, then we can see where we are, for we are raised together with Him
in heavenly places.
- We are IN CHRIST.
- To get a revelation of
what He did for us and where He is will help us understand what we have going
for us.
Jesus went to the right hand
to take the book.
- Ephesians says He is seated
there
- And we are seated with
Him.
Revelation says He received seven
things, when he received the book and was seated.
Revelation 5:12 Saying with a loud voice,
Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom,
and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
- Power
- Riches
- Wisdom
- Strength
- Honour
- Glory
- Blessing
"Seven" implies "all" in the
Bible.
- He has everything we need
for our help and salvation!
People are worried about antichrist
in the Book of Revelation..
- Its all been taken care
of.
- God is letting him loose
for a reason.
- We have it made right now!
- Its okay. You might be
suffering trials, but Jesus prevailed and sits on the throne.
- And if you can relax and
believe it, you are sitting there to.
- THERE IS A PLACE FOR YOU
AT THE THRONE.
- God showed
us many strange events that come into the world throughout Revelation, but
He first showed us Jesus high above every principality and dominion before
we read the other events to take place.
- This is because we need
to always keep in mind that He has everything in control no matter how bad
things look like.
- He still reigns.
- When trials come before
you, remember where you are seated.
- Nothing can ever get out
of control.
- He is at the right hand
of God and so are you!
- Everything is going to
be alright!
- It has already been taken
care of.
